Best Western Premier Opéra Faubourg is ideally located at the crossroads of important Parisian districts such as the district of the famous shopping malls in Paris close to the Opéra Garnier, the quarter of antique dealers next to La Salle Drouot and the district of Martyrs.
The rooms are a little small but location is excellent and staff cannot do enough for you. Staff far better than much more expensive hotels. I stayed on business in the Pullman near Tour Eiffell a few days before at two or three times the price and BW staff way ahead of Pullman. We had wonderful stay and will return. Highly recommended!
The selling point for this hotel is its location - it is within walking distance of the Gare du Nord train station, the Sacre Coeur church, and the Place de la Concorde. There are good restaurants, cafes, and bakeries in the area including a covered street of shops. The hotel itself attempts to be quirky, with lights hanging from bowler hats and photos of the cast of British TV series The Avengers on the walls. The room was an ok size, with a large, soft bed, and plenty of closet space, as well as a safe for your valuables. The shower room appeared clean, though the cleaners had evidently been in a rush as some things were out of place and the tea/coffee tray not fully restocked. Staff on the front desk spoke perfect English (as did the majority of Parisiens we encountered) though there was a bit of confusion when we requested to merge our two bookings (first night was booked in my name while the second was in my partners) - resulting in a slightly panicked phone call when we were halfway around the Pompidou Centre when they thought we should have checked out. While there are areas for improvement, the hotel is extremely convenient, and the rooms sufficient for a short stay. Worth noting it's also one of the cheaper quality hotels in Paris, and we saw people of all nationalities staying there, so accessible to all, not just British or French tourists.
"Better than expected "
We arrived super early (around 7am) and were hoping to just secure our luggage till check in. The gentlemen informed us they had a room, though it was a larger room than we booked. He offered to upgrade us at no charge. The room was clean and spacious. It included a separate seating area and a refrigerator. There was little outside noise heard from the room. The staff was very friendly and the location was easily accessible to the metro. We will definitely look to book here again in the future.
"Good value for money"
Hotel is located ten to fifteen minutes walk from the Opera nice small lobby with a pleasant atmosphere very small bed in the room shower is located in the tub and there is no door or full cover, so after a shower the whole bathroom is totally wet nice breakfast For the money the hotel charges, it is a good deal
"Frustrating Experience that turned out in the end"
When I booked this hotel through Bookings.com I chose it because it was listed as having an airport shuttle service. I contacted the hotel twice before arriving to confirm how to access this shuttle service and never got a response. When I arrived at the airport I called the hotel and was told to get on the shuttle bus, which only did a loop around the airport hotels. I got off the airport shuttle bus and went into the airport to the info centre. They allowed me to call the hotel and then I spoke with someone else who was not helpful either. The airport info staff advised me to take the Opera Bus, which I did. My wifi was't working so I had to ask people every couple of blocks which way to Rue La Fayette. People were very kind and helpful, but it was the ONLY frustrating experience of my 4 weeks of traveling in Europe. Once I arrived, I tried to discuss the fact that they did not have airport shuttle service with the desk staff and they were not helpful. I went out to get something to eat and when I returned I spoke with the manager. She was very apologetic and agreed that yes, the site does say they have this airport shuttle service but that they can do nothing to have it removed. She said that they were short staffed and had problem with the staff not speaking very good english and that they did not understand my request. She told me not to worry that she would have a car there for me in the morning to get to the airport. My room was very comfortable, the bathroom was clean and ample toiletries were on hand. I liked that my room faced the street and I could swing the windows open wide. The breakfast which was included, was very good and the service was impeccable. When I went to the front desk, ready to leave, the driver was there waiting for me. It was a pleasant drive to the airport and I was appreciative of the care and concern the manager extended towards me.
