"My guide and review"
Beautiful place and hotel. Superb sea view from multiple rooms, terrace and swimming pool. Food is great: Breakfast has many options from traditional English style to fruit and tapas snacks. Omelette is my favourite, cook made it by order. Dinner is known from fish and sea food, also possible to see how its made. Hotel is great for example golfing or just to enjoy nature and sun. Perfect for adult how doesnt prefer heavy partying. Bus goes to nearby golfcourse any time you want. Local village Buenavista del norte offer shops to buy water or every day goods. Bus station is at village center and i definitely prefer bus number 363 to Puerto De La Cruz. Takes about an hour by most beautiful road by the shore. Bus goes about every hour so its easy to get back to your hotel. Feel free to ask if any questions.
"Beautiful hotel with absolutely friendly staff"
We loved our stay at the Melia Hacienda del Conde. On arrival, we received an unexpected upgrade, so we had a room on one of the top floors overlooking the golfcourse as well as the see and the beautifully designed outside pool area. The breakfast was amazing with a huge choice. The golfcourse was great as well. We felt very much pampered by the hotel staff. On the negative side the evening buffet for a price of 29 EUR per person was not that great and the cutlery was sometimes not very clean. The use of the Spa costs 24 EUR, which in our opinion should be included in the hotel price.
"A nice place for a quiet break with winter sun"
My wife & I enjoyed a short stay on a B&B basis at this rather smart hacienda style hotel in early November. The room was large and very comfortable and the hotel facilities were good on the whole, although not quite 5* standard, but then neither is the price... There were a few glitches during our stay but the staff did well to resolve our problems quickly and without fuss. When we arrived we were put in a standard sea-view room out on one of the wings and this would have been fine were it not for the rude awakening from the reversing JCB on the adjacent building site the first morning...anyway, we complained after breakfast and were moved later the same day into a room on the other side of the site, which as it happened was also one of 'The Level' rooms so had a few extra perks such as a Nespresso-like coffee machine in the room and a lovely L-shaped sofa. We dined with the half-boarders in the buffet restaurant on one night, that was OK, nothing spectacular and also had 3 meals in the a la carte restaurant. The first meal there was good but the second experience was so bad that I complained to the manager who then invited us to return for a third time for a meal with wine all of which was "on the house", this was our best experience by far, the food on that occasion was very good. We're not golfers but there were a lot of golfers in the hotel some of whom informed us that the adjoining course was very good and the views over the Atlantic coastline with the rocky mountains behind are really spectacular! The hotel gym was small, probably too small for >100 rooms and the spa was nice, we had deep tissue massages which were pretty decent. The nearby town is small but quaint and friendly and we ventured out for drinks and tapas on a couple of afternoons. You would need a car or taxis to access any other towns or attractions as this hotel is (thankfully) removed from the mass tourism of the southern part of the island. All in all a nice place to spend a few days relaxing and recharging and/or golfing if that is your thing.
This is without doubt one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed in, and I consider myself well travelled. It probably is as near faultless as anyone could wish. The service is excellent, without being 'over the top'. I would recommend upgrading to the 'Level', as this gives those little extras, that make the whole experience that little better. A faultless hotel.
