"One Of My Absolute Favourite Hotels In The World"
Oh wow! Where to begin'' The hotel itself is absolutely stunning set up on a hill so that you are not overlooked but have breath taking views for miles around. The staff bent over backwards to accommodate our every need and the rooms were understated but luxurious with huge attention to detail in every aspect. The food was top notch, even the simplest of salads tasted amazing and the wine selection was good without being outrageously expensive. The breakfast was also divine and the surrounding of the dining hall just made the whole experience one of complete indulgence. We ended up paying a fortune to re-book our tickets and stayed for an extra two nights because we just couldn't face leaving. Just writing this review makes me miss that place and I would do back in a heart beat. Amazing!!
"A truly 5 star resort"
My wife and I stayed for 4 nights for a relaxing vacation early this month. Point Yamu by Como definitely delivered. in term of service ie prompt, swift and attentive, cleanliness and extremely comfortable bed and beautiful design of the building. We ere warmly welcomed by the front office crew including Kin -the Room Division Manager. During our stay we visited the two restaurants, breakfast room, bar , treatment room and private beach. I like the cheerfully bright and airy atmosphere in the Italian Restaurant. as well as the warm pool in the spa.. One can spend the whole day relaxing by the pool simply glazing in the sky, this is how much I like the aesthetics of the place. I had the best Como Shambhala massage and facial treatment. My wife also had the same opinion as me. She had a deep tissue massage instead. I trust the review and photos attached will help you to decide on your next trip to Phuket.
We stayed for 1 week in May and everything was perfect. The views are 360'. The staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel is beautiful, serene and the surroundings are stunning. The location is remote, but that suited us, having been to Phuket many times, we were happy to stay at the resort. The day trip to the private island beach club can not be faulted, the service and food excellent. We dined at the restaurants everyday, La Sirena, Aqua Bar and Nahmyaa, we love Thai food and there was plenty of choice. The Como Shambala menu was also on offer and we loved the steamed fish of the day with shitake mushroom broth and brown rice. The breakfast was great and there were many choices on the ala carte menu. Happy hour at Aqua Bar was good value and staff were attentive. We stayed in a Bay room, it was spacious and serviced twice a day. The media hub in the room allowed us to connect our laptop and binge watch our own Netflix and Amazon prime via the large flat screen TV. The Como Shambala retreat which we visited a few times is well worth a visit, there are plunge pools, sauna and steam rooms. The gym is clean and functional and there are choices of free yoga and pilates classes to attend. I had a combined massage and facial, (there was a special on) 2 hours later, my body was relaxed and my skin hydrated and smooth.
"Overall Great Hotel "
If I am being very picky, the hotel needs more door staff as luggage wasn't taken immediately when we arrived and doors were not always opened when we departed/returned from outings. However overall the hotel is well designed, with an interesting Italian-Thai take on decor. The food is very very good especially the Thai restaurant which was hands down the best Thai food we have had in three trips to the country. The exec chef was particularly accommodating with my shellfish allergy and went above and beyond to prepare special Thai food for me as well as informing all restaurant staff of my requirements ... really excellent. Some staff members, particularly Gap at the pool (who was just amazing!), and Nok at the restaurant were brilliant. Others were good but not great - we found the female staff in the Italian restaurant at breakfast and lunch a little variable. The lady at the excursion desk was very talented at her job. The front desk staff were efficient but for some reason I felt they were a little off and maybe a touch snobbish and less sincere with their position at the hotel (not sure if they get paid more but it felt they were trying to prove their authority over the other departments ). Would be nice if the hotel had its own more luxury boat to the beach club and handed out water on the boat to avoid getting sunstroke and dehydration. I've heard the GM is ex Four Seasons and the hotel reaches four seasons level of service 25% of the time but not 100%. I get that como is a different product but it is fairly expensive given the average price in Phuket and I don't feel the service is much better than lower cost properties. Still it was a positive experience and a nice option for Phuket.
"Hide Away Place"
Located quite far away from all those tourist places...peaceful, beautiful, romantic, and very neat!! Staff are extremely helpful and attentive to service. Food also great, cocktail by the pool is also a great combination. The only so so thing is the pool that is a bit small the rest is just awesome
