"Fantastic hotel, great staff throughout"
I recently stayed here with a friend for some r&r after a trekking holiday in Peru. From the minute we arrived at 6.00am, (our room was ready) to the minute we left we had excellent service, the food was fantastic, the spa clean and efficient with great therapists, the concierge Paul recommended some great activities without any pressure, the beach staff were attentive and quick to set our beds up, the hotel was spotless and all the staff without exception were polite and courteous. Nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others. We didn't use the pool as we preferred to go the beach which is just across the road. My only slight concern is that they are planning on doubling the size of the hotel in 2017 and I hope this doesn't take away the personal nature of the property.
Justin Witherspoon sat me down in such a good stop he was excited and kept a smile he didn't make me feel bad after I asked him to do a million things I just loved his services and I will be back to visit again I loved his professionalism and excitement to do his job😬
The Betsy is the perfect size hotel with good service. It has a lovely area outside for breakfast. The only negatives are that we had to call the get our room made up and the pool furniture is quite tired. Especially helpful we're the doorman, Wayne and the beach host Justin and crew. I would recommend it.
"Great Boutique Hotel"
We really had a good time at The Betsy. Nice and cosy atmosphere, in the middle of everything and still kind of quiet, great staff, everybody was there to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Just very little things that bothered: no croissants in the morning several times, lipstick on some of the cups, no beach service when we were told there was, room keys didn't work a couple of times - but really, that's some sort of nitpicking. We'll come back.
After a disappointing arrival to another hotel a couple a blocks away we set out on foot trying to find another hotel. We were tired and it was already evening. We stopped here and had a drink on the rooftop bar, it was a perfect treetop view of the palm trees and the ocean. It was a full moon and the reflection on the ocean was spectacular. We asked about room availability and got a personal tour of the ( limited) room available by Hendrick. The hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel ( expansion is under construction now). Get ocean/east facing room. The chef and pastry chef are awesome. We ate there more often than we normally do at our hotel. Wonderful popovers...we could smell them baking while at the pool. Surprise... it had a nice length of pool to do laps and it was SALT WATER, my first experience with this...absolutely wonderful, natural and relaxing. You can float effortlessly and relax. The salt ratio is like your tears so it doesn't burn and you can open your eyes underwater and no irritation. Pool outdoor shower is great. The room was so lovely, simple, elegant and beautiful. The closet was large so you can put everything away including luggage. Lovely upscale front hotel balcony for relaxing and eating and people watching. You don't need a car unless you plan on going a significant distance. They have bus service on the next street over so you could use this also bike rentals nearby.
