It was an all round delightful stay in a gem of a medieval manor house - fantastic architecturally, great room, good food/restaurant selection, extensive whisky selection, great looking spa (not used this time)
"Absolutely Perfect Break!"
I could not rate this place higher, 5 star for a reason, absolutely stunning, inside and out. Reception staff very polite and helpful. Spa - Being able to use the spa before we could check in to our room was the perfect start to our break. The quality of the facilities are fantastic, so much to do and not crowded at all. The restaurant upstair do the yummiest hot chocolates. Room - My partner had booked the four poster room, which was beautiful and full of character, which a jacuzzi bath, with added chocolates and rose petals which made it even more special. Dinner - We went for the 3 courses but while waiting for our starters we were given 3 sets of 'surprise canopies' then served warm oat and honey bread rolls which was a lovely additions. Waiters were lovely and always topped our drinks, if i was to be picky our bottled water (£3.50 a bottle) were not chilled. The starter main and dessert were beautifully presented and so full of flavour. Lovely view from our table. Overall outstanding! While we had gone for dinner we came back to lavender fudge and calming balm on our bed which was a really lovely touch from the staff. Treatment - Back Shoulder Massage and Facial. Have never felt so relaxed the room was so atmospheric and the oils used smelt amazing. Alex did my treatment who was really friendly, the BEST massage I've had, every part was so relaxing. The relaxation room afterwards was stunning. You need to book this place, SO SO perfect, will definitely be coming back, hopefully later in the year.
"Wonderful place very minor niggles"
Stayed one night, treated like royalty, Stayed in room 50 and for about 45 mins there was a loud humming from behind the wardrobe, which kept us awake, just as we were about to ring reception it stopped. I think hash browns are not in keeping with the image of hotel and should be replaced on breakfast menu. The spa was amazing!!
"Words escape me..."
Because we just loved absolutely everything about Boringdon Hall. We chilled out in the spa, enjoyed superb food and wine and forgot ourselves for a while. It's really quite a special place ~ Thank you
"Beautiful on the outside...are your staff ok'"
The enchanted place on the hill, so atmospheric, beautiful, truly like stepping back in time; the room was clean and comfortable, we had a lovely sleep and the receptionists were charming and helpful. In the restaurant, the meal was delicious although there was a smell of BO in the restaurant. I felt annoyed by the presence of the waitress, she was speaking to us in an annoying and patronising tone and I felt like reminding her that we were guests and not baby's. we saw the same young girl around for the breakfast at 7:00 as we did also see for the late evening dinner, did she get to go home'
