"Not quite what I hoped for"
I just stayed for a Business trip i Oslo. Lets start with what was good: - staff friendly - easy check in - OK breakfast And so on to what is not really nice. - the room was not up to date, IT was small, not tidy and weared and stained. - from the elevator to the room the hall smelled terribly, old fart X 100, and was There in the morning AS well. - woke up early and had no hot water- maybe 22 degrees - and IT is simply not Good enough. But the worst experience was when i left a Bag of parcels in the reception for my son to pick up- two out of six parcels was now missing! So things taken care of by staff is beeing missed. I am very disapointed, if you cannot trus front end personell in a large hotell like this- something is terrible wrong. Sorry - you just does not cut it - not by a long shot!
"Good hotel in a perfect location"
I stayed for two nights in this hotel. The location is perfect because it is central, within walking distance from the central train station (I took the airport train (flytoget) to there from Gardemoen, which I highly recommend), and near Karl Johans gade, the main street of Oslo. Royal palace, Grand Cafe (were Ibsen used to have lunch every day), parliament, and other interesting things all within walking distance. The room was convenient and modern, beds comfortable, very reliable Wi-fi, but the window basically had no view of anything of interest. There is very good breakfast buffet, and a bar. Did not use the sauna or training facilities, but they looked OK to me.
Bad light and electricity system in the room. Training equipment not set-up correctly. Room conditioning system too loud (first room) Radiator behind curtain - well, useless. Had to change room - reception did a good job.
I got a room at the top floor (14th), good view, the room was fine With ordinary forniture. Negative: water from shower was running freely on all the bathroom floor. Toilet water was not stopping after flush. Not Clear how to adjust temperature. Positive: very near the Central Train station and the center of Oslo ( thought you can find even more Central hotels ). Very good brekfast, this was absolutely top. Given the price of over 1600 nok I can not give more than 3 stars, mainly because the room needs some simple work to be done. I have not tryed the pool and sauna. will probably try another hotell NeXT time
"Hit or miss with the rooms"
Stayed 2 nights. Its a very popular center located business hotel, always crowded. This time I got an old room, with a teared down bathroom. The contrast is huge compared with the newer rooms in this hotel. You really never know what you get. I think the room was icecold, not able to adjust it. The knob for heating did not respond, seems overrided centrally. Bed was new and really nice. They forgot to provide coffee on day 2, after cleaning. After a call to the reception about it, they was on my door with a lot of coffee within 3 minutes. Nice tv and fast Wifi. Breakfast buffet is really excellent. One of the best in town, for sure. The person that checked me in was ok, but not warm and welcoming. The hotel is big, really big. Its still something cozy about it. All in all a good hotel, i like it.
