"Outdated hotel with many shortcomings"
We stayed 4 nights in this hotel and were really looking forward to it. What a disappointment, the hotel is really outdated. There were further a couple of issues that made us decide to provide only a 1 star rating. Room is outdated but bathroom is really bad with a horrible smell as a result of a broken ventilation system. It further had a burst in the sink and he build-in hairdryer was broken, instead of repairing it another hairdryer was put next to it. We had continuously problems with the Wifi. One day we arrived at 17h in our room and the room was not yet cleaned. Toilets in the central entrance hall were disgusting and the disabled toilet could not be locked. Some of the beach staff was unfriendly. Reception staff and concierge tried to help when we had issues, there were however too many issues for a hotel of this standing.
"Great location (mostly) good service"
This is a very well located hotel on Ipanema beach. The views are great from the room at the front of the hotel. The hotel is certainly not new and there are some maintenance issues but nothing too drastic. The rooms are light and a reasonable size and generally the service is very good and attentive. English is widely understood at the hotel and most of the staff are great. This is my second stay and the only let down on eah occasion has been the very poor if not non-existent service on Level 23 where the pool and bar are located. Overall a good choice for Rio.
"Great location, good restaurant - all just works"
spent 2 nights here at the end of our brazil holiday - we had a room with a side beach view which was worth paying for - lovely to wake up and see Ipanema out of the window. Great bed, and revamped room, very happy with this choice. The upstairs bar was a bit of a let down - very run down, and should be a fab location given the view..
"On the beach"
You just cross the street and you are right on Ipanema Beach. The hotel's staff all were very helpful and gave us great service. Breakfast overlooking the Beach was cool and the roof top bar (looks a lot bigger on the Pictures posted on the hotels website) has a panoramic veiw of the Ocean and never ending beaches.
"Location good, rooms bad"
I have stayed several times at Caesar Park, and I return because of the service. However, what you pay, and what you get doesn't correspond. I paid 260 USD per night for a standard room - so tiny that I had a bench removed so my suitcase fitted. A colleague of mine booked the same and got the exact same standard but on a different floor. The shower is a nightmare - you have to wait 5-10 minutes before it gets warm, and the shower is super small. So generally, I will advise you to spend more money and get a better room, otherwise you get annoyed and it ruins your stay. If you are SPG gold or plantinum - book JW, because they recognise loyalty and have a great rooftop. The only think I can say, is that the service is good, and the location. At the fron desk, Rayssa (I think that was her name), was very nice and did her best to help - without actually helping besides saying that I should spend more money so I could get a better room.
