"Lovely hotel and staff"
The staff took very good care of us and the room was gorgeous and very spacious. The restaurant was fully booked - but we enjoyed a great dinner nearby. Great location very close to the Champs Elysees
"Getting the Paris feel."
I was very hesitant in booking this hotel as I read some great reviews and some not so great reviews. Finally I didn't to stick with my choice as the rooms were fairly bigger in size than you average European hotels. I left a request that ai will be checking in early as my plane arrived at 8:45am, and I even called a couple a nights before my arrival to ensure that a room would be available when I get there. Which they ensured me it will. But upon arrival at 10am my room was not ready and they said they were fully packed (which is weird and I checked many sights hotel.com, booking.com which showed they had plenty of room. So I stayed in the lobby for 3.5 long hours until finally my room was ready. I had a junior suite, which was nice and spacious and yes it had a perfume which I presume they do after a guest checks out and they clean it for the next guest. At first the scent gave me a headache as in was very strong but it quickly faded away. The room itself is big, high ceiling, very large bathroom with jetted tub. Separate rainfall shower and it was the best showers I ever had water pressure was truly amazing. Also their was jazz music playing which gave the room a nice ambiance and I truly felt that I am in the most beautiful city. They had a box of LaDurée macaroons. Their amenities were Hermes. The hotel was built in the 1900's and I find they kept the charm, I personally loved the fact you had an actual key to the room. And when you left you had to give ur key to the reception. This way they know you were put and send the made to clean you room. They even had a turndown service. The staff was truly kind, special the bellboys. There are some nice restaurants near the hotel if you like steak try Les Oreilles et Queue and if you like some pizza and hamburgers try Les Tontons du huitième all a 5 min walk from the hotel. When checking out I got charged 8euros for a botte of water I used, I was upset first because the next day I went and bought a bottle for 1 euro and put it back in the fridge but I guess the maid didn't take that into account also I would have thought after waiting for more than 3 hours initially they would give me a credit or just not charge me the water. I mean this is an expensive hotel so if you want your customers to come back you need to keep the happy at least something as small as a bottle of water. The hotel itself deserves a 5 star I just think at the end the customer service could have rectified the issue that initially happened at checking time.
"A quaint hotel in a great location"
The staff was professional, very courteous and spoke excellent english in this wonderfully located hotel. The room was very clean with a nice perfume and a very practical bathdoom. The reception is very helpful and efficient. We recommend this hotel to everyone visiting Paris.
"Trip to Paris"
Mediocre. Not sure what makes a 5 star hotel but this is not it. Descent location maybe. 1. The rooms reek of perfume as if they are masking for cigarette smell. 2. We were on the first floor and outside our window all night consistently was noise making it almost impossible to sleep even with the windows closed. 3. The front desk was rude/annoying. Called us mid day to ask if we wanted room service when we clearly had "do not disturb" sign on the door. Were on vacation, having a lay in, isn't this the whole point' 4. Restaurant doesn't open until late & the bar closes early. In fact, I am in the bar typing this review now and no one is here serving. 5. We got a free voucher for 2 glasses of champagne (along with every other room checking in). We left ours in the room when we checked out. Then went down stairs to reception to ask if we can use it before we catch the train. The asian woman at the desk straight up told us no because we don't physically have the voucher in hand. Average hotel at best with plenty of room for improvement.
"Quaint Botique Hotel Near "the Champs""
PROS The best part about staying here has to be the staff. They are all very nice, speak great English, and go above and beyond for their guests. This hotel is very clean, charming, and the Junior Suite was very spacious and luxurious (with a big whirlpool tub in room 41). They also have a wonderful steam room (aka hammam) and a sauna in the basement, along with a fitness center. They have an old fashioned elevator lift, which is a bit small, but is very charming. In fact, the entire hotel feels like something from the early 1900's. They offered us a bottle of champagne and had macaroons in our room upon arrival. They offer turn down service and keep the rooms impeccably tidy. Lots of very nice touches! CONS One reason I didn't give this hotel 5 stars is because the breakfast buffet was lacking. There were the usual croissants, cereal, yogurt, and fruits. I got the buffet included in my nightly rate, but they charged me for an egg one morning and an omelet another morning-- even though I did not go down for the breakfast buffet. The other odd thing, was the fact that they use old keys for the hotel room doors. After we got used to it, it was no hassle. But it is just weird not having the plastic key cards.
