"Lovely, lovely, lovely!"
What a gem! Perfectly situated in the centre of Cape Town. Beautifully decorated rooms in a property oozing with character. Six different outlets to choose from . Breakfast is delicious with fresh fruits and a nice choice of cooked options. The only negative we found was that there is quite a lot of road noice, but this is due to the traditional sash windows. The supplied ear plugs will help all light sleepers. The staff are very warm and welcoming and made us feel at home right away.
"Loved every minute"
The staff was totally charming, every one. Any request was immediately responded to in the most upbeat manner. I loved them all. Wonderful suggestions were given daily. The location was perfect, right in the midst of wonderful neighborhoods, shops and restaurants. Our room was spacious, cozy, and comfortable with a wonderful bathroom. Breakfast was delicious with numerous choices, fresh fruit, and lovely juices, perfect coffee and tea.
"Original and very welcoming"
Cape Heritage combines 5 star comfort and convenience with the elegance and cosiness of a boutique B&B. Ok, there may not be an iron board, trouser press, phone in the toilet and other silly things apparently needed to get 5 stars, but all these can be arranged for you, "now now", with a smile (although I'm not sure they would hand you the phone in the toilet, didn't try that.. :) The building is an original from Colonial times and one of few that have survived in this old part of Cape Town. The whole neighbourhood has been done up in the last decade and is within (safe) walking distance of the Heerengracht, Company gardens, the fort and the V&A waterfront. Breakfast is brilliant, fresh and healthy. The courtyard makes for a wonderful lunch or afternoon wine and the surrounding colonial buildings are housing small eateries and a wine outlet. Simply fantatstic for those who try to avoid the V&A waterfront tourist trappings.
"Historic hotel in centre of Cape Town"
This is s a lovely place to stay if you want to stay in the centre of Cape Town. Large room and bathroom, breakfast out in the courtyard was lovely. Being on Bree Street you have easy access to a number of bars and restaurants add are within walking distance of the waterfont. We stayed on the first thursday of the month which is when all the art galleries open into the evening giving a great vibe to the area.
"Could have been a fabulous stay....."
We were supposed to stay three nights in this very unique, stylish hotel right in the center of town. Decor is fun and trendy, building is old and unique. The problem is that the room faced the courtyard that was shared with a restaurant that had loud music going until midnight or later. We arrived on a Thursday, and was told it could be worse on Friday and Saturday. We were stuck for that night and made do with earplugs , a sound machine and the air conditioning fan going. We moved to another hotel the next day. Truly a shame. The other thing to note is tat there are many levels to the hotel with stairs and no lift. Not a place if you are physically challenged.
