"Staying for meeting 2 days"
It was adequate and staff tried to be friendly. Food was ok & could have been a lot worse but it was really just ok. Loved the pool area & staff there made my visit there easy. My room was on a low floor & was over warm difficult to control temperature, lots of surrounding noise and smelt badly of curry in the evenings. It was ok not special
"One night stay"
One night stay so my wife and I could enjoy a meal and night out in Cardiff and both drink. Doorman very polite and attentive, check in prompt and very courteous, bar staff very helpful and drinks very nice with tasty bar meals. Only two minor faults one breakfast staff poured you a cup of coffee on sitting down and no more for £160 a night I expected a little better at least one top up would have been nice and two bathrooms slightly dated with a step over the bath shower. All told more plus points than negative and enjoyed our stay
"Nice city centre hotel"
Clean and well appointed but with some tired looking furniture in the room. On arrival the staff made an effort to check us in quickly and were able to answer all of our questions regarding attractions in the city. We ate in the hotel the first evening and were very impressed with the sandwiches and chips. Again the bar staff, particularly the young lady on duty both nights were very professional and helpful. The breakfast was standard buffet fare, adequate and plentiful but for a quarter of the price you could eat at Wetherspoons across the road. All in all a good hotel with great staff and excellent location.
"Needs an upgrade"
This is a very well located hotel. However, it is very overpriced for what you get. It is in need of a upgrade. Room was small ans stuffy and the corridor had a strange odour. Can not believe the cost of the WIFI! What hotel in the 21st century charges for WIFI' Also the car park is very expensive. Food was average in the bar. Not great. Will not return at the price I paid.
The Cardiff Marriott is well situated in the centre of the city very close to the main St David's shopping centre and many bars and restaurants. We had two inter-connecting rooms, one a double and one a twin, which were spacious, comfortable and had plenty of storage. We stayed about a week before Xmas and got a very reasonable rate. Breakfast was good quality with plenty of choice. You can also get a decent lunch or dinner in the bar area. There is an adjacent car park which is usually quite expensive but the exit barrier was open while we were there so parking seemed to be free. There is a good sized indoor swimming pool which was a good temperature. All in all a good city hotel.
