"Disappointing executive lounge"
We stayed for 1 night (Thursday 22nd December). Normally we use the Hilton in Cardiff but as our friends were staying here, we did too for convenience. What a disappointment. We arrived in time for afternoon tea but nothing was left and no effort was made to replenish the cakes etc' They cleared up 30 min later so I assume we had arrived too close to the end of teatime. However the same thing happened in the evening. Evening canapés were consumed very quickly and there were obviously not enough to satisfy demand. The lounge was not particularly busy which made it all the more disappointing. In the Marriotts defence we have stayed before and their lounge facilities have been good so we know they can do it' For the time being the Hilton, where we would normally have stayed, comes out on top so it may be a while before we stay again at the Marriott. One point worthy of commendation has to be Louise who served us in the executive lounge and breakfast in the main restaurant the following morning. She is a star, very attentive and friendly. A real asset.
"Couldn't fault it!"
Our room was fantastic. The bed, pillows and duvet were so soft. Like sleeping on a cloud. The shower was excellent, no confusing handle bars and temperature dials. Location is ideal. Short walk to bars and restaurants. Car park was reasonably priced and the staff were very polite and professional. Would stay again.
"Where have the blankets gone "
It's a marriott so you know what to expect. Can you tell me why the quilts are thinner than you used to be and there are no blanket in the room like there always was it was the same at Breadsall is it company policy to freeze us
"Do not sleep at the Front of the Building"
The welcome from Sophia Sammut was fantastic, even though she had ink on her face. Warm friendly and very helpful as was Tim duty dude in charge,, everything was fine until I tried to sleep... Room lovley if a little tired , bathroom could do with an update ,, although that said everything was clean. After a great meal out I returned early for a good sleep before my 3 am departure .... 9.30 pm it started , boom boom boom from the club dead opposite he hotel called 90s revival,,,, it got louder and louder until at 1.30 I got up after having two hours sleep and left the hotel to drive down the road and sleep in my car for a couple f hours. If you stay here stay at the back of the hotel,, view may not be as good but this noise will stay with me for a long time.. Shame really nice place ruined by a dump playing loud music till, the very early hours
"Great business hotel"
Near all the restaurants, quite comfortable room. Good gym and pool. Would recommend parking at the John Lewis car park as it's £8 for an overnight space compared to Marriotts £15. Brilliant hotel would recommend
