of TripAdvisor Travelers recommend this hotel
This hotel is in a very good location and the staff are pleasant. That's all I can say on a positive note. It's dark, uninviting and lacks atmosphere in the public areas. The bedrooms are trying to be artistic and different but it doesn't work - style over substance I would say, it all looks a bit tacky. Breakfast is basic. The lift was broken for the duration of our stay and we were locked out in the evening as nobody had explained there was a "curfew".
"Borghese Palace Art Hotel"
This hotel is great if you want a central base close to all the major sights of Florence. Friendly, helpful staff, clean an tidy rooms (The one we had was small, but very well equipped and ideal for the three nights we stayed) Breakfast was really good, great variety and superb coffee as you'd expect in Italy! One drawback was the lift! I noted from another review before we travelled that the lift not working was a problem, and it looks like the problem is maybe more permanent than the hotel lets on! We were on the third floor, so it was a bit of a bind. Would still recommend the hotel however, as the lift was the only fault we could find.
"Friendly helpful staff"
This is a great location and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The hotel is lovely but has one serious drawback. My room was at the back of the hotel facing via Dell' Agnolo. There is an after-hours bar/pub that's not related to the hotel, that spills onto the street between 11 pm and 6 am, at least on the Friday and Saturday nights I was there. Hotel staff can't do anything about this but the noise comes into the room. Staff tell the patrons to move away from the hotel bar entrance but can't stop the pub patrons from spilling into the street. Not even double-glazed windows could help. It was hard to sleep. I assume there are rooms at the front of the hotel so ask for a room on via Ghibellina.
"Lovely hotel good location"
We stayed in a family room, it was spacious and the bed was the most comfortable I have had in a hotel ever.the air conditioning was through a mobile unit, but very efficient (and it was hot hot hot outside) staff we helpful and gave us several nice recommendations. The spa is a bit of a token gesture, even my young son cynically suggested it was to up the star ratings! We saw no one use it and it felt uncomfortable when we went to look at it. This hotel is just what you imagine a boutique hotel to be quirky, fun and the central lift is a feature in itself. Breakfast was nice, but slightly more limited than I have had in similar places, nothing stood out and space for 4 of us was not always easy to find. Location is great it's ten minutes walking distance of everywhere. Taxi costs to and from the airport are fixed and easy to get. Some elements of the room felt a bit tatty and it could do with a little attention, but it didn't distract from the lovely stay we had. I would recommend this to others.
"Fantastic location in the heart of Florence"
Our 4 night holiday to Florence was immeasurably helped by this artistically themed hotel's close location to nearly every place we wished to go. Service was very, very friendly. Our room was very, very spacious. Decor throughout the hotel was a dark, baroque theme. We would have given 5 stars were it not for the fact that the bar wasn't open (but with the number of bars nearby this wasn't a big downer) and for the lift being out of action for over 24 hours. We'd come here again, though!
