The hotel is nice. The location is great - it's not in the city center (where the canals are) but frankly, that's for the best. The walls are so thin that you can hear everything going on in the hallway and outside - conversations, doors closing, sneezes. If it was in the center, you'd never get to sleep. The staff were helpful and friendly. There were lights on the exterior of the hotel pointing into our room; the curtains didn't close entirely so it was impossible to block the light out. I asked if they would turn out those lights at night and, to my surprise, they did. It was very nice of them.
"Love the location and staff are wonderful"
This hotel is perfectly situated in the centre of Amsterdam museum, shopping and eating district. PROS Location location location! The staff are lovely, universally friendly and helpful Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable and not too cramped for 2 people CONS The breakfast is expensive at 16 euros, is OK, very average - better to eat out There is work being done to the street outside but we had a room at the back so it didn't affect us at all. We would have no hesitation recommending this hotel and would stay again.
"Great location, Staff is very accommodating."
We stayed in room 507 (last floor) for a week (without breakfest). The room was OK: PROS: - Great bath (fits one person) - bed was wide and very comfortable. - Minibar - Cleanliness CONS: The major one is the room's size. the room was too small for 2 tourist with their luggage. - door opens only 2/3 way - not enough closet space - That caused is to keep using our baggage (nowhere to store them), and it took a lot of space in an already pretty tight room. the room comes with 2 sofa chairs and a glass table. it was nice to have - although, again, very crowded. All in all, it's a nice 4 stars hotel in a good location - the room was clean with good bed - but crowded.
"Superb in every respect."
This was our first hotel after taking the red-eye from the USA. It is a very nice, quiet neighborhood in the area of the museums. The staff are simply wonderful, very very helpful. The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated, and the bathrooms modern and clean. We spent a few nights here getting over jet-lag and touring the city. One of the staff, Medi, (sorry of I misspelled his name) provided us with several recommendations for restaurants, all of which we loved. We will stay here again when we return to Amsterdam.
"In the heart of the art"
Firstly this hotel has a perfect location if you want to visit the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum, Vondelpark or the designer shops. Just a couple of minutes walk to any of them. We travelled from the airport by train and tram both parts of the journey taking about twenty minutes each. So why have I only judged the hotel average' For two reasons; I stayed in a single room which was very small. The wetroom/toilet had a hand held shower head and the water spread all around. I had a breakfast at the hotel on the first morning for 16 euros but found it to be average and chose to have breakfast at the nearby 'Blushing Amsterdam ' on the second day - beautiful. The second problem was the roadworks outside. The noise started at 6.45 am and there was no warning from the hotel that this would happen. Of course the hotel cannot be responsible for this work but this did impact on the stay. I should add a couple more positives...I found the wifi to be reliable in the room and the television channels included BBC.
