This is an amazing hotel with amazing amenities and unbelievable views- but I guess the same can be said for most hotels on the caldera. What most impressed me about Belvedere is their customer service. The gentleman tending bar by the pool worked so hard to serve all guests quickly. Upstairs the concierge worked magic to get us the best table at the best restaurant night after night. This hotel was worth every dollar.
"Beautiful setting "
Incredible views! Overall very nice! Great front desk. My only complaint is that the room was separate from the main hotel and was adjacent to an often noisy restaurant. Not a huge deal but I recommend a room that is NOT disconnected.
"A cave with a view"
Overall not much to the Superior room but the view. I stayed in room 101 which was at top and two doors down from the reception area. Therefore I had a large outdoor area aka "superior" but the room was average. Bed wasn't very comfortable. And there were no small bath towels. The rooms literally feel like a cave and the structure is cave-ish. The shower seemed a bit grimy that I was compelled to wear my flip flops in the shower. Also lighting in the was very limited .
"Great accommodation and views "
Great accommodation and views from private balcony. Room spacious, clean and serviced daily. Wonderful breakfast and pool bar. Views are unbeatable as is location. Staff very professional, and although not overly friendly, provided all the assistance we needed. Highly recommend!
Stayed here October 2016. Perfect location for this time of year with impeccable views of the sunset for October. It was also a great location at Firostefani right between Imerovigli and Fira. We stayed in room 206 which is just a little to the side of the main part of the hotel which was perfect and had great views from the balcony. It was a junior suite and talking to some other guests who stayed in the standard rooms many of them didn't have windows (or at least not big ones) and described the rooms as feeling small and locked in (something to keep in mind if you go for a standard room.) Bathrooms are a bit small but, then again, it is Europe. Pool and outdoor area is very accurate in the pictures and although not too much sitting space by the pool we always found space- I'm not sure how this would differ in busier months. Now for my complaint.. I have been requesting late check out since the day we arrived seeing as our flight out was at 9pm before we started traveling for over 24 hours. On the first day we were told the best way to do it is come back the day before we leave so they can give us an exact time for our late check out. We came the day before leaving and they told us the incoming guests had not confirmed their arrival time and to come back the next morning and they'd figure it out in the meantime. Obviously the next morning the staff members had changed and she was beyond rude telling us we were not going to get late check out as they didn't know the time new ppl would be coming in. We asked to pay more for another room, get a slight extension.. Really anything. She gave us the options of sitting in their sister hotels lobby or showering by the pool (which is either an exposed outdoor shower or a shower in the mixed men's/women's bathroom down there. When we asked her for a little more assistance we were met with an attitude that we felt was her telling us to deal with it it is not her problem. It actually left a very horrible taste on our last day and to be honest I would take off half a star from this rating if I could because I think polite and courteous staff do contribute to an overall experience of one's stay. If you ignore our last interaction with that one particular staff member the rest of our stay was great. I would definitely recommend getting a suite though.
