"Went Back and Found . . . . ."
I went back and found that the management is almost non existent, when I first came to my room it smelled so bad I had to immediately exit the room, they had cleaned the drains and all the "sh . ." they sucked out had been left in a plastic bag in the room, they had to change the room since everything got impregnated with the smell. Furniture is old, very, except for breakfast food is mediocre and very expensive for what it is, the manager is nowhere to be seen except for placidly having breakfast and reading the newspaper. But if there is something to be said, the waiters at the La Huerta cafeteria are the best, their service and desire to please the visitors is second to none, RICARDO, LUIS MIGUEL and JOSE MANUEL are EXCELLENT!!!!! They make up for a lot of the shortcomings.
"Very nice! "
While not beeing the savest city, Acapulco has shown us the most beautiful side. Beeing on tour over daytime, we never felt insecure. The hotel was beside the mainspot, but not far away from the center by car. It was very clean, silent, quite empty (we enjoyed it having the pool and the beach for us alone) and great meal.
"Needs renovation, food not that good, privat beach is ok"
The private beach is very convenient but it's only ~70 m long. It's quite small which can be tricky if you like "long walks on the beach". The food is very average and the prices are not worth it. Got sick on the 2nd day here and had to buy (again pricey) medicine at the hotel. Service is friendly, I think the facilities and hotel age are my primary issues. Ended up going out for lunch/dinner every day.
"Camino Real, exclusive beach, nice family hotel"
Camino Real was our life-boat hotel this Constitution Day holiday in Mexico. Having much trouble to book at our regular Acapulco Hotel we found a good deal in BFast Buffett included in a 2 adult 2 kid setting... As you can imagine expectations were dim, but Camino Real was a pleasant surprise with excellent service and staff, great food and pools for the kids and a small strip of exclusive beach at the Puerto Marqués-Pichilingue Bay (This is SE of Acapulco Bay) Access to Pichilingue Area is exclusive, driving 5min through a Hills-like up-town, group of residences and condos. Very steep street with ups and downs till you get to the hotel access ramp. This hotel is quite an accomplishment on space efficiency and building onto a hill-side. The Californian style is a good match with Acapulco's tropical weather. The bay views are very nice... paradise like, lots of vegetation, yatch boats and water sports performers. Access to rooms is OK, reception is at level 5 of 10 or so, so you can be downstairs from it or upstairs. No big deal with the elevators at each side of the main building. Rooms are big enough for 2 queen beds, a small living-room, bath and bath-tube, balcony porch, minibar, desk and large 42in flat screen tv. Beds and furniture are in general good condition, you can perceive the normal used state of things. Nothing to distract you. A bit noisy AC, but air fans did splendid. Morning buffet was very good 4/5 stars, nice bay view again, good variety and the flavors and service are excellent. Somehow even when hotel was 90% occupation "La Huerta" café was able to well service our (4) party with almost no-wait time and excellent service. Pools and the small beach were a sounded hit with the Kids and wife. 2 levels of stairs to get to the beach from pool 2 level. 1 level to get to "La Vela" restaurant (Fantastic atmosphere) for dinner at night (Reservation is normal, but not needed) We stayed 4 nights and wanted to stay for the next week also... we were so relaxed and taken care of! I drove from Mex City, so with the car we could visit La Isla Shopping and other areas, very recommended to get a rental if traveling by plane... specially if you like to blend-in and shop at the flea markets in La Costera avenue in Acapulco or "La Isla" mall. Pool side bar and cafeteria service was excellent, drinks and food very good, the pizza and fish ceviche, crudités were superb... I even got double drinks at happy our (Not intended of course) In short this little hidden paradise was a great experience, very relaxed and happy to have chose this property. We'll be back for sure!
"Nice but needs ronovatin=on"
I have stayed there a few times but this one the hotel really showed deterioration. The staff is efficient and kind and fast. Room are large and nice. But... The food has become terrible and expensive. Rooms with bulbs but no lamp shades, air conditioning not working, old towels, rusted here and there, old bathrooms, doors do not close well, mini bar was warm and couldn't open it, curtains broken, doors to balconies were difficult to open, bad bad internet connection and bedding smelled like feet. I would still return, but please, fix the place!
