"The best there is"
claridge's is a timeless classic. just stroll through the lobby once, talk to the concierge, sleep in the comfy beds, have a shower with a LOT of water coming and be stunned by all the small details and you'll know what I mean. Thank you also for the generous upgrade to the 4th floor (fabulous terrace).
"What a disappointment. Avoid room 211"
It is only my second time at this hotel. First time perfectly fine. This time my wife checked in a few days before I arrived and due to noisy aircon, had to change room. She is more accepting than I am - at over £687.50 per night, would expect better than tiny room 211. Ok, but I suppose one has to live with that in an old building - however, our room appears to have been created out of a passage and an alcove - in this tiny room, there are 6, yes SIX doors - 1) the usual entry door and 2) bathroom door PLUS 3) a door between an entry alcove (wasted and useless space which no doubt paying for) and the actual bedroom, 4) a door to room 210, 5) another door to room 210 and 6) a door I assume to room 212. Zero soundproofing - could hear neighbors on both sides - on one side a bunch of undisciplined screaming kids at midnight who shut up after banging on one of the inter-leading doors and on the other side, every phone conversation clearly heard in room 211. And this went on every night. This should not be sold as a room. At the least one expects some soundproofing. Oh, and they forgot to deduct £60 special voucher and now that I am writing this, just realized I was quoted £550 and charged £660 plus special discretionary gratuity of £27.50. On the other hand, staff do try. PS - in room changeover a sweater got lost/left behind and hotel did offer to replace it.
"Grand old hotel"
So prestigious to stay here! Phenomenal location, 2 great bars, great room service, spacious room (suite) with good closet space! Had many beautiful antique furniture pieces & rugs! The bathroom was my only complaint. Toilet issues, not much counter space for your toiletries, shower didn't drain well. The carpet was old and looked unclean. Plus, even with a do not disturb sign, help just walked right in once or twice!!! Fortunately there was an anteroom that you walked into first! That said, I would stay there again for all of the positives mentioned above.
"Timeless elegance "
I have been visiting Claridges for 16 years with my partner and we love it ! It has an unforgettable charm and elegance that never changes. The hotel is a unique fusion of traditional features with a modern twist, it's definitely not old fashioned. The service is always impeccable and discreet, it's lovely to see so many of the team still there since our first visit in 2000. There have been some occasions when we have visited other hotels in London due to Claridges being fully booked, but we've always returned as nowhere else can compete.
My husband and I were in London on 31st August to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary and we decided to go to Claridge’s for drinks. The Hotel is very impressive as was the Fumoir Bar and I felt transported back in time to the 1930’s. The service was impeccable and drinks delicious. Due to this wonderful experience we will definitely go back and hopefully stay the night at this iconic hotel
