"Beach, Downtown, Restaurants, Local Culture and More at this Hotel"
If you are a visitor(s) and only have a few days to spare, this hotel will provide you nearly all. It has its own private beach which is clean and well managed, located at the center of the downtown of Nassau for shopping, historic buildings, within walking distance. Yes,for food, if you walk about 10 minutes along the West Bay Street, you will arrive at the Awarak Bay, a food strip where you will find most well known local restaurants, like Oh Andros and Twin Brothers, etc. If you like arts and local culture, just walk up along Queen Street and then turn to West Hill Street, you will see a colorful street sandwiched by different art studios or museums. The only problem is that due to the expansion, the west side of the hotel tends to be a bit noisy.
"Great location for college fair event"
This was the venue for a college fair hosted by EducationUSA. It was a great location. Our room was comfortable, the bathroom was spacious, and the breakfast buffet is phenomenal! The room had a fridge, ironing board, large desk, and was clean. The towels are large, which was wonderful! Having the event on site on Saturday was very convenient. The parking is limited, if you decide to rent a car in the Bahamas, but we were able to find spots twice. One day of valet parking was free.
"Nice but pricy for what you get"
Recently I stayed here for 3 days while on a work trip. I am a Hilton Diamond member and I was upgraded. I was impressed with the lounge here. They had a good breakfast and decent evening appetizers as well as an open bar for 2 or so hours every night. And a great view from the lounge. I did go for dinner one night to the restaurant; it was expensive, but they accommodated my food allergy request. Nearby across the street, there is a McDs, Dunkins, and this hotel is near the straw market. Plenty of other restaurants close. Not sure if it's safe after dark. For the most part the service was excellent, most of the staff were very friendly. Downtown location was good for my meetings and there were some quiet work areas in the hotel that I appreciated. There is a beach here and it is nice. The first night I was there there were no cruise ships and it was lovely. I've seen better, but for a downtown hotel, it was better than I expected. Others complained about cleanliness, but I had no probs there. But by the second morning there were four huge ships docked. This made a big difference to the View and I didn't feel like swimming with the cruises so close by; even though the water looked crystal clear I guess I had some kind of mental block! I guess my only other beef is with the rooms. While I know this is an old hotel and a big one at that, there needs to be better maintenance. I don't know that the price and with all of the fees and taxes included is worth it.
"29th Wessing Anniversary Paradise Getaway"
Stunning Hotel. All amenities available, Staff cater to your needs, and are so friendly, I loved talking with them. Very relaxing by the pool. Private beach, cleaned every single day at day break so ready for guests. Our room was a large suite with great views, one side had a construction site. All our windows had a beautiful view of the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. There are vacation ships up to 5 a day huge in size come into the small port, amazing to watch them turn 180 deg. In a small area. Food was excellent though expensive. Situated in the Downtown Nassau, so lots of restaurants, and shopping in walking distance. A place to come back to...
