The hotel is close to great shopping and several fantastic restaurants. I stayed in room 2640 which was considered a Charles River view. It was a partial view at best. The premium charged for the room left me expecting much more.
"Great Location, Near Shopping and Newbury St Restaurants"
Even though the hotel appeared to be on the older side, it is very well maintained. The rooms were clean and functional. The location of the hotel was great. You can walk to the nearby gallery or mall all through covered walking tunnels. It's also walking distance to shops and restaurants on Newbury St. It was convenient to have a Starbucks in the hotel too. Nice central location would make me stay here again if I visit Boston for Leisure. If I go back on business and need to go to the BCEC, I would opt to stay at a closer hotel to avoid the cab ride everyday.
"Perfect Overnight Stay"
The Boston Marriott Copley Place is conveniently located right in the heart of Copley Square. I was only there for one night due to an early morning business meeting the next day, but would definitely go back. It is very easy to get to - directly off the Mass Pike and the staff was warm and friendly from the valet to the guest services to the concierge (Ken - he was great!). I would definitely recommend this hotel.
"A fine hotel but the $ is just too expensive"
I had stayed here ten years ago in the beginning of the summer season and paid a fraction of today's rate. The room was small but clean, updated and a very comfortable bed. The location for the area is paramount but there are other hotels in the area I found to be less expensive. The elevator system I found quite interesting and much speedier/convenient than when I stayed a decade ago. Parking is $40 per 24 hrs; staff is polite and helpful. I would recommend this hotel if you can find it in the $250 range ( I paid $440). The view is also a very cool addition and there is a major mall built into the structure. If you want to just shop and have to worry about lugging bags around it is for you. If you want to experience Boston you can find a much better value - try Tudor Wharf Residence Inn.
Full service Marriott with direct access to Copley Plaza. Rooms are traditional Marriott comfort, cleanliness, and dated design. Large sports bar, full service Starbucks, and express room service providing fresh menu options quickly and reasonably priced. Wifi, even high speed buy up, is incredibly slow. Bostonian service expected for a large business hotel.
