"A great stay in central London"
We stayed for 5 days over the New Year's holiday and had a fantastic stay. Everything about our stay was very enjoyable. From check-in to check out, everything went very well. The check-in process was quick and friendly and upon entering our rooms, we were treated to very nice, very clean and well appointed rooms. Our rooms were kept in great shape for us throughout our stay. We really enjoyed our rooms and the beds were very comfortable as well. We ordered room service on our first night and really enjoyed all of the food. It was all very well prepared and everyone enjoyed their meals. The Conrad is located in a great part of the city. You're close to so many sights! In less than 10 minutes, you can walk to Buckingham Palace or if you go a different direction, you can be in the Big Ben/Westminster Abbey/London Eye area. The hotel is also located right by an Underground station so you can get on or off the subway with ease. This Conrad location definitely lived up to the Conrad brand. It's not as over the top as other Conrad hotels I have stayed at before, but it was very well appointed - the rooms were a nice size and were comfortable and the service received throughout our stay was top notch. If we returned to London for another visit, we would certainly enjoy the opportunity to book another stay here.
Perfect location. Very friendly and polite staff. Clean and well kept facilities. Nice lobby and bar. Literally across the street from a tube stop so getting anywhere in London is a breeze. Would recommend without reservation.
"FABULOUS CONRAD ST JAMES"
I live in London, but as my daughters were visiting, I decided to treat us to 2 nights at the Conrad St James. From the moment we arrived, and were greeted by the concierge and reception staff, we felt like royalty. We were early, but that waant a problem, and were offered to go the executive lounge, (as we had booked an exectutive room) to wait if we wished. There, we were again treated so well by all the staff, and the sandwiches and scones were delicious. Our room was outstanding, beautifully clean and comfy, the sheets, pillows, and beds were fantastic. The location, , a 30 second walk to the tube was a god send, as my daughters went out to Sloane Square for dinner, and felt very safe coming back late at night, as its so close. The Manager of this hotel should be very proud of his staff, they are a credit to him. If youre looking for a 5* experience in London, I would definitely recommend this hotel.
"Very disappointing. Look elsewhere"
After an incredible stay at the Conrad in Tokyo we were very much looking forward to our stay at this property. However, we left extremely underwhelmed. The location is good for visiting touristy sites, but other than that the hotel is very average for a high end property. The rooms and common spaces have recently been upgraded but still feel somewhat dated. They are also very small, which I understand is something you just have to deal with in central London. The gym was a disaster (windowless room in a basement with older equipment). We tried both the breakfast in the restaurant and in the executive lounge and both were quite honestly disgusting. It was one of the worst breakfasts I have had at a luxury property ever. The scrambled eggs on the buffet resembled something you would get at a prison, dirty napkins, loud and cramped restaurant, and not much of a selection on the buffet. The executive lounge itself is good. Service overall was very good. I would not stay here again and I strongly suggest that anyone considering this hotel look elsewhere as there are many better options in London.
A wonderful stay in the perfect location for business and pleasure. From this hotel you can visit all the London sites by foot and easily travel further by tube just a second from the hotel lobby. Service was excellent and the restaurant staff went above and beyond to ensure the pleasurable part of our trip was memorable.
