"Great Family Hotel"
We have just come back from a weekend family stay in Bristol at the Marriott, It is the perfect location for shopping at Cabot Circus which we wanted to do. The hotel is lovely, clean, comfortable and somewhat luxurious. The bar is lovely and serves a great range of drinks. The rooms are a good size, very clean and cosy. The shower was lovely, just the right temperature. The staff are really lovely, nothing is too much trouble. Our youngest wasn't feeling very happy at breakfast so the girls did everything they could to cheer her up including getting her a colouring set. The parking is in the next door NCP but you get a discounted rate through the hotel. I would recommend this as the perfect base for a family weekend.
"Nice in the center"
We came in Early around 11:00 and we were able to check into our room right away which was nice. Room was good and very american but we are used to That. Nice bed and bath and all was good for a night sleep in town. We loved the Pool and spa in the hotel as something extra. Breakfast was good but Way to busy and not enough staff. It was sunday so this is most Likely the reason with long lines. And the elevators took forever to come. Hotel is in the city center at 2 min walk. During check out our bags were assisted and stored. All in all a good stay and would Come back during weeknights and nice staff front reception housekpeeing and restaurant.
"Great hotel in brilliant location"
We had a three night stay in a Deluxe Double (two double beds) with a 4 year old and a 7 month old baby. The staff are fantastic and couldn't do enough for us - I'd like to mention Krystyna at the bar who looked after us very well at dinner. The room is a little dated but the beds are comfy and there is a fridge too. The bathroom is tiny though! Rooms can be a little noisy - our first night I was kept awake by a group of young men next door in the wee hours but thankfully my children slept through. I can't complain much though as I'm sure they were kept from a lie in as my kids are early risers!!! My child was sick with croup and needed to go to hospital during the night and staff were very helpful in arranging a taxi to the hospital and getting us fresh towels. The breakfast is fantastic and staff offer you takeaway bags to help yourself to extra for the rest of your day - invaluable when you have children. I have stayed a few times in the Bristol Royal Marriott which is a more refined hotel but lacks atmosphere in the evenings. I think in future I will stay at the Marriott City Centre as there was a great bar and terrace area, the location is fab (beside the shopping area) pool is excellent, and geared towards a more hip crowd!
We stayed here for a weekend. It was a great location close to everything. When checking in we were asked to give a credit card for deposit of £100 if we made noise late at night the money would be deducted from the card. Don't think this was mentioned anywhere when we placed the booking! The room was really big and had two large double beds in it. There was shortbread in the room to have with your tea or coffee which was a nice touch. All toiletries were provided in the room. We were on the third floor which was handy as its a high rise nine floors plus. There is a resident bar which doesn't seem to stop servicing all night! The hotel has a gym and swimming pool. The pool is tiny you couldn't do a proper length as if you push off at one end you'd end up head butting the bank. The pool would keep kids entertained for sure! I would stay here again if I was away with friends, family or as a couple. Great location, the reception staff were helpful and friendly!Didn't dine in the hotel as lots of restaurants near by and coffee shops.
"Very let down "
I booked this hotel as it's a very respectable chain, however I was left disappointed by the quality within the hotel including reception staff. On arrival to my room there seemed to be a distinct lack of cleanliness to the room. There was no remote for the TV and on phoning down to reception they asked if I could cope without it ..... at £95 per night I'd expect a tv remote. The iron hadn't been cleaned or replace in so long that it ruined my shirt I was wearing to a black tie event that evening. The reception staff were unwelcoming and unhelpful Needless to say I will not be booking or staying here again
