"Good location for museum's"
Good location for people wanting to visit the National History museum, Harrods and the V and A as they are just a few minutes down the road. Good sound proofing on the room but the AC unit in the actual room was very noisy. Very small rooms but that is standard in London, clean and the breakfast buffet had an reasonable selection. Friendly helpful staff.
"Good value in London"
Second time at the BW Cromwell Steet and stayed for two nights over remembrance weekend. Got good value room rates with breakfast via web search. Close to Royal Albert Hall and South Kensington and Gloucester Road tubes very close. Room was a basement one and better than the one we had to change last time due to mustiness. The room had been re-furnished and whilst small, was quiet and well enough equipped. Staff friendly and helpful with a couple of niggles. Only real down side was the only mirror was a full length one in the hallway with no electric socket. Ended up taking it off the wall and moving it into the bedroom near a socket so my wife could dry her hair!! Breakfast was quite good, everything you could really expect for the price (full english + continental bits and pieces) although some fresh fruit salad and more up-market bread would not have gone amiss. Overall, for the price, very reasonable and we would definitely stay here again.
The Cromwell is near a tube stop (5 min walk), is clean, has a nice staff, has a small bar, and is near a few good restaurants and pubs. Rooms are generally small but not out of line with other London hotels. I would recommend this for couples or single travelers.
This hotel is situated perfectly for the museums of London. It is very close to a tube station and lies on the Piccadilly Line so easy to get to theatre district and Covent Garden. The hotel itself is great. A continental and full English breakfast buffet was included in the price and staff are very friendly and helpful. We arrived at about 10.30am and we were able to get straight in to the room. There is a small bar which serves drinks but no meals. I will definitely stay here again, I haven't rated a 5* simply because it doesn't have many facilities and our room was down on the basement level meaning our view was a brick wall, it would have been nice to have one of the rooms on a higher floor over looking the street.
"Good for a one night or short business stay"
Although I have stayed here before it is really a hotel for short business stays when you are likely to be spending most of your time in meetings and looking for somewhere to sleep at night. The rooms are fairly basic with sometimes small and awkward shaped bathrooms. I had a garden room (which had a large decked outside area but as it was the beginning of December I was unable to use that and in fact the patio door would not close completely so the room was very cold until you started up the heating/AC - in fact it had a small oil filled radiator to help so the hotel knew of the problem but had not sorted a permanent solution. Bed was comfortable but due to the cold felt a little damp - but that may have just been the coldness - unfortunately I was woken at 1am by what sounded like a fight in a room near mine with someone banging into the wall - I was just unlucky that time as previously had not had any problems like that at all. The Breakfast is fairly basic but has all the attributes of both English and Continental type food, staff did try their best to help and were friendly but the hotel itself was a little below expectations at this visit - but not enough to stop me going again if I was in need of a one or two night stay.
