My family and I stayed here for a couple of nights and we loved it. It's a great location - just a short walk to Hyde park / Kensington gardens. The rooms are basic but everything you need and they are clean. The receptionists are so helpful and friendly.
"Great hotel in nice neighbourhood"
I travelled alone and spent Christmas there (total 6 nights). This is my third time in London in 15 months. This hotel is the best I have stayed in. Positive: * I had the smallest room available, but it was still larger than the others I have stayed in. * The bed was a large double bed. A bit hard for me (I have a Tempur matress at home...) but the comforter was nice and there were 4 (hard) pillows. * All rooms have a small kitchenette. It had a microwave oven, stove, water heater, toaster, fridge and enough crockery and cutlery for 2 people. Pots and pans available upon request. * The shower had very good water pressure. * Schampoo, conditioner, shower gel, lotion and soap in small bottles was on a ledge when I came. I used them, and the next day I got new. * Bayswater is a very nice neighbourhood. Close to the tube (approx. 7 min walk) and a busy street with lots of shops and restaurants. Tesco (to the right on Queensway) had all I needed. * Very helpful staff. I could borrow an adapter when mine didn't work. * Good WiFi. * TV with around 40 channels. * I asked for a room that meant that I didn't have to haul my luggage (and myself) up a lot of stairs, so I got the ground floor. I know that most hotels in London only have elevators to some of the floors. Negative: * I stayed in room 11, on the ground floor. My window didn't open, and it was quite noicy outside, as the hotels AC-outdoor unit was right outside my window. * What a difference a small hook on the wall would have made! As I had my thick winter jacket, and it rained sometimes, it wasn't nice to have to hang it in the closet with my clean clothes. * Hard pillows and hard bed. Maybe I am spoiled, but I am glad that I brought one of my own pillows with me. * I guess I was here in low season. I have looked what it would cost to stay here in May or September, and its way too expensive for me. But I will be back! Hopefully.
"Great Location, Good Value"
Stayed here for 3 nights Friday-Sunday. Had a 3rd floor studio with a double and a sofa bed. Third floor room was a couple of flights of stairs up from the 3rd floor lift stop and,I judge, ok for most except those with large suite cases or not so good on their pins. Hotel and room very clean and good high standard of decor. Our room on the 3rd floor was quiet, the main double bed equipped with good quality lines and very comfy and sofa bed was just well just like a sofa bed so ok for a couple of nights. The kitchenette was well equipped. Very good value and the quiet location unusually restful. Took us 15 minutes casual walking from Paddington station and the same time to walk to breakfast/dinner elsewhere. Having stayed in London at dozens of hotels, this is a very good value location and, in its price category, well above average. Will be back.
"Make sure to get the right room"
Very nice hotel with nice rooms, good service and location - BUT...first night we got a room in the basement with the only window facing a small yard where the aircon/heating system for the entire hotels is placed. That meant that the window could not open, and the heatingsystem provided a constant, vibrating noice. Next night we were moved to a very nice room upstairs - would have made a big difference for our stay in we could have had that room from the start.
"Great location and Value"
Firstly if you need things such as a Bar/Breakfast Room/Restaurant then this isn't the place for you. With the kitchenette facilities it's perhaps best considered a small serviced apartment type offering rather than a Hotel. Either way for us it was ideal with a little one, no more than a 5-10 minute stroll to the tube, good sized room for the me, mum and the little one and pretty decent value IMO for a relatively central location with easy access to Hyde Park.
