"Very pleasant hotel and efficient service "
We spent a night on our way to Bordeaux. The hotel is nicely maintained and there was ample parking. Rooms are nicely decorated with all the necessary amenities. Housekeeping does a great job cleaning and replenishing the mini bar. The best part is the food in the restaurant and the breakfast spread is more than adequate for most people.
"Lovely rooms, slightly quirky hotel"
Stayed for 2 nights in September as part of a visit to the Loire valley. The hotel is nicely set in its own ground and in a quiet position near to the river. The internet photos don't really show that there are accommodation blocks in the grounds which look rather Travel Lodge like. However I had booked a room in the main building and was given an upgrade to a beautiful suite. Lovely decor and bathroom, delightful. Nice thing to do on Friday evenings is to join in the wine tasting : great wine and knowledgeable winery reps.
"Hotel & spa"
Good Breakfast buffet with lots of options of things to eat. The bathroom was large with both a shower and tub. We were in a suite which had a microwave, refrigerator & hot plate. They will charge you for anything you take out of the refrigerator and sometime even when you don’t so keep track of what is in the refrigerator when you arrive. Hotels always charge an arm & leg for any item. The grounds are really nice. There is a restaurant which is convenient and a spa which we didn’t use. The old town is about a mile down the hill but the trolley is only two blocks walk away and goes up and down about every 10 minutes during the day. You can buy tickets with coins or a credit card and it’s only around 1.90 euros. There are lots of things to see and restaurants all around and the trolley is a nice way to get back up the hill if you don’t want to walk.
"Lovely quiet chateau hotel away from downtown noise and traffic."
Stayed 2 nights in Suite 2 above lobby. Loved the convenience of the hotel front door parking and spiral staircase to our suite. Room was modern and had comfortable bed and linens. Bath was superb with standup shower and large tub with window above. Enjoyed our stay. First evening we arrived late and chose to dine in the hotel restaurant. Maître d' Julian was top notch as well as our server David. The food was prix fixe with four French entree options. Food was presented well but not suitable for our Americana tastes. The beef filet was more top round cut. Portions were small and In my opinion overpriced. Side veggie was puree eggplant and tasteless. The house rouge table wine was 9+ euros per glass, little pricey for table option. Dessert option was good.Dinner for 2 was 90 euros. Chose breakfast option with our room rate and breakfast was good with Continental options and eggs cooked to order. Egg white veggie omlet was scrambled eggs served with English peas'''' Would choose this location in future, sanz dinner offering.
"An old Chateau tastefully modernised"
We stayed here for one night on our way home to the UK. The entrance was not easy to find but when we did we were very pleasantly surprised by this beautifully modernised hotel. We stayed in one of the modern annex rooms. Very smartly laid out and spacious. We didn't have time to use all the facilities but dinner and breakfast were excellent.
