This hotel was absolutely wonderful. We only stayed for one night as we arrived in Amsterdam at lunchtime Friday and headed home Saturday evening (today). We travelled as a couple and found the hotel easy to access by catching the sprinter from the airport to Lelylaan station. From there the hotel was relatively easy to find as it is right down the street from the World Fashion Centre. Located slightly out of the city meant the area was quiet and also pretty with a view of the canal and some grassy areas. There was a tram stop right outside and it was only 15-30 minutes (depending on traffic and time of day) into the centre of Amsterdam and even less time to the museum quarter. On arrival the concierge was very attentive and helpful showing us how to check in and making it a quick and simple process. I was impressed with how polite and helpful he was. Our room was 808 on the 8th floor (obviously) and again I was impressed by the elegant decor in the lobby, lift area and corridors. It was incredibly quiet throughout and we were never disturbed by other guests. The room itself was frankly gorgeous. A marble tiled bathroom with a big walk in shower cubicle and modern sink and toilet. Lots of toiletries provided including a very useful vanity set containing face wipes, nail file and cotton buds. Plenty of towels too. The beds were beautifully made up and extremely comfortable and to be honest I had the best nights sleep I've had in ages it was just so quiet and comfortable! There is a mini bar provided but as you pay extra for that we didn't use it. My partner did however use the free coffee machine in the room. There were also slippers and a sewing kit provided, a safe in the room, tv, travel iron and the option of dry cleaning. When we return to Amsterdam in the future we will definitely choose this hotel to stay in again.
"Great hotel at great price"
Booked this hotel after realising the hotels in the centre are extremely over priced. The hotel is on the tram route which is not a problem during the day. Did encounter trouble getting home late at night tho as bus would nor accept unlimited journey card so ended up getting cab. The hotel rooms are decorated to high standard and have luxury toiletries, robes, slippers. The check in is automatic high tech, breakfast is served to good standard. Would return to hotel.
"VIP weekend at a bargain price"
Loved the hotel, had a sense of luxury. All amenities were fantastic, size of room was great, perfect bathroom. Loved the coffee maker in the room, it was a great touch. It is also a great location, despite being out of the city centre, it gave us the chance to really explore the city, with the trams. There is a tram stop literally just outside the hotel, which is so convenient. All staff are friendly and helpful, with their local knowledge and good directions.I will definitely only stay here when visiting. Keep an eye out for their deals - we got an absolute bargain for the weekend. Spent the entire weekend feeling like VIP's
"Book it, you won't regret it!"
Researched this one with the other option being golden tulip. The winner was the tram stop outside and boy was that a good choice. I debated staying closer in the city or spending money to get an unlimited tram pass. It took 15mins tops to get into the city and I always love to see the outskirts or a city to see what the suburbs are like. Choosing a hotel in the centre would mean a compromise on they and add of hotel. At £70 a night here it was great for the quality. It is so clean (I have slummed it in Vietnamese hotels and equally lived it up) - the bathroom is beautiful, The room is modern and we even hooked up out ipad via the hdmi connection (probably not supposed to but we were careful not to damage anything!). Wifi is superb even on the eighth floor - a massive plus for us streamers. Absolutely no regrets - stay here, get an unlimited tram pass when arriving at the airport (includes airport to city trip by train) but beware it ends at 4am the last day so we had to get a single back to the airport but only 4 euro each. Thanks to a previous tripadvisor otherwise I wouldn't have known. A little annoying as you don't get the full 2/3 days however many you opt for. On the last day we didn't want to walk much and just sat on the tram doing a bit of sightseeing!! Get citymapper app on your phone as it helped us loads when finding out what stop to get on and off (and the right direction!). Although the city is easily explored by foot getting an unlimited pass gives u flexibility to go where you want when you want and avoid walking back on yourself! No alcohol no problem as there's an Albert heign and Lidl 5mins walk! No fridge though in hotel so get UHT! Nespresso machine great.
"Wonderful second visit "
This is my second stay at the hotel and would not stay anywhere else in Amsterdam. Great rooms, great staff, would highly recommend. Easy to get to the centre of Amsterdam by public transport and there are a lot of little restaurants and shops a short walk from the hotel.
