"hotel with golf"
very welcoming on arrival, brilliant staff, extremely well run hotel. Food at breakfast. and dinner, varied , interesting, and top quality. They run a shuttle to and from the golf club on demand, waiting time generally no more than a minute. Golf clubs stored in a locked annex at the hotel. In short could not have asked for better
"Quiet and relaxing"
Quiet and relaxing which is what we wanted, bit isolated and if a non golfer suggest a car hire. Very disappointed with the organisation on the golf course, this does not belong to the hotel, but booking can be made through the hotel at a discount. Staff and management very helpful and friendly. Buffet style service in restaurant, plenty of choice. Good quality.
"Perfect Hotel & Location for R&R"
We have just returned from a most enjoyable stay of 7 days at the Melia Hacienda del Conde, Tenerife. This was a last minute booking with the emphasis on relaxation rather than the sun, it was the perfect choice. The hotel is approx. 1hr 15minutes drive from the Tenerife South Airport ( approx taxi cost 100-125 Euro), mostly through the mountains, giving quite dramatic views, especially the last 20 minutes which entails driving down a very steep winding road from 1,200m to sea level ! On arrival, the exterior of the hotel is not that impressive but from the moment you walk through the entrance you are transferred to an oasis of luxury. We stayed in a sea view suite, based upon HB but on the "Level", we highly recommend this booking option if your budget allows, the extra cost goes a long way in the enjoyment of the experience of your stay. This is an adult only hotel so very relaxing and the surrounds are idyllic with the mountains on one side and the golf course and Atlantic the other. The grounds are well laid out (note: with plenty of steps) and two beautiful swimming pools (heated in the winter, the top pool being the warmest, a pleasant 22-25 deg C. The "Level" option provides you snacks and drinks (Cava, beer, wine and soft drinks) around the dedicated sunbathing area 1100-1700hrs, refreshments in the Lounge throughout the day with a "Happy Hour" in the Lounge 1700-1900hrs, serving spirits and pre-dinner canapes. In addition, you have access to the "a la carte" restaurant for breakfast, a delightful and worthwhile experience in itself, plus a 90 minute use of the Spa. My wife is coeliac so needs Gluten free food, I spoke with the hotel prior to our visit and was assured this would be no problem and it wasn't. All the staff were made aware of this requirement and they ensured suitable snacks and food in the restaurants was available throughout our stay. For this and other services we give a special thank you to Miguel (Customer Experience Manager) who we originally spoke to, Pricilla on the Level Reception who ensured Gluten free canapes were available each evening in the Lounge, Isobel in the a la Carte restaurant who remembered our needs at breakfast and was so polite. In the main restaurant Pawel (Head Chef) and Sergio who between them advised suitable choices my wife could eat and ensuring all the staff were aware, they always made time. We were concerned with some of the comments on TA we read prior to our visit regarding the buffet food, but the choice was so wide that there was something for everyone. The starter course offered a huge selection of cold meets, cheeses, fish and salads and the live cooking stations (Alessandro) we found to be the best of all for the main courses. We were very happy with all the food throughout our stay. Finally, a really great place to relax, surrounded by helpful and pleasant staff with excellent facilities.
"Lovely boutique style adults only hotel"
We picked this hotel primarily because it was adults only and liked the luxury of The Level option. The suite was large and comfortable and extras, such as the kettle we asked for, arrived immediately. The only issue was that our room (406) was immediately below the dining room. This meant that preparations for breakfast and clearing up after dinner could be heard through the ceiling due to the tiled floor. It did not disturb us but was quite noticeable and may well irritate early to bed or late to rise guests. Service was excellent everywhere and staff members were always polite and helpful. The Level guests had a separate reception and a lounge area with snacks all day, smoothies/fruit/crisps/sweets plus beer/soft drinks/tea/coffee during the day and savoury canapes in the evening. Happy hour between 5 and 7pm brought out spirits and wine as well and the lounge became very sociable (if you wanted it to be). The Level area by the pool also had wine and soft drinks available all day as well as nicer sunbeds. The buffet was not amazing (by Dubai's Madinat Jumeirah standards) but there was always something good to eat in the evening, desserts excepted - I didn't like any of them which was probably good for the diet. The à la carte restaurant menu seemed quite limited so we didn't eat there. The only downside of this hotel is its location weather wise. We had cloud every day bar one but thankfully had a car and so braved the incredibly steep climbs up to Santiago del Tiede (and into the sunshine) to explore the volcano and Costa Adeje. We then transferred hotels to the Ritz-Carlton Abama as we had been told the weather was perfect there....which it turned out to be!
"Wonderful relaxing stay"
We stayed here for eight days, our first time in a Melia hotel, and arriving in some trepidation as we'd always avoided 'resort' hotels in the past. It was a wonderful surprise! The staff are so kind and welcoming. We were booked into a Level room and as soon as they realised my wife had difficulty walking distance, moved us into a wonderful room close to the bar, restaurant and Level lounge. You can see the quality and style of the accommodation on the website. What you can't see is the calm unhurried life at the hotel. Even though it was quite full, there was never many people around and always that fantastic view. The Level lounge in the early evening brought people together, but never that many that you couldn't sit where you wanted to enjoy the canapés and free bar. The breakfast, with excellent service for hot food, and an extensive buffet for everything else, was outstanding by any measure. The service at all times was discreet and personal, you were really made to feel pampered. We will come back for sure. The one setback was the restaurant for dinner which we tried just once. It didn't cut the mustard and needs a real rethink! A big opportunity lost for the hotel at the moment. But we were on B&b terms and had planned to explore the local restaurant scene which we did and found some real gems! We can't wait to return. Thanks for such a lovely time!
