"Comfortable stay on a budget"
This hotel was affordable and comfortable. We arrived early before the posted check in time and a room was available for us. There was lots of construction going on in front of the hotel and all of George Street for that matter. The room was clean and comfortable. Upon departure the we inquired about booking the airbus to the airport that was advertised at the hotel and the clerk at the front desk said a taxi would be cheaper and he reserved a taxi for us the morning we left. The taxi fee was significantly higher than expected ($70 to airport). I feel that I was set up by the hotel staff. I sent a message to the hotel regarding my taxi experience and never received a response. This leads me to believe my assumption was correct that the hotel clerk and the taxi driver are working together. I would suggest Uber in Sydney and not 13Cabs or anything recommended by this hotel..
"Good family stay.."
We stayed at Breakfree on George for four nights. Our checkin was smooth, room was a l smaller than i has envisaged from website pic..however did the job, we were comfortable enough. The family rooms are only avail up to floor 7 so unfortuately we had a request for a high floor but this couldnt be granted. So our view was brick wall an some roofs. This was the only downside for us...but the good thing was it was very quiet! We didnt purchase the breakfast. The room has cups plates cutlery and has a stove top, microwave but i thought a larger fridge would be better for families, its just a bar fridge. A table with four chairs and the family room had two bathrooms & a small balcony. Its close to city centre, right in china town. Close to Chinese Gardens, Town Hall station, cinemas, supermarkets Coles and heaps of other cafes & restaurants. On departure we stored our baggage at reception...at no extra cost. When we returned they called us a taxi. Excellent service!
"Breakfree on George"
Helpful staff. Handy location! Darling harbour within easy walk. Great for the new International Convention Centre. Good for shopping and lots of places to eat. Just a quick ferry ride to Circular Quay.
Good staff clean room close to all entertainment areas and a short walking distance to Queen Victoria Building Starbucks coffee across the road and near Patie market and China town the area is very quiet
"3 star Quality"
Travel agent let us down on this one. For the price paid and the extra for breakfast, I wasn't expecting to leave the hotel in the morning to go and get our food + uncomfortable bed + roaring elevators next to beds.
