"Our holiday visit to Oslo"
We found this place on trip advisor after looking for a place to stay close to city centre, the managing staff was really generous and rooms are very nice, most convenient and value for money, must stay
"Fab stay. "
Myself and my boyfriend stayed for 5 nights at the start of February. As we approached the hotel it was really beautiful. When we entered we were greeted by this two ladies. Super nice and friendly, and knowledgeable. Great start to the stay. Room was ready straight away, stayed on the 4th floor. Massive grand staircases and old stained glass windows in some parts of the hotel. Hotel room itself was really nice, not overly big but we didn't mind that. Bed was ridiculously comfy. Bathroom was nice, shower was good apart from being a walk in one it did need a towel right at the entrance to stop the floor flooding. During our stay we asked the guy on reception who seemed to be there in the evening, a few questions but didn't seem to know a great deal about the area which was a bit of a let down. Just no clue and looked at us as if our questions were crazy. We decided to just do things ourself and find things for ourselves after that. The breakfast was really good. Very healthy selections and a small variety of hot food. Bread, amazing. Granola, amazing. Really enjoyed it. Previous reviews recommended the pizza, we really didn't enjoy it at all. May be personal preference. Bar was nice, staff were friendly. Although sectioned off for private events which isn't great for hotel guests. Location is perfect, walking distance to restaurants, shops, stations, opera house and the palace. Fabulous. Our stay as a whole we thoroughly enjoyed. Thankyou. I would recommend.
"Great location and character"
The website does not do this hotel justice. It really is quite a cool boutique hotel with a wonderful wine bar. We stayed for 3 nights prior to a trip north to Tromso. The hotel is fully and recently renovated and has a wonderful intimate but contemporary feel. Each floor has a small lounge/library along with some very good art selections. Full hardwood floors give the corridors a warm feeling although they can be a bit loud. The location is fantastic within 100m of the national theater train station. This is a stop on the airport express line so transfers are very convenient, and the hotel faces onto the main central green for the city. Tjuvholm (the redeveloped waterfront) and the central station are equidistant (about 500m). My only gripe was that there was no option for room service except for physically going downstairs and getting takeout from the restaurant.
"Very good hotel"
Good location, stylish design, big rooms, great breakfast :) We were there only for one night, but everything was perfect. Good location within the centre of Oslo, spacious rooms and the breakfast was absolutely amazing.
Great rooms and neighborhood. Also, yes, the breakfast is delicious. Perhaps one of the best breakfasts I've had in a hotel before. It's not a ton of food, but plenty and very high quality. Even the coffee was French pressed into the warmer. Was a bit annoyed that they charge 100/hr to checkout late (past 11am), however when I called reception the extended to noon for free without asking.... I think that's fair after noon to charge. Great stay! Bar and pizza delicious as well.
