"An OK hotel on the beachfront."
I recently spent 3 days at this hotel and it as fine, if a little cramped. The place was very clean and well kept. The reception staff and the barman were all extremely friendly and welcoming. The food in the restaurant was quite expensive and not the best. The hotel overlooks the beach and n a sunny day I imagine it is excellent. We had 3 days of winds, rain and no sun. So it was a bit of a downer.
"Backup power when other hotels out of power"
We stayed here on the last night of the Olympics and man was it worth it after a bad experience at the previous hotel we were at. Staff was attentive and friendly. Later that night, a storm came in and blacked out most of the area. .....but not our hotel! They still had power when many hotels around were out of power. The staff had informed me that they had a backup generator going which was so helpful. In addition, our room was very clean and the bathrooms very spacious and clean. Only downside we had was on the top floors, you could really hear the wind blowing on the patio doors of room facing the ocean and that could be very annoying. Other than that, perfect stay!
"Small rooms with a beautiful view"
Stayed there during the Olympics. Looks like the hotel is brand new which is a plus. My room had a queen size bed plus a single one. The room itself is rather small. Not a lot of storage room. Had to keep stuff in the suitcase. The hair dryier is almost useless. Very little power. Better off bringing your own. Breakfast was good as also was the lunch buffet. All rooms had oceran views.
"Loved it! "
We stayed here for 6 nights just before the start of the Olympics. My son and I were part of a McDonald's kids program and this is the accommodation they chose... it was perfect! The staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful and there was always someone around who could speak English or help translate for us. The rooms were great, plenty of room for the two of us. Comfy beds and a bathroom with plenty of space. From what I can tell, most rooms have a view of the beach which is directly across the road. We ate plenty of meals in the restaurant, breakfast, lunch and dinner (buffet) and each time the options were plentiful, fresh and tasty. The hotel is in a very nice area with a service station/general store/ATM within 5 mins walking distance and a very large mall less than 10 mins taxi drive away. The pool area and bar is welcoming and relaxing, be sure to try a caipirinha!
Very nice hotel, friendly staff, clean rooms. Everything was nice about it most specially the view and the shower. We choose this hotel for our last two days in Rio because we new the area and new that would be easy to go to the Airport and away from the caos that is Rio de Janeiro more well known areas.
