"Great Location, however didn't receive the room as what was pictured"
We booked this hotel through bookings.com (wouldn't recommend this site now) as we thought we would get the exact room as pictured (as we paid for it) , we got a really small room (seriously no room to move luggage too small) Room was clean however there was no pressure at all with the shower, the staff are really friendly and it was a really great location
"Decent hotel in central location"
Convenient location close to Gloucester Road tube station and many restaurants. But the hotel is just averige, don't expect too much. We had a twin room on 4th floor, facing the street. Surprisingly quiet! And the sleeping quality was better than expected. The hotel could be improved quite easily: just get rid of the horrible carpets on the floor! Otherwise the cleanliness of the room is fine. The hotel has 2 lifts. Only one of them worked. If you get lost easily and have trouble walking, then this is not your hotel. Full of halls and stairs. One day the lift didn't work, and it was not very pleasant to walk up the stairs. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is hard to beat if you intend to visit the museums, Royal Albert Hall and other Kensington sights. The tube is right across the street. Heathrow Airport is only 35 minutes away by tube.
"Lovely service "
Staying here just now and just wanted the thank the lovely young man in reception who changed my room for one with not only a window that opens but a small balcony very rare in London never had one in the 20 years I have been coming here for work...yes the rooms are small but really what do you expect in London good value for money in my experience if I get this room when I come here in the future I will be happy thanks again to your lovely man in reception very helpful .....
"One of the worst"
We stayed in this hotel for one Saturday night whilst in London for a night out. As other people commented rooms are tiny. Air Con made such a noise it had to be turned off. We had room 211 maybe check the air con if you use this room. Cleanliness for a 4 star hotel was extremely poor. The 24 hour bar closed at midnight which was bad for a Saturday night in London. Breakfast room is smaller than what people are commenting on you can't move and there are not many tables. I would hate to see it when the hotel is busy. Tables were not cleared and we had to set up our own table. Food was terrible and like they say not much choice. I wanted to complain to the manager but was told there wasn't one and the person I spoke to was in charge which is probably why it's in such a state. This was the first and last time at a Best Western hotel. It is not worthy of 4 stars.
Room 207(aka broom cupboard) I was really disappointed with this Best Western Hotel. I regularly stay in hotels for work and where possible stay with Best Western as have found them to be good value for money, however, in all of the hotels I have stayed in this room was the smallest by far.In my opinion it was unsuitable for 2 people. Negatives: Room was very very small - there was barely any room to walk around the bed. The toilet was so close to the shower cubical glass (fixed) it was impossible to sit facing forward. One curtain was hanging off. The pulling system to close the curtains was broken and it was not possible to pull them across manually. I reported this at reception as we went out for the evening and the receptionist said she would get it fixed. The maintenance team arrived at 9 am the following morning to fix it - we had to ask them to come back later as we were not dressed and there wasn't enough room for any additional people to come in the room while we were there. The curtain was rehung while we were out but the pulley wasn't fixed and so we were still unable to close the curtains!! The room was very cold when we arrived and when we put on the air conditioning to heat the fan was really noisy, even when we switched it to its lowest level. We were unable to sleep with it on or hear the TV as it was so noisy. Breakfast - The breakfast room was very small and when I was sat at the table it was difficult for people to walk behind me. The room was very warm. there was a lack of plates, glasses and cutlery and I had to ask for each, when the staff replenished they were bringing out 2 or 3 cups, plates at a time. There was a good selection of fruit and yogurts. The bacon and scrambled eggs trays were empty. The staff looked very unhappy and although they weren't speaking English they were clearly having a heated exchange. The only time I saw one of them smile was while she was telling two guests that there were no tables. Positives The food tasted very good. The room was clean. The hotel location was very good for the Natural History, V&A and Science Museum and it was a pleasant stroll to Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. The hotel was close to the tube station.
