"Gorgeous hotel, superb staff"
The Conrad St James is an exquisite hotel. The lobby is regal, the rooms are breathtaking, and the staff goes above and beyond. My boyfriend and I unwittingly kept the bar open one night during our stay and not until the wee hours of the morning did the staff mention to us that the bar had closed. The front desk clerks were charming and knowledgeable. The concierge kept our luggage safe for two days AFTER we had checked out. And upon checking out the hotel manager personally contacted me to thank me for our stay. This hotel hits the mark all the way around. Highly recommended.
I recently had the great pleasure of staying at the Conrad. From the minute I walked in the staff was ready and willing to help. The Conrad and it's staff are highly recommended for anyone looking for great service & accommodations.
"Another Superb Conrad"
This was the 2nd Conrad we've stayed in. The first was during our honeymoon and left a fantastic impression. Conrad St James had a lot to live up to and although it was only a single night stay we left very impressed. Check-in was reassuringly swift and efficient although the breakfast situation wasn't perfectly explained. We were left unclear as to whether breakfast in room was included. It needed a quick call to reception to clarify. It turned out that it was, for a small £3.50 surcharge. The continental that arrived was excellent and although they couldn't seem to source frosties for my wife it was otherwise spot on. We had a deluxe room which was very well appointed with an excellent bathroom. The beds were comfy but the pillow slightly softer than we'd have liked. I'd heard tales of very bad phone signal in this hotel and found the same. Nearly zero signal. Not a deal breaker but a bit annoying. The lack of openable windows was also a slight downside, but the AC was effective. The Bluetooth in room, which is meant to allow connection of iPhone (and similar) to the in-room tv/speaker system but try as I might I couldn't achieve this. I'm pretty technical too so I don't think I was being overly dense! All minor nits though, from beginning to end a very pleasant stay, I'd certainly visit again. Fantastic hotel. Conrad offer a very high end service and I continue to be impressed. Effortless and non-condescending service with style and luxury.
"Modern/ Excellent Location and gracious Service"
London has so many choices these days and it can be bewildering in terms of options. Whether business or leisure, location usually trumps all other requirements. Conrad satisfies above all - on this count. Location: A modern hotel - its a short walk to Big Ben/ the Abbey or Buckingham palace. its just across from St James underground station and location just cannot be beat. Amenities: What a relief! to walk into a modern bathroom unlike the Mews converted dungeons you usually presented with! The building has been torn apart on the inside and and been completely redone- modern rooms/bathrooms/ excellent breakfast with elevators that are just a few years old and work without having to wedged in like sardines. Breakfast and Bar: Excellent well appointed breakfast restaurant which does tend to get busy but well worth the money and well appointed. Concierge: Easy going /helpful/efficient and checkout was quick and smooth. Parking is a bit expensive but- thats London. Overall: A Modern understated well appointed hotel with an amazing location and efficient service much better than the faded pretentious brands on park lane or the over promoted /crowded options in Knightsbridge or Kensington high street. Conrad offers the best combination of value/service/luxury and location in London currently and i have tried most of the London hotels by rotation over the last 20 years.
"The Conrad Suite...what an experience! "
We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary this weekend but never could have imagined to have done it in the style we did! Now I'm a regular at the Conrad but have never experienced the delights of the Conrad Suite. Truly exceptional in every way..you head up marble stairs into your private living room and separate dining room (8 seats!) and meander through to the bedroom with the comfy bed! Huge bathroom with luxurious rolling bath, shower room and your own dressing room. As per usual the service was just perfect. A huge thanks to Paul and Beverly for the extra touches too which had my wife in tears (in a very good way!). I have stayed in luxury suites all around the world and nothing has topped this! Outstanding
