"Great Stopover close to the Airport"
Stayed here overnight before our flight. NB - Check the website carefully as I initially booked a single nights free parking in error, rang the hotel to check the parking situation, and was advised that additional parking would be 10 euro per night. I ended up cancelling the original booking and re-booking on a "Stay, Park and Fly" deal which included 8 days car parking. Parking is round the side & back of the hotel. Check in was quick & the Italian receptionist ( sorry we didn't get her name ) was very friendly and efficient. Our room was a good size, comfortable and well equipped. We found it a little cold but then discovered the control for the air con & switched it off, resolving the issue. We ate in the bistro which again we found slightly cool for our liking. The waitress was helpful and friendly, enquiring about our forthcoming holiday. We had an enjoyable meal although I would have liked the food a little hotter. We had a good, comfortable night's sleep albeit a short one due to our early shuttle to the airport which departed on time and delivered us to the airport in about 5 minutes. One issue was that we waited at zone 14 on our return for the shuttle bus as per our booking confirmation only to discover that it should have been zone 16 (apparently it had been changed a couple of months earlier. Once located, we had a quick trip to the hotel, validated our parking ticket at reception and were soon on our way home. The hotel is in a great location and I would definitely recommend it as a relaxing way to commence your holiday.
"Better than usual airport hotel"
Within 8 minutes of airport this contemporary hotel has the usual services. There are 100 rooms which are large and comfortable. Wasn't bothered by air plane noise. Buffet breakfast was nice. Shuttle service to airport was well organized.
"Nice Hotel with a great location to Dublin Airport"
I have used the Carlton Hotel on occasions when I am flying from Dublin airport. Mainly because of the early mornning traffic problems driving from Cork. However, the location is great, the beds are fine and the services at the hotel are as expected. The stafff are nice, friendly and professional. The Hotel is overall a nice place to overnight. The gym room is small and the work out machines are a little older in comparison to other hotels. But, if you need a sweat, the fitness machines will work out fine.
My husband and I stayed at the Carlton Hotel the night before our flight home. We arrived at 5pm and were checked in quickly and efficiently. Our room was spacious and clean and the bathroom was as well. There could have been better lighting, but it was not an issue. We were not bothered by outside noise from airplanes. We ate dinner at Kitty Hawks restaurant on-site and had a beer at the bar. It was nice not to have to travel to get food and what we had was good. We had booked an airport shuttle for the following morning at 7:30am. It arrived on time and the driver was lovely. We arrived at the departures terminal in 5 minutes. The hotel provides this shuttle service every 1/2 hour and it worked perfectly. It was nice to wake up and be so close to the airport after having a comfortable night's sleep. I would definitely stay here again without hesitation..
"Irish visit "
Close to airport and staff nice. Always clean. Been there many times before flying out of Dublin airport, as we go about 2 times a year. Nice restaurant on premises. Wifi spotty. Also no air conditioning. Rooms seem hot all year round so you have to open window or doors which make the room NOISY!!! I never get a great nights sleep because of that. No way to adjust heat in winter. Cost of rooms vary greatly. If there is a match in Dublin they quadruple the cost of rooms. We paid almost $400 once!!!!! For one night. Still, hubby likes it so that's where we go.
