"Lovely stop off in a beautiful city "
We stayed here for one night on our drive south from Calais. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating throughout our stay. The room was lovely, the bed very comfy. There were one or two tired looking patches on the walls which could do with a lick of paint but other than that it was great. The shower was amazing, although the door leaked so the floor got pretty wet. The pool/spa facilities were ideal for a little relaxation and the food was excellent. The 'Afterwork' wine tasting was great and I would recommend it if you're there on a Friday. It was a nice 15 minute walk into the centre which was worth a stop off and a coffee. I would definitely stay here again and would thoroughly recommend it. The highlight of our stay was definitely the staff - they went above and beyond expectations!
Our group of 25 stayed in Chateau Belmont for 3 nights during our France land Tour. We selected the hotel based on TA reviews. We were certainly not disappointed. In fact, I would highly recommend Chateau Belmont to anyone visiting Tours or Loire Valley in general. It is an excellent base for visiting the lovely chateaus and castles in the area. We had breakfast and dinner for the 3 days we stayed there. The food quality and service were excellent. The wine which was included with dinner was very good and it was practically free flowing. Very generous indeed. The room was very big even by US standard with all the amenities one expects from a five star hotel. The hotel ground was lovely with fall colors this time of the year. The hotel was also an easy ride on the city tram from downtown. Overall, an excellent hotel.
"Terrific property and restaurant"
We spent two nights here as part of a Viking tour. The room was huge, with a living room and bedroom, two TVs (which we didn't use). The bed was also very comfortable and the room was dark and quiet, two things we really like. The restaurant is terrific with very reasonably priced Prix Fixe meals. If we were traveling by ourselves, we would definitely return here.
"Great location and excellent service"
We stayed 3 nights in this very beautiful hotel and enjoyed it very much. Excellent room, very friendly and helpful staff in reception and bar/restaurant. Very fast and good room service, lovely breakfast. Although many reviews mention the excellent quality of the food in the restaurant, we were a little bit dissapointed and found it nothing spectacular. But that could be a personal taste. Good location outside but still close to the city centre (15-20 min walk) or by tram or taxi. Highly recommended
"A pleasant 2 night stay with excellent food"
Similar to one of the other recent reviewers, we stayed at the Chateau Belmont during our Loire Valley tour, but our stay was for 2 nights. Located just across the Loire River from old town Tours, this hotel was a very pleasant surprise. Getting over to the old town across the river was very easy whether by cab or using the tram a few blocks away. We did not stay in the older main building, but had a room in the new addition a very short distance from the main building front desk and lobby. Our room was spacious (far more so than our Paris hotel!!) and very comfortable. The grounds and garden were quite nice, the hotel is located on the top of a small hill, with a gated entrance. We had dinner one night in the hotel and it was excellent!! We hadn't really expected something that good from a hotel. We didn't go to the Friday night wine tasting (I don't remember the price but it seemed very reasonable at the time) that the hotel offered to both guests and locals, but some others who traveled with us told us that it was really great. If you are in the Tours area, either on the way to Bordeaux or just touring the Loire Valley, I can highly recommend Chateau Belmont.
