"Excellent option in downtown Nassau"
It is hard to believe that there is a hotel with a private beach in downtown Nassau. The view is fantastic, specially from the executive lounge. Talking about the executive lounge, the service there was impeccable, thanks to Shamarize, the assistant executive floor manager, who was extremely nice. Our room was not ready when we got there, even though it was already mid afternoon, but she helped us get one as soon as possible. Room service is nice. Breakfast is very good, with lots of options. If we ever go back to Nassau, we will definitely stay there.
"Cold baths and add-on charges"
We usually like staying at Hilton properties and enjoyed a lot about the Hilton Hotel in Nassau, such as the large room with an ocean view. However, much of the hotel was without hot water for most of a day. Also, on checking out we were hit with a bunch of add-on charges (a room-cleaning fee--really') that we hadn't expected. Those two problems marred what was otherwise a very enjoyable stay.
Great breakfast at the hilton and amazing 5 star service from lashan lovely lady. I stay in many hotels around the world and wish more staff were like her. She is wasted she should be front of house staff
"Tired Hotel Needs Remodel"
It is easy to imagine the British Colonial Hilton in Nassau as a four-star hotel in years past. Unfortunately, this hotel is showing its age and is need of a remodel. Let me start with the positive. The service is great. I have no complaints about any of my interactions with the hotel's staff. As mentioned above, the hotel is just not in good enough shape to be a four-star hotel any longer. The lobby is in very nice shape, but I noticed before I even got to my room that things weren't quite what I expected. The carpet on the fourth floor has large holes in it. There are areas in my room where the paint is peeling or there are scuff marks on the walls. The furniture has chips and is dated. Also, during my stay, the room phones stopped working throughout all or most of the hotel. This lasted for my entire stay. I didn't learn about this until I tried to call the front desk on my first night in the hotel. When the phone didn't get dial tone, I called using my cell phone and was told that the phones were out throughout the building. There was never any notice to guests that the phones were out. In addition to being an inconvenience, this is a serious security issue. I was fortunate to have an international calling plan on my cell phone that allowed me to make calls, but many guests do not have that luxury, leaving them without any means of calling for help or contacting the hotel in the case of an emergency. I stayed three nights and the phones were never fixed during my stay. This situation was handled very poorly by the hotel.
"Excellent hotel in the heart of Nassau"
This is the perfect hotel in the heart of Nassau. The pool and beach are great. We loved watching the cruise ships come in to the Nassau port. It was an easy walk to cruise ship dock and we enjoyed walking down to watch tourist come in, and we were able to easily pick up some tours ourselves. Also Dunkin Donuts and McDonalds near-by as well as plenty shops and restaurants. Very clean. Very safe.
