"Don't go during Christmas"
We stayed with my husband in Hotel de la Paix for 6 days . Although it was a long stay, usually people have short stay in this hotel at this time of the year, and the hotel had a low occupancy, they gave us a back and small room. The male personnel in the front desk especially Christophe (--) and his head assistant very arrogant, rude and with no professional attitude although not young in age. It was as if they didn't want tourist guests during Christmas holidays because they had the bar and restaurant closed for almost 5 days. We couldn't even get a coffee after breakfast although they knew all coffee shops in town were closed too. They even closed the lights in the sitting area near the closed bar so that nobody could sit there in the evening. They made it very clear with their attitude, their message was " don't stay in the hotel", "only in your room". Beautiful town, disappointing hospitality manners.
"Central Hotel reasonable price"
Centrally located in middle of Reims. Quite modern with good facilities. Rooms well fitted. Nice bar. Easy to get to most other places around. Did not eat in restaurant. Good value for money. Would use again.
We base ourselves here most years for our annual champagne run. In terms of location, service and comfort it is hard to beat. They have good onsite parking and this is a perfect location for exploring Reims and the surrounding country. The hotel has a wonderful champagne bar and a very good restaurant as well as being walking distance from the cathedral, many other excellent restaurants, superb christmas shopping and most of Reims's champagne houses/caves. Highly recommended.
"Very Good Central Hotel"
Stayed here for four nights and was in Room 602, this is the only problem, one has to take two lifts to reach the sixth floor. If it was not for that inconvenience I would have given ity five stars. Room very comfortable with excellent en-suite facilkities. Breakfast was provided with plenty of variety of both hot and cold food. This is the third time I have stayed at this hotel and it has been re-furbished which is an improvement. There are steps to the front door but for heavy luggage or for the disabled there is a lift from the pavement to the Reception Floor. The staff generally have a very good understanding of English and I would stay here again. It is very central to the city with a good range of excellent restaurants nearby and is aalso close to the very magnifidient cathedral.
I had a fantastic week in Reims, and due to seminars we were at the hotel most of the days. The location is close to everything, and the staff is very attentive and serviceminded. The room was huge and very clean, and breakfast was great. The bar was very nice and had a great atmosphere. The food in the restaurant was amazing. Hats off for the chefs! I would definitely recommend this hotel to others, and would not mind staying there again.
