"Decent Stay for Business Trip"
I stayed at the Clayton Hotel Chiswick when I was in the UK on business last week. Since I was there working, I did not have too much time to spend in the hotel, nor did I have a chance to take advantage of many amenities. That said, my colleagues and I arrived late for check -in and had no problem getting our room keys and getting checked in. The rooms were very hard to maintain temperature wise - it was either very cold or too hot. The water in the bathrooms never got that hot, which was disappointing since the rooms were cold! I did use the gym on two occasions and it was fine. There were some issues with temperature control (again, either freezing or way too warm!) But, lots of fresh towels, empty both times I went, enough machines/weights to get in a good workout, including 2 treadmills, rowing machine & bike and lots of free weights. The only meal I had at the hotel was breakfast and it was a full buffet breakfast with a lot of options that were healthy. I opted for an omelette on both mornings filled with veggies, which was good, as well as fruit, etc. Coffee is good and they refresh it often. Did not have the chance to go to the other restaurant at the hotel. The hotel is located about a 25 minute drive (with NO traffic- about 10 miles) to downtown London, and I am not too sure of what attractions/ sight seeing opportunities there are around the hotel... but the Kew Garden train station is a 5 minute walk from the hotel, so to get downtown it would be easy on the train.
"Hidden gem, amazing staff, great value for money"
Had to stay near Hammersmith on business and came across this fantastic hotel in Chiswick. Clearly the hotel has recently been updated, however there is still a great atmosphere and the staff are some of the most helpful and polite I have ever experience (for London that is saying something). The location was perfect being close to the main routes into London and local rail stations. I will most certainly be visiting the Hotel again in the future. Thanks Clayton for a great stay !
"Excellent stay "
I am American and this was my first time traveling out of the country as an adult, with this hotel being my first stop on my trip. They were incredibly helpful with absolutely anything and everything I needed, answered all my questions, and even came up to my room when I was confused about the light system in my room (which I felt so silly about afterwards)! They even let my girlfriend and me store our bags in a locked room after we checked out so we could continue to explore London without having to lug all our stuff around. I would definitely return to this hotel if I travel to London again in the future.
"Stayed for business"
On arrival the hotel was very busy, the room was not ready, my luggage was taken and I went to refresh I the ladies which was very, very small compared to the size of the hotel. During lunch I was able to check-in. On arriving in my room I realised that with the door sucked closed the room was hermetically sealed, the only ventilation was through the air conditioning, I felt like a fish in a gold fish bowl, windows floor to ceiling with a good view, a great view but I could not open any of it. The room itself was very clean and featured all the mod cons that you would expect from a modern hotel. However, by the morning I felt like a dried out husk, due to the air-con which was not quiet but if you don't have it on the room starts to stifle. Breakfast was really enjoyable all any one would need, very fresh and well presented. The service was excellent
I stayed here at the Clayton Hotel Chiswick on my first ever trip to London last week and it was amazing! The staff is so friendly and helpful which, being from the US and not knowing the area, I greatly appreciated. The bathrooms in the rooms are spacious and the shower and soaking bathtub are great! Plus, the breakfast buffet each morning has anything and everything you could want before you head out for the day. I will definitely be staying here again!
