"FIVE STAR ALL THE WAY!!! Everything we had expected and More!"
We had very high expectations of the Beverly Wilshire and they did not disappoint! We stopped there for one night after my 5-day conference in Santa Monica, on our way to Universal Studios and Disneyland with the kids. Everything about the hotel was amazing! They contacted me several times via email once we made the reservation to anticipate any needs we might have, make recommendations for the area, etc. I was also able to check-in online the morning of arrival. When we got there the valet warmly greeted us and whisked away our luggage. They gave us all cold bottled waters. It is a gorgeous, classic hotel just as it looks in photos. The very polite and professional young man at the front desk offered us an upgrade from one suite room to another larger one, and it was wonderful. The room was incredibly well appointed and spacious. The beds were so comfortable and the bathroom was huge with both a tub and a shower, a large sink area and a makeup/vanity. There was a minibar which we didn't use. The pool was super-nice but we only enjoyed it briefly in the evening. I'd highly recommend spending some time there during the day as it was even prettier with the California sun shining down on it! I would have hesitated to take our kids there during the day since they are ages 4 and 9 and I think some of the patrons would have preferred a quiet restful time at the pool without our kids there. I didn't really see any other children at the hotel although the staff was very gracious with us and our kids! My only slight complaint is that my husband and I thought the breakfast downstairs was not the same caliber as the hotel. The waiter was excellent and the atmosphere was lovely, but my pancakes were burned and my daughter's waffle was hard and overcooked. Overall the food was nothing special. We didn't complain as I'm certain they would have remade the pancakes and the waffle, but we didn't want to take the time to bother. (It was about $145 for breakfast in case you were wondering) The overall experience at the hotel was truly special and I would highly recommend staying there! It is an easy walk to Rodeo drive and was also conveniently located near the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese theater, etc. There are tons of nice restaurants there to choose from within walking distance. If we go back to Beverly Hills we will definitely stay again. Thanks to everyone on staff for making our stay so much fun!
"Excellent Front Reception Staff"
Eugenie, the Front office Manager could not have been more helpful. We needed to change rooms because our college aged daughter wanted to stay with us. Even though the Hotel was 100% occupied she worked for over an hour to facilitate our request. The "BW Studio" was a very nice room.
"Elegant and great service"
It's to be expected at an establishment like this to have good service and they delivered. I spent two nights here while traveling on business and was not disappointed. The room was comfortable and the staff was exceptional. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Beverly Hills.
Normally when I go to Los Angeles I stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel; this time I wanted to try the Beverly Wiltshire. Before I arrived at the hotel I contacted the General Manager to address some of the negative reviews I had read here on Trip Advisor - he put me in touch with Victoria, who did a great job of allaying some of my concerns. Victoria met me when I arrived and upgraded me to a suite. The suite had a large bedroom, sitting room and bathroom, but it was a dull and uninspiring with no design finesse or creativity - it was surprisingly basic on so many levels, with no frills. I am glad I did not pay the full price for the accommodation! The pool area is very small, and we had to queue and wait for sunbeams, which was most disappointing considering that the eight cabanas available at US$450 a day were empty - what is more important: the hotel guests or profiting from non-residents/ Yes, there are physical limitations to the pool area that dicta how much space there is available, but this should not be at the expense of hotel residents. On our first morning we ordered two coffees and three biscuits (Cookies) through room service - please see the photos of the attached receipts. As you will see the cost was US$50!! How this can be justified I do not know. The following day we had breakfast outside the hotel! I did e-mail Victoria about this but there was no reply which speaks volumes about her embarrassment, I am sure. The great thing about this hotel should be the location - you can step outside and be somewhere for coffee, dining and shopping. however, as a recent convert to Uber and the ease of getting about I will now revert to the Beverly Hills Hotel. We are now staying at an hotel in Los Cabos in Mexico (Las Ventanas al Paraiso) where they understand that a few small, thoughtful extras make for a proper five star experience.
"Elegant and Majestic"
One of the oldest hotels in Beverly hills, still has its charm albeit dated.Entrance lobby is elegantly decorated with typical four seasons flower arrangements, the staff is extremely professional and courteous. The service is excellent, the location perfect. Close to a lot of restaurants, shopping and attractions. My room however did not measure up to the rest of the hotel. I had a balcony room on the 9th floor. The view from my balcony was breathtaking. The decor was outdated, the bed was squeaky, every time my husband or I turned it would squeak. The bathroom was small with one sink and a very difficult jacuzzi tub to get in and out. I personally would like to see a stand up shower as well. I hope they would consider upgrading the rooms. Otherwise everything else is excellent.
