"Pleasant Modern Hotel in Mexico City"
I just stayed at the Condesa DF and found it more that adequate. It was very nice. The service personnel from the front desk to the maids to the wait staff in the hotel were all very personable and helpful. The food in the restaurant was good for breakfast and lunch, although the staff were a little slow here. Excellent cocktails and the upstairs roof top bar is cool. Very safe and convenient section of town with many close restaurants and parks. Room was clean and everything was fully functioning in the room, with nice toiletries. Funky modern vibe all the way around with a shot of tequila at check-in.
"Worst Hotel Experience"
We were staying here with a group of more than 30 for an international convention. Still no idea how we end up here. At no time the internet was working, so we missed most of our work. They kept blaming a tree , a broken router, the internet provider...... The "free breakfast" is a joke. Management incompetent and careless. Rooms Noisy. Fitness Center non existing. Old Beds. Dirty old showers. No international TV but CNN international after 2 days of complaining. I spend $1000 US Dollars for the worst Hotel in Mexico City. Safe your money and the headaches and go with the big brands.
"AVOID!!! Expensive and mediocre NOT WORTH IT"
had high hopes for this hotel, despite reviews saying it was somewhat noisy. I thought this would just be the trade off for staying in a trendy hotel in a hip neighborhood. This I was prepared for. However, what I did not expect were noises emanating from the walls of our room (Room I.IV - AVOID AT ALL COSTS) of a mechanical nature, including: washing machines clanging behind our bed, whistling from the HVAC and unidentifiable banging during our afternoon naps and at 6 am. If you scroll down a few months, you'll see another traveler said the same exact thing (RicardoSangion). I wish I had seen this review before booking, rather than after the fact. We complained to the front desk 3x to try and fix the noises, to no avail. We asked to change rooms 2x, but were told the property was sold out so there was nothing they could do. After 4 nights of this nonsense, I am bleary eyed and frustrated. We paid more than $1,000 USD for our stay and it simply wasn't worth it - the hotel was by far the worst aspect of our trip. Do not stay here if you enjoy sleeping and/or having helpful front desk service!!!
"Past its prime..."
I stayed at the Condesa based on a recommendation of a friend that had "heard" good things... based on the rate, which is expensive for DF I don't think that my expectations matched reality... I stayed in a corner terrace suite, I have no idea why it was called a corner, which was unfortunately located right under the terrace bar... like the literal bar... the noise from the terrace wasn't so. As until clean up around 2am when I was awoken by crashing bottles. The bathroom is a horrible design with. O place to put your toiletries and the hardware is cheap Voile knock offs that broke repeatedly during my stay. The rooms interior design is sparse and dated, nothing cozy about it all. The front desk didn't inform me that a package had arrived for my pick up. My water bottle was opened. The complimentary tequila at the front desk is a nice touch... I suggest two or three shots to make you feel better about the accommodations.
"Pricey drinks and food, but great bar and hangout rooftop "
Stayed here a few times. Not impressed with the rooms although it's one of the best places you can stay in the city. The rooftop area is my favorite. The drinks and the food were completely overpriced but still ok because it's a pretty hip place to hang out. The bar / restaurant area downstairs isn't that fantastic but again, better than most other places in the city. I wouldn't stay here as a first option unless I absolutely had to, but would definitely come back to the rooftop bar whenever possible. Fun place. Service a bit slow overall.
