"Best free Wi-Fi in São Paulo "
I was impressed by the free Wi-Fi in the hotel. Typically free Wi-Fi in Brazilian hotels is terrible in terms of speed and availability. Breakfast was average and rooms ad nice. Left most elevator is mind boggling after a long flight. Tip: after inserting the key and room # hit confirm!
"OK, nothing special, reasonable price"
NEUTRAL. I stayed at this property due to proximity (walking) to the office. Considering traffic in Sao Paulo, this is a worthy consideration. The hotel is a business class hotel, however, if suffers from a lack of investment. My 2* rating is based upon my worldwide standard and not what the typical norm for this area. The pluses are few here. The hotel is in a nice & safe neighborhood. There are numerous excellent eateries walking distance. The hotel is quite clean. Rooms are mostly well illuminated. Bedding was fine. The negatives. The rooms are large but sparsely furnished with dated furniture. My desk chair didn't work. Free Internet was slow (upgrade available). There were Brazilian electric outlets at the desk area (not universal). No in-room coffee or water kettle. There was significant street noise despite well-insulated glass windows (which opened). Note I was on the 4th floor (there are 20+ floors here). Bathroom, while clean, had slow drains (noted this in 2 rooms I visited) but were small and need an overhaul. The gym/pool is on the top floor (nice view). More a splash pool, very small and again uninspiring. In short - the room just didn't feel comfortable and welcoming. I only stayed a single night, but arriving at 10 pm after dinner, there was no power in ANY room (the elevators and hallways had generator power) and no mention or notice by the staff (luck I had my own flashlight). Power was restored sometime during the night. Reservations by email were quickly responded to, however, they never responded to a notice of change in my arrival date (more below). Check-in was reasonable and friendly. At check-out, a rather unfriendly male desk manager wanted to charge me a no-show on the first night. Only after I unpacked my laptop, connected to the Internet and showed him the email to his reservation department did he agree to remove the charge. He still didn't seem happy though (like it's his money') This chain is local and not super expensive so my experience may be a local norm. The biggest negative was the street noise and if you're here try to go higher and towards the back.
The hotel is good enough for business, good service, but great location. Close to nice bars, restaurants and shopping centers. The gym is pretty good with great views of Sao Paulo. The staff is very friendly, and the conference rooms and ammenities are very helpful in regards to the presentations.
"Very pleasant stay."
The Blue Tree Premium Faria Lima was a very good choice for a short business trip. Very nice room and bathroom, comfortable and clean, very good wifi, wonderful location, close to good restaurants, walking distance to shopping centres. I would definitely stay there again.
