"Great location and Value"
Firstly if you need things such as a Bar/Breakfast Room/Restaurant then this isn't the place for you. With the kitchenette facilities it's perhaps best considered a small serviced apartment type offering rather than a Hotel. Either way for us it was ideal with a little one, no more than a 5-10 minute stroll to the tube, good sized room for the me, mum and the little one and pretty decent value IMO for a relatively central location with easy access to Hyde Park.
"Nice little place with just the right touch of "London Charm" in the mix."
Selected this hotel based on location, price and reviews. Our rate included breakfast, which was a typical start of breads, cereal, fruit and cheese. I did see some reviews indicating the size of the rooms being small. We had one of the suites which was quite large for London. We did have stairs to climb to our room. We could have taken the elevator, but didn't feel the need. The location was about a 5+ minute walk from the Bayswater Underground Station, and about 10 minute walk from Paddington station. The staff was helpful even before we arrived, helping arrange for a car to/from the airport. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. We felt safe at all hours while walking about. Overall, an above average experience. We would stay here again.
"Would not recommend"
It is hard to call this a hotel because it does not have the facilities normally associated with a hotel. There is no dining room and no one to help with your luggage. There was no soap holder in the shower and washers were not provided. The room was very small, even after complaining and being moved it was still very small. I don't look at room sizes when booking and a standard room is almost always sufficient but this room did not even have room for bedside tables. Do not order breakfast it is £13 for a not very good continental breakfast. Restaurants nearby offer a full English breakfast for £5.50. My GPS told me it was 1.2 kilometres round trip to the Bayswater subway station. Not good in the rain. Some rooms have stairs to get to them so if this may be a problem I would advise contacting the Hotel before booking. I will not be returning.
"Small hotel with cozy rooms and great location"
This is a small hotel just above Bayswater road and Hyde Park not far from Paddington station. A perfect location for shopping Oxford/Picadilly or Notting Hill, or exploring any part of London by bus or underground. Busstop close by gets you everywhere (best way to see London) - or underground at Lancaster Gate (where you can purchase Oyster card). I stayed here w my dauhgter (12 yrs) a few days in November 2016. Rooms are small but cozy and nicely decorated w kitchenettes (microwave, fridge etc) and nice bathrooms. Beds are Queen size (160 cm). There is only one small common area by the reception area (Note: there is no bar or restaurant) and if you order breakfast (continental) it is served in the room. A better option is the cafés and breakfast places close by - Try No 19 on Leinster Terrace for English breakfast or any toast and great smoothies.
"Excellent location on a quiet street"
The Cleveland is very conveniently located, near Paddington station (with direct connections to Heathrow and to Cornwall and Devon), Queensway, Lancaster Gate and Bayswater tube stations. It is a short walk to Hyde Park and to Queensway with its many eating places, shops, Sainsbury and Tesco, etc. The room and bathroom are clean, well maintained and brightly lit. Coffee and tea are on free flow at the reception. There is a well provided kitchenette with crockery and cutlery, fridge, toaster, micro wave oven, etc. Our family of 3 stayed for 3 nights in Sep/Oct on the ground floor directly opposite reception, can’t remember the room number, with a view of the quiet street. Would return when next visiting London
