"Nice hotel "
Really centered located hotel with nice vibe and busy bar. Modern rooms not huge but very good. Would recommend to all also families and for business trip. Close to all but no parking close to hotel it is a 5 minutes walk :)
"Good location, nice bar area, easy access to public transport"
The decor in the public areas is trendy and modern. The decor in the bedrooms, although also modern, has a 1970s feel to it but the rooms are a good size. The location is good for getting to the main sights and near to public transport (both rail and bus) for getting to the airport and to the more distantly located museums. The bar was nice but would benefit from serving more bar snack type food rather than the same pizzas that are available in the main restaurant. We ate in the restaurant which we thought was expensive but the food was innovative and very enjoyable. Late check out gets charged by the hour (up to the nominated 3pm check in time) at a reasonable rate.
"Quirky, Fun and Friendly"
The location was the number one reason for picking the Christiana, right on the city square, a stroll to the harbour and convenient for the superb Oslo underground. But what really made the stay were the staff who were brimming with ideas of things to do and places too - they clearly loved their home town. The rooms were good, with quiet a few quirky touches too. And if you are feeling hungry and don't have endless cash to sparks there's is/was a deal in the bar for a multi cheese pizza and bottle of wine!
This hotel is very thoughtfully designed, and as many the renovation of an old building. There is some unfinished work but generally beautifully presented with interesting decor. The room was large and the staff very helpful. It is very well located within easy walking distance of the Palace, the cathedral and the opera house. Highly recommend.
"Little unusual but comfortable"
My wife and I stayed here during our three week eight country European driving tour. We picked the hotel because of it's downtown location. The hotel is a little different than any of the chasing hotels which is fine and it was comfortable, clean and large rooms. I don't give it a higher mark because of the difficulty in getting checked in. To check in with a car, you have to double park on a fairly busy street while to try to hurry and get your bags in through the narrow door. Then you have to try and find the parking garage which is several blocks away and where you pay roughly $45 per night for parking. The room was quite spacious and they sink was separate from the shower and toilet but their door was undersized such that there was no privacy on the toilet. Not something we appreciated.
