"Good location but could do better."
Having stayed at the Prague Buddha Bar in March 2015 we expected great things. Sadly though it was not up to the same level in terms of the quality of the room (cleaning was sub par with the dust on one surface a good 6 months worth). The restaurants were okay but again not mind blowing. All this said the staff were all helpful and friendly. Sauna and steam room were lovely. Be warned if you meet Scandinavians in there it can lead to a slightly sore head the next morning.
"Great if you like your life in darkness"
Probably one of the best locations in Budapest, just in front of Elisabeth bridge on Vaci. However, no river view. We also stayed in Marriot on this visit and got a room with perfect river view and towards the castle for more or less the same price. My overall impression from Buddha was moving around in darkness and trying to read the info plates. Rooms are (our party had 2) darkly painted with limited light. Did not like it. Another feature is the bathroom with a magic toilet. You have a control panel for the toilet that is not of this world. You can control everything apart from your stomach. There is blue light down in the toilet, there is a small fan inside the toilet etc etc. There is buttons for everything, heat in the ring, ring up and down, lock up and down etc etc. Quite fun.
My first experience in a Buddha-Bar Hotel. Everything was excellent from check-in throughout the entire stay. We were upgraded to a corner suite with all conforts and a beautiful view. Breakfast was great too with an excellent variety of food. The staff is all very kind and available. Travelling with children I was very happy to find such a children-friendly place. Highly recommended!
"GOOD HOTEL IN A GOOD LOCATION"
If you're reading this, you'll have already done a search on the hotel and seen the images. Yes, it does look that good and has a style all of its own, being very different to the 'vanilla' offerings of the large luxury hotel chains. That being said, the rooms themselves aren't particularly amazing and in fact, I found mine to be rather dark and dingy. The lighting is very low-level and the number of light switches make a simple task of turning a specific light on/off into a complex button pushing exercise. Service/staff attitude is good; always polite, efficient and courteous. The restaurant is outstanding and I had one of the best meals there that I've had in years.
"55 minute massage"
Myself and my partner didn't choose to stay at this hotel for our trip but decided on booking dinner and having a massage at this hotel. We was greeted straight away and handed complimentary slippers and dressing gowns to get changed into before our massage. We was given a couples room for the massage and the ladies was great at their job. It was both of our first massages and we will be getting more if the standard is to that level. We chose to use the facilities after and I was slightly disappointed with the size as I thought by the pictures it seemed bigger, but it offered a little pool, sauna, steam room and another room that was really hot with a plunge pool also. Prices are high but we wanted a place that would guarantee high standards.
