We thoroughly enjoyed our stay...the only negative aspect to the room would be that the fridge was not cold enough.Comment of M. Darren , United Kingdom the 2015-03-27

The best hotel i have ever stayed in! on entry to the hotel you will be speechless! the hotel staff did everything they could to make our stay the best possible. The Cafe takes you into a world that many will never experience. such beauty and history - it really is the oldest and most beautoiful cafe in the world. Hotel Location is amazing - the hop on/hop off stop is just outside the hotel and plenty of restaurants, bars and shops only a few minutes walk from hotel... I could continue to praise the hotel - its def 5* - all i would say is GO EXPERIENCE IT!!!!Comment of L. Karl , United Kingdom the 2013-12-03

Sehr schönes Hotel welches ich gerne weiterempfehlen kann allerdings hört man in den zur Hauptstraße gelegenen Zimmer den Verkehr - insbesondere Straßenbahn.Comment of R. Andreas , Germany the 2013-12-01
Albergo bellissimo, in palazzo storico, camere grandi ed eleganti. Posizione semi centrale ma funzionale . Il punto forte: la colazione servita al New York cafè vale da sola il prezzo della camera!Comment of R. Simone , Italy the 2013-11-22
"Stunningly beautiful inside and out!"
We had spent the week at the Courtyard property down the street by using Marriott Rewards points, but had one night left on our stay in Budapest and no more points left to redeem. I had researched the differences between the Boscolo and the Marriott, particularly as a Platinum Rewards member. The consensus was the Boscolo, hands down, and I am thrilled with our choice and experience! Our two teenage sons were speechless upon entry to the elegant entry and lobby. ("Are you sure we're in the right place'") Although our rooms were not ready at our early arrival, the customer-service minded front desk employee completed the check-in process and arranged for our luggage to be stored with the bell desk. He also gave us detailed recommendations for sightseeing on a city map. We were upgraded to 2 junior suites that were huge and the epitome of luxury. Our rooms looked exactly like the ones on the hotel website and it made it hard to go back out into the city for final sightseeing when you just wanted to relax in such beautiful surroundings. The experience of the breakfast buffet in the New York Cafe was dampened by the staff informing me that only 1 of my rooms was eligible for the complimentary breakfast due to platinum status. I had specifically asked this at the front desk when checking in the day before and was assured that it would apply to the 4 in my family for both rooms. She called up for further guidance and we were escorted to a table, but my 13-year old son felt sad that it was his fault that there was an issue because he was the 3rd person (big brother opted to sleep in and miss out on breakfast). The buffet offered a wide variety of choices in food and beverage in an unbelievably beautiful setting. Highly recommended accommodations for a special occasion or visit to Budapest. The setting is so elegant inside and out and all of the staff (with the exception of the breakfast employee) were friendly and helpful. I know that others may be on the fence for booking because the hotel is not located in the prime Danube area, but the Boscolo (and the nearby Courtyard we stayed for the rest of our stay) are adjacent to the Blaha Lujza tér metro station and it was literally only a few short minutes to any point in the city that we wished to visit.
"Pure luxury and fabulous helpful staff"
When we travel, we like to mix the style and quality of the places we stay. In Budapest, we splurged by staying in the Boscolo Hotel. It’s a one-stop trip on the local underground from the main railway station. The advice from the information office at the main station was to take the underground for three minutes and three Euros and then walk one block to the Boscolo or pay thirty Euros for a taxi. There’s no choice. Go the underground. It’s easy. Just make sure you validate the ticket in the subway so you don’t get fined. There are station helpers near the validation machines so it’s straightforward. The Boscolo is old style luxury accommodation, European Style. It was amazing. The grand foyer looked like something from a lush film production. Our executive suite had several areas--bedroom and lounge--that almost required some form of transport to get from one side of the apartment to the other. On top of that, it had a balcony that ran the width of the accommodation with a sweeping view of the surrounding area. As a once-in-a-while splurge, why not' We deserve it. And so do you. Make sure you check out the dining room, the one with all the chandeliers, as one would expect, oooooh, luxury. You don’t have to dine there because, as a guest, that’s where you eat breakfast in the morning and the range of food is fabulous, from cereals and yoghurts to fruit, eggs any style you like and, well, a whole lot more. For dinner and lunch, we found a range of cafes in the ruin bar areas that had a street feel and lovely local food. We also had drinks in the small bar upstairs and to the side of the main dining area. If you’re looking to indulge yourself, this is the place. This staff are super. Nothing was too much trouble. We had an issue with a booking for an attraction in Budapest. We couldn’t speak Hungarian, so the staff made enquiries in Hungarian while we explored Budapest. On our return to the hotel, the problem was sorted, even though the booking had nothing to do with the hotel. Top service.
"Central, stunning, impeccable service"
We chose to stay at the Boscolo Budapest after having stayed at the Boscolo Prague where we were really impressed by the hotel chain. In short: This is a stunning building! The service is absolutely top notch. The rooms have fabric walls and are quite well soundproofed. The breakfast is excellent. Details: The building has a lot of history, it is absolutely gorgeous, extremely opulent and luxurious. THE LOCATION is very good, just a short walk from the very happening Jewish quarter, with its awesome 'ruin' bars. There is public transportation: metro, trams, bus stops within 2 minutes walk of the hotel and a 'hop on hop off' bus stop right outside the door. THE ROOMS are spacious, they have everything you need, down to the detail of having an adapter plug already in the room. We asked for a quiet room as I had read on tripadvisor that the front rooms can be noisy (it is on a fairly noisy Main Street) We were given a room overlooking the inner courtyard, and it was very quiet, the only sound that was occasionally heard were sirens. The black out curtains are excellent, and the beds are comfortable. (There is a pillow menu, though I didn't see a latex pillow option, the anti-allergy pillow is a good substitute and there are a few memory foam pillows) The bathroom is beautiful. A very large, deep bath was a real treat, and there's a bidet opposite the toilet (with a little bottle of 'intimate' soap-nice touch) The hairdryer isn't very powerful. The building is not very 'user friendly' for smokers, there's no smoking room, or garden, so you have to smoke on the street. (I sat at the pub or restaurant a few steps away from the boscolo to smoke and have a very cheap drink) The breakfast has everything you could wish for and the service is impeccable. The famous New York Café is in the hotel, we didn't have a chance to eat there and there's a spa, but we didn't try it this time. I would definitely recommend staying here, but smokers should ask for a room with a balcony (I believe they have some)
"Very nice hotel, with an AMAZING Cafe."
