"Classic old Beverly Hills in need of a little TLC"
The Beverly Wilshire is a throwback hotel to days of yesteryear however its in need of a little tender loving care by its owners to the physical structure. The staff are first rate and deserve an infrastructure that they can get behind. I realize its expensive to maintain an old hotel but if you're the owner you got to do it.
"not what we expected"
As fans of Four Seasons and having been guests in different locations in UK, France, Asia and South Africa we were disappointed about this hotel. Not what we expected. We consciously booked a Rodeo View studio (a couple of months ago), looking for one big room with an overview of the Rodeo Drive. The hotel obviously gave away such a room before we arrived and upgraded us to a Wilshire Suite. Sounds great, however now we got two small and dark rooms which we didn't need, on a lower floor with a very boring view. After we complained, they promised to give us the room we booked the next day. For a three day trip to change the room on the second day is not what you want to do. The Rodeo View Studio was much better and came much closer to our expectation. However if you know other Four Seasons (outside US), this one looked old fashioned with limited amenities (i.e. no espresso machine). Because of the inconvenience of the first night they offered a discount of one meal we had ($ 116.- ). Not very generous for a rate of $ 1046.- / night. But this mindset to be very narrow minded also was seen in different occasions. When we ordered our American Breakfast (included in the rate) and asked for a second cup of coffee we had to pay extra and when we asked for additional onions in our scrambled eggs they added $ 1.- (one!). Ridiculous. In summary we didn't feel as valued guests. No complaints about people in the service (restaurant, housekeeping), they are very friendly and doing well.
"An Iconic land mark hotel, filled with charm and elegance old world and modern side by side."
Usually my one choice when visiting Los Angeles on Business, recently staying I was shocked that my preferences where still in the computer five years on.Elegant foyer top class staff and concierge, older rooms in the front and more modern facing the pool in the second wing.Excellent steak house on site, great rooms and facilities expected of a top class hotel like this.Lively bar scene and watch the "A" list from here while sipping a Martini, great lunch menu and evening specials.Just simply First Class and expensive, you get what you pay for so go and enjoy it.
"couple of day stay before cruise"
well we booked this hotel because of the film pretty women, great hotel ,service great all you could ask for , we was showed round the pretty woman suite and was ask if i would like to stay in the suite for a small fee of $7,000 which i replied is that for 2 night and i was told it was for each night , any way bit rich for me , we stayed in the beverly Wiltshire suite, very large and plenty of room , but a bit dated could do with a refurb, all in all great hotel and a great location , would have like to stay a few extra night but when on a cruise, if i was passing LA in any way i would stay there again
"Last stop and anniversary celebration "
Amazing place to stay. Beautiful room and the spa was just wonderful. The service was excellent. Rather pricey but well worth it. The cafe dining room had great variety of snacks. Our room looks out to Rodeo drive and Tiffany & co.
