"Charming and accomodating"
My husband and I have just returned from an 11-day stay at the Borghese Palace. Our first time to Italy...actually to Europe, we were visiting our daughter who is studying abroad this semester. We chose this property for several reasons: it's close proximity to our daughter's home, the star rating, and location convenience to tourist attractions. When you spend 11 consecutive days at a property, you can claim to know what you're talking about in regard to reviews. We could not have been more pleased. The staff was warm, gracious and accommodating. The lobby was filled with interesting photography and objects d'art and appointed with a mixture of elegant and modernistic furniture. A light breakfast was offered daily and offered us a relaxing start to the day. And the property has a small bar area with a limited drink menu available as well. We booked a 'Junior Suite' and in my opinion, by European standards it fit the bill. The room was spacious, clean and functional. The roomy armoire was very nice, though there were only four hangers (but I feel sure I could've received more had I asked). The bathroom area was roomy and clean, but could use a bit more lighting and a larger shower. Overall, a wonderful experience. I wouldn't hesitate to return to this property.
"Not able to sleep - noise in the street all night"
Excellent location, friendly and helpfull staff, style interesting. Only one important issue, too much noise from the street below throughout the night (until 6 am) on Friday and Saturday nights made the visit a nightmare.
"It could be so nice"
The location of the hotel is just excellent if you want to visit the historical Florence. When you arrive in the hotel, it looks nice, simultaneously classical and modern. The reception desk is located at the very entrance, so there is somebody to welcome you. When you enter the bedroom, it looks large and nicely decorated, very clean, and it is very welcoming. I could say : it is warm. I must say : very warm. Temperature was 29,5° And when I mentioned the problem, the answer was : sorry, there is no air conditionning. I have never been able to tune the thermostat properly. During the four nights, it was impossible to go under 23,5°. I the room was a very large bed, and a little one. I dont want to sleep with my mother, so I used the little bed. Maybe it is a good one for kids, but not for a grown up. Although I am 71 kg, (is it heavy ') I could feel in my back every spring of the matress. The window is light : I mean that you hear everything that is sayed outside. And because my room window was just by the lift, you hear a lot. Bathroom is not large. Shower is small, and nothing is set to put soap or shampoo. I looked for tissues, but there was none. I must add that the door knob was not screwed properly and that it fell down several times. In addition to this, the shower hose was not protected at the end, and if you involuntarily pinched it, you had no more water. After a long walking in the city, you appreciate a cup of a warm beverage. In a 4 star hotel, it is customary to find de kettle in the room or in the lobby with some tea or coffee to brew. Nothing but plain water... To sum up : location, people, decoration, cleanliness are very good. But so many details do not fit with a 4 stars hotel. That is a pity, but plenty of improvements are possible : isn't that nice '
"Second time and still great"
The hotel only has 25 rooms so for people like myself who like smaller hotels it is perfect. 2 minute walk to the center or Florence, this hotel is really in a great location. The rooms are clean and the beds are really comfy, i got a great nights sleep both nights there. The staff as like last time were excellent and just so helpful i cannot express this enough. I will be staying here again on my next trip to Florence i would highly recommend
"Valentine's at Borghese Palace Art Hotel"
Lovely friendly welcome, very knowledgeable staff and so centrally located. An ideal boutique hotel for tourists wanting to be a stones throw from all of Florence's main attractions. Had a great time.
