"Great location, not so great hotel"
My wife and I were disappointed with this hotel. Although the rooms were quite large, the bathroom really needs renovation and good cleaning. The shower was not pleasant at all. They also advertise upon arrival that they have a free shuttle to the night bazaar. When we inquired about this with the front desk, we were told that the shuttle was cancelled but that they would pay for our taxi instead. When we came back later in the evening to go, the gentleman at the front desk told us the shuttle was cancelled and that we would need to figure out our own transportation. I would not recommend it to other travelers and would not stay here again. There are plenty of other boutique hotels in the area with much better quality.
"Great Boutique Hotel in the old city"
I recently stayed here with my family after a tour of the north of Thailand. It was a wonderful hotel to come back to after some days of roughing it! The rooms are large, cool and nicely decorated, with a lovely balcony. Very comfortable bed. The pool was fantastic, and we eat at the restaurant twice, which was lovely. The hotel provides a free transfer one way to the airport, which was great as we had 8 people in our travelling group. Staff were very helpful and warm. Would definitely come back here again. Great central location.
"Not sure I would stay here again"
Not sure how this is rated 4 star. We have a premium room where the bed is queen size and the room itself is quite nice and of a good size. The tv reception is poor and the air conditioning makes a noise where it is trying to regulate the temperature so our first nights sleep was disturbed. There is a huge round bath tub which is the nicest thing in the bathroom. The shower cubicle feels a bit icky so we used our rubber slippers whilst in it. The shower head needs a good clean and no more can be said about that. The pool was covered in insects first thing so we waited for kids to splash around in it before getting in. Breakfast offered a reasonable choice but you eat on the patio in the heat. Some of the fresh veg were left uncovered and therefore had a range of little insects on it. Beer and cocktails are cheap here. The hotel is a little outdated. The fridge in our room had been left on low so there was a nice puddle of water that we had to clear. Reception staff can speak some English but the maid cleaning our room could not.
"Ok, but not the best"
This place is OK, but given the level of service around this price range elsewhere, it's difficult to review it kindly. For a start, we booked on agodo on the understanding that we would pay on our stay. In fact my card was billed a week before checking in. Their website quotes free airport transfer. My partner emailed them with our flight details- no response. We rang on the day to be told that because we booked via a website there was a 500 baht charge - we just went along with this, but have since found out that a taxi would have been 120 baht. Drinks at poolside are expensive. We didn't eat there. When we dialled for ice at 10.30pm, we were told the kitchen was closed. I wouldn't say this place was characteristic of Thai service.
Service and room get good marks - everyone was friendly and helpful, everyone spoke English too. Very clean, good bed and shower. Restaurant was not open for dinner, but breakfast had adequate selections available. Very good location.
