The hotel is in a great location, I was in the front of the hotel with a wonderful view of the city. I was on my own and I like business hotels where you don't mind going to breakfast or lunch as others are eating alone.Comment of M. Gerard , Ireland the 2015-01-28

"Central Location with Outstanding Views"
Very well located on the banks of the Danube. The views from the room are jaw dropping. I opened the drapes to find that my room faced Buda Castle. Day and night it absolutely glowed across the river. The Castle and St. Mathias Church were within walking distance -- perhaps twenty minutes to the foot of the funiculare. The other main attractions were within a 30 minute walk. The rooms are comfortable, a good size and spotless. The king bed was very comfortable. One small nit is that the room was dimly lit for applying makeup. There was plenty of storage and a small safe. The bathroom was larger than normal and had a shower only. Perhaps rooms with two beds have a tub/shower combo. A tram runs right in front of the hotel. It is an inexpensive and convenient way to get to the Central Market or, in the other direction, to the Parliament Building. The subway is a 5 minute walk from the hotel and will connect you to lines running throughout the city as well as the main train station. Beats trying to work with the Budapest taxis at the train station. Many other posts have been written on that topic so I won't go into detail. My room rate included breakfast. The buffet contained everything you could want including made to order eggs. Every day there were also two Hungarian breakfast specialty entree items available along with everything else. Great way to experiment. Service was very good even with the large number of holiday guests. I highly recommend the hotel!
"Oh the Views!"
Right on the Danube, this functional business hotel has rooms facing the river, with great views of the Buda side. Try to get higher up, but the elevated banks of the Danube make all views ok (alright save for the trains running between the hotel and the river). Location is central to many key sights and shopping. The executive lounge has a great 270 degree view - well worth spending time on its deck making panoramic photos. Staff friendly, attentive, multilingual. Caters to business clientele.
"Not a bad view from the rooms"
The Marriott is just about riverfront. I believe there may be a tram track and possible a roadway between the hotel and the Danube. It was centrally located to all of the sights on the Buda side of the city. We walked everywhere. The hotel was quiet. I had executive Lounge access which provided the best view of the bridges at night.
"Excellent hotel and location"
We spent 4 nights during Christmas week at Budapest Marriott. The hotel has an old unattractive concrete exterior, but its views and locations are amazing. Each room has a full view of the Danube and the "Buda" side of the city with the Castle. We chose the Marriott over the new Ritz Carlton because of the location. And we loved it so much we're eager to return. Also, we had the executive lounge access which was a great way to hangout and recover between our adventures across Budapest. It had great snacks and lots of beverages. The Four Seasons looks like the only other better hotel--but it is even set back from the river and not all rooms face the Danube. Highly recommend!
"I can't stop going back!"
I don't even know where to begin.. so several years ago my dad came to Budapest on business and stayed in the Marriott, he thoroughly enjoyed it so too me, my twin sister and our mum back. We were just amazed by the hotel, greeted at the door, amazing lobby! We felt like we were royalty and couldn't fault a single thing. Every inch of the hotel was spotless and the room was SOOOOOOOOOO incredibly comfortable, I'm trying to buy the quilt and bedding (which you can do), I've never had a better night sleep! Every room in the Marriott boasts river views of the Danube which are just stunning, we've stayed there at least 5 times and never have the worry 'are we going to be staring out at a brick wall' NOOOOO, we're going to be looking out at the Palace on the other side of the river! The hotel is right on the river front and you can take a lovely stroll along the promenade. We've only really been in December as we like to go to the Christmas markets and the weather is always perfect; crisp, cold and clear. The staff in the cafe and restaurants are lovely and there is one particular lady who recognised us straight away from a previous trip there about 3 years later.. amazing !!!! Couldn't recommend this Hotel enough!
