I wish I had carefully read the reviews. Was excited to stay here but only to be quite disappointed. For this price range and in Mexico I expected better. Cons: room smells like fresh paint, dirty floor (dust, sand), walked in to a used toilet, very small room, extremely dark shower probably so that you don't see the tiles coming apart. No space in the bathroom for your personal items. Rooftop and restaurant are really nothing that trendy or exciting. There are much better places near the hotel. Pros: next to a nice park, great area of town filled with lots of trendy restaurants, cafes, bars I have stayed in many design hotels and this was by far the biggest disappointment. For the price range, there must be better options in Mexico City! If all else fails, I am sure there are even more spectacular Airbnbs in this price range.
"Great hotel, good location"
The hotel is great. Breakfast is amazing. Rooftop is a must do. Rooms are very comfortable. The only change I´d suggest is the light available in the restrooms. It´s very, very dark and it is hard to see in the early morning and at night. So it should be improved. Besides that, it´s high recommended. Loved it!
"Perfect mix of new and old Mexico City"
We enjoyed our room that was overlooking the lovely Avenida Veracruz. It made us feel like we live in this city. The hotel is beautifully renovated. It's a perfect boutique hotel. Great meals at the hotel restaurant with the slightly higher prices. Amazing views of the city from the sushi restaurant located on the rooftop. Have a cocktail and enjoy the view. Perfect location in Colonia Condessa residential neighborhood. It was very nice to take a stroll down the neighborhood streets lined up with trees. The hotel is at the walking distance from the Colonia Roma as well as many restaurants and galleries. You can also take a walk to the beautiful Chapultepec Park where you can visit Rufino Tamayo Museum and the Anthropology Museum (don't miss these two city jewels!). There you will see first class permanent collections as well as excellent temporary exhibitions.
"Last Honeymoon Stop..."
On our last stop of a 15 Day Honeymoon vacation we visited Mexico City's popular Condesa ~ Roma neighborhoods to enjoy their renowned restaurant and bar scene. We pick CONDESA DF as our home during this trip due to their central location in front of "Parque España." We like the following aspects of our one bedroom terrace suite: The bed, the shower , the service ( when we ask..), prompt room service delivery for dinner, that's it ! The following areas NEED A LOT OF WORK: Room floors were dusty / poorly clean, elevator had bad odor during complete stay, noises coming from nightclub at night, damage / dangerous terrace wood decking, etc. Lack of drawers in either your night stand or another furniture, this hotel is not for you. If you need space in the bathroom counter to accommodate your personal toiletries, then go somewhere else. While I understand that Mexico city is an expensive destination, there are many better choices in lodging at this price range.
I stayed at this hotel 3 times in 2014 and 2015. It has many bad reviews here on tripadvisor and the only reason I can think of is perhaps the cost of food and drinks as I didn't seem to have the problems with the staff that people mention on here. Nevertheless, I do not pick hotels because of only the service and price of the restaurant as I never tend to eat in hotel restaurants, usually opting for nearby cafes and restaurants, which, there are plenty of in La Condesa. If you don't like the breakfast price try Maque 2 minutes walk from the hotel which is traditional Mexican. The building has a lot of character and the interior design is exquisite (I work in the design industry). If you are looking to staying in a run of the mill high tower chain hotel, then go to the Intercontinental or W as boutique design hotels are not for you.
