"Great food and service"
We spent 3 nights at the hotel for a wedding and ate in every evening. The food was superb and the staff so helpful and efficient. The rooms had an old world charm that was in keeping with a chateau. The hotel is set in pleasant grounds, though one is aware of the hum of traffic from a nearby motorway and the occasional train. Nothing that a couple of wax earplugs couldn't handle! The hotel is about 7km from central Prague but one can access the centre by taking a bus and then Metro. Also taxis are very cheap. One thing that was lacking was a lounge area. Our return flight was at 21.45 so we had to vacate the room by 11am and wait for our pre-booked taxi to arrive at 18hrs.The reception staff looked after our cases but we had to move from terrace to dining room to sit as the weather was very changeable. It wasn't ideal. That is our only negative comment and the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Apart from that it was brilliant. We would have no qualms whatsoever about using this hotel again.
"Something changed, something not.."
Breakfast and a tasting menu was phenomenal againl! They really knows what they are doing: great, tasty food from fresh ingredients, accompanied by friendly and professional service. Every single thing they brought was a small heaven for mouth. After three years, I must say that the restaurant stand out far above the hotel services. We slept so badly and missed in the room too many things, so..next time we stay in another hotel, I'm sorry.
We stayed here for two nights after a disastrous choice on Airbnb (not really my fault!) It is a lovely hotel in rather odd surroundings which don't really fit with the 4*. The room was nice with high ceilings and a minibar. Bathroom was a bit small but functional. Nothing too flamboyant. Excellent point - to counter being in the outskirts of town the hotel pay for a taxi in to Wenceslas Square each day which can be booked at reception. We paid for the return at 350kr taking about 15 mins. I've taken a star off because I found the service somewhat sketchey. I think the receptionist was capable but the manageress was a bit harsh meaning that the receptionist got dragged away mid-dealing with me and I gave up and came back later. Parking is free and very useful. It's not guarded during the day but is at night. Our car was full of camping gear so we parked near the hotel building and all was well. Breakfast was included in our booking and was alright. It wasn't anything to write home about and the coffee machine was useless. If it wasn't included I wouldn't pay for it.
"Cooking class !"
We went with a group for a cooking class and met 3 great chefs - 2 are local celebrity chefs on Czech TV for cooking shows ! The Chateau is very vintage and historic . They have a spa that looked great - small but the room in the pic I wanted to dive right in !
As we're on a driving holiday easy parking is important to us. This hotel is perfect for that. The down side is that it's a 20 - 30 minute taxi ride from the city centre which the hotel will arrange one way (into the city) once a day and for the return we paid 300 Czech Koruna - at todays rate about £9 or 11 EUR so nothing to break the bank. Check-in was simple. The rooms are lovely with a room safe included. The restaurant food and service is wonderful for the evening meal followed by an included self-serve buffet breakfast. We haven't had time to try the spa/wellness areas.
