"I would not say it is a 4-star hotel"
Great location but, from my point of view, it does not reach the required quality to be labelled as a 4-star hotel. Rooms are tiny and walls are very thin. Service needs to improve a lot if they really want to be seen as a 4-star hotel. As an example, the night we checked-in, we asked for two sandwiches to be brought up to our room, well so the tray and dishes we used to eat our sandwiches were sitting outside of our room for two more days until someone finally cleaned it. Definitely something you don't expect from a 4-star hotel. Very disappointing, I would not go back if I ever visited Budapest again.
"Definately Not A 4 Star"
Just back from staying here for 4 days from 5th to 9th February, The hotel was clean enough but rooms were very small and beds hard and very low, wall very thin , you could hear the guests next door talking all night , plus noise from hallways outside rooms, there were 6 coathangers and nowhere to put your clothes so had to keep mine in suitcase which i nearly tripped over on way to toilet, there is about 6 inches on either side of bed to get round room, small tv on wall , breakfast wasnt good, cold bacon cold sausages and most of other warm food was cold , if you like tea and toast or cereal then you will be ok. Hotel was close to shops and bridge and Budapest itself was a lovely City. Just watch if you are going to Budapest and taking Taxi from Airport as there were a few people ripped off .
Stayed 3 nights bed and breakfast, quite a generous award of 4star but the stay was nice, room was basic but OK and staff friendly. Great location and very good breakfast. The shower was absolutely fantastic.
"The worst 4-star rated hotel I have ever experienced!"
I have to share with you my yesterday experience in this Bacon, sorry - Boutique hotel. We have booked the hotel on our way to Budapest (coming home from the holiday in Austrian Alpes via Hungary to stay one night there) and our decision was based on its really great reviews. Unfortunatelly, they were not true and we would never give four stars to this hotel. Whole the hotel is so dirty and old. It was maybe luxury and boutique style - but twenty years ago! Everyting there was like polished with bacon - GREASY. There are greasy handles, greasy furniture, greasy TV display in the room, greasy dishes in breakfast, greasy everything..... The room was small, dirty and old. The pillows are very big and hard - you will definitelly leave with a store neck. There was a mold in the shower!!! Which was extremely bad smelling and disgusting! The walls are made of paper - you hear someone pissing in next room while are you trying to sleep. The breakfast' As we were coming from the 4-star hotel from the Austria. we couldn't believe this hotel is rated equally with 4 stars! The breakfast menu was average, but you stopped to be hungry when you saw bacon-polished buttons on juicer, bacon polished dishes and bacons everywhere! I can not say nothing bad about the stuff of the hotel, but I will surely NEVER STEP INTO THIS HOTEL AGAIN!
This is right at the Liberty Bridge on the Pest side. Hotel is clean and breakfast satisfactory. The stuff fluent in English and very helpful. I cannot say the room was amazing because of its size and no view at all, but it is very clean and quiet. Famous Gellert thermal baths right after the bridge along the other great landmarks. There are many restaurants for all budgets around the hotel. You can walk anywhere and take public transportation is very close too. Over all it is a good place to stay without spending too much money.
