Perfect location, comfortable room, great staff. On a negative side, our bathroom needs a proper clean. There was leftover poop in the toilet and the shower head was pink - so dirty. Overall a good stay. Buddha bar is great too.
"Comfortable stay with excellent dining experience"
Spent 3 nights at the Buddha-Bar hotel as part of a BA (flight + hotel) package. My partner and I really enjoyed the stay there with its superb dining service and excellent location. Building and Room: The hotel beautifully merges into a classical building which provides a spacious and luxurious feeling. The overwhelming Asian red also gives a special experience compared with other well-known chain hotels. The bed in the room was really comfortable and large. The walls near the door are covered with sound insulation material which help to provide a quiet and private environment. Breakfast and Buddha-bar Restaurant: We were happy with the breakfast arrangement as a selection of hot breakfast dishes can be ordered alongside the buffet. The Buddha-bar Restaurant ranks high on TripAdvisor so we had a dinner and the Easter Sunday buffet during our stay. The F&B manger, Csilla, offered us exceptional service during our dinner and lunch buffet. We specially appreciate her hospitality. The location of the Buddha-Bar hotel is also ideal. It is near the main shopping avenue with lots of shops, restaurants and the large market area. It also sits near the Danube river, with only 10-15 minutes walk to the Central Market.
"Elegant, upscale hotel in the center of everything"
This hotel is located in a beautiful old palace but has stunning, sleek contemporary decor inside. The rooms are terrifically comfortable and have every amenity imaginable- from surround sound, elegant decor, and a toilet that has amazing features. The hotel is in the center of the historic area and many sites are easily walkable. Public transportation, including train and tram, are located steps away. The price was on the higher end for Budapest hotels I researched, but quite moderate by typical urban American standards. The staff were helpful but quite aloof and at times it didn't feel very welcoming. I wrote that off to cultural differences.
Beautiful hotel, excellent location, building itself is aristocratic, good lounge, reception staff very polite and fast service, check-in&check-out very easy, bell boy service excellent, breakfast was delicious, room was very spacious and clean. Hotel was near to many restaurants, shops, currency exchanges, easy for tour pick ups, beautiful church in front of the hotel. Saturday night budda bar beats in the lounge was excellent.
"Style over substance "
So I would offer 3 stars o the basis that the bed is super comfortable and the bathroom is very luxurious with the best toiletries I have ever had in a hotel (White Company London products). However, as a cosmopolitan 5 star hotel I would expect a little more in terms of in room entertainment. The WiFi is frankly embarrassing! This left me to try and choose something to watch on the television. Only I couldn't because the only channels in English were news channels, none of the other cgannels worked. OK, so I'll rent a movie. Not at nearly €15 I won't! I actually thought this was a joke. Bear in mind you can get a pretty decent 2-3 course meal in Budapest for this price. Further to this, breakfast was €25 which quite frankly is robbery when there is an abundance of good cafés which will feed you for a quarter of this price. Having stayed at another hotel in Budapest the week before (The Prestige) I didn't leave Buddha-Bar impressed. Too much time thinking about design, not enough thinking about facilities. Sorry
