The Palazzo Gottardi is situated on Strada Nuova, in the heart of Venice's old city centre, near innumerable places of interest: the ancient Jewish ghetto (which is near an area full of inns and trattorias offering typical Venetian cooking), the famous Rialto market, the Santa Sofia wharf, and, of course, the Piazza San Marco and the church of Santa Maria della Salute, from where one can see a wonderful view of San Marco Bay.

"True Venetian Room"
I walked to his hotel from the train station with my luggage in tow. It only took me 3 small bridges and 10 minutes later I arrived to the hotel. I was upgraded to a bigger room in another building just next door. There was no lift, however, the man at the front reception carried my bag upstairs to my room. You get a set of keys for the room and the house/palace itself. The room looked amazing. It was decorated to make it look like a true Venetian room in a palace, from the bed to the sheets, to the curtains, to the wallpaper, high ceilings, carpet, plenty of space, a big couch and a large TV. Most of all, it was clean and tidy. I walked to the main tourist attractions, along the way there's so much to see and you'll be awe of the photo opportunities. It's very close to what you need to see, The Grand Canal, St Mark's Square and Rialto Bridge are only about 10 minutes walk, gondola stations and restaurants at every corner. I walked back towards the train station to the fruit markets close to it - they had fresh fruits and nice restaurants nearby. The staff at this hotel were very welcoming and helpful. Spoke good English, too. The breakfast was okay, just your typical Italian breakfast of hot drink and some bread. There are some cereals as well. All in all it was a nice stay for me. It was comfortable and safe.
"Wonderful boutique hotel in Venice"
Venice was our first stop in a four city tour of Italy and it was our favorite city. Ca'Gottardi made it even more special. The location in Cannaregio was perfect, close by the public water taxi and easy enough to walk to San Marco. We had a room that faced the side canal and it was beautifully decorated. The breakfast room had the most gorgeous hand painted ceiling beams and a nice balcony overlooking the canal. Breakfast was a delicious Italian spread of pastries, fruit, yogurts, meats, cheeses and hard or soft boiled eggs. Cappuccino was excellent. Most importantly was the friendliness of the staff. Fabio (if I'm correct at remembering names) was very helpful and kind. We only spent two nights in Venice but I wished we stayed longer. We were very pleased with Ca' Gottardi and would highly recommend this lovely boutique hotel! Thank you for making Venice a wonderful experience for us!
"Great little gem"
This hotel has the kindest most obliging staff! I wasn't totally happy with my room ( partly because it faced a wall) partly because the superior rooms with views were all taken! and they couldn't have nicer, taking me to see what other rooms were available once they became available. The room although small was comfortably tastefully decorated . Breakfasts were generous and on mornings when I got up pre breakfast and about to go off to find a cafe for coffee, the staff happily offered to make me coffee."since we are here anyway" There was always coffee tea cake available through the day and one morning I was offered a tray of cakes because it was one of the staffs birthday and he'd brought cakes in for the other staff and offered them to guests as well! Hotel's in a great location: quiet, away from crowds, yet close enough to everything. I was travelling alone and they were so kind and welcoming I never felt lonely. They printed my boarding passes, printed maps, helped me with luggage down a flight of stairs... Would I stay here again' Absolutely! But I'd try to get a Superior Room with a View. And did I mention, the staff was wonderful!
This is a very nice boutique hotel.we stayed for 3 nights, on arrival the room was not ready as we were very early but we're offered a upgrade to one of the suites a nice touch. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful with local knowledge. The hotel is on a Main Street with plenty to do and is only a relatively short walk to the main attractions around.
"Lovely boutique hotel"
I stayed here with a photography tour group over Carnivale and was apprehensive based on some of the reviews. However, I was delighted with this hotel; staff were gracious, accommodating and always ready to help me access the other building if my colleague had the key. Breakfast was terrific and cappucino was made to order no matter how early our group got up. Our room was spacious as was the bathroom. The 45 steps were sometimes onerous but only because we were so tired from already exploring the city. At the end of our visit, management left a mask on our bed and a drawing which was a lovely way to say thank you. I do not recommend the restaurant next to the hotel as the staff were not as pleasant and the food not as good as elsewhere. There is another restaurant across the street which is handy when exhaustion prevents a weary traveler from seeking food. Also helpful is the fact there is a grocery store within 50 yards of the hotel. All in all, great location, lovely hotel.
