"Just the way we like"
We just spent the weekend at Cooking and Nature emotional hotel. First location, close to Fatima (religious tourism), from here you can visit many small historical cities, visit some of the nicest underground caverns in the country or simply enjoy natures walking or with a bike (supplied by the hotel). The hotel itself is very nice, great effort has been made to create a ambience in public areas and in the rooms. The rooms have different theme you may choose upon availability, we got the "avatar" room with a round shape bed. The staff is a credit to the hotel, everyone we had contact with was top. We had the cooking workshop on Friday night, great experience with chef Ricardo, thank you!! We wanted to book for Saturday but it was already booked...
"Best b&b in Portugal"
After 2 days heat in the Douro valley, the cooler climate of the surrounding was very much welcome. Located at the border of a national park, this b&b offers a quietness in a very stylish setting! Great swimming pool surrounded by old olive trees, utmost friendly staff, spacious and well decorated rooms and a good breakfast in the morning. Dinner is simple but well prepared and after that you can take a coffee or tea outside at the campfire
"Lovely small hotel"
The hotel is located in the countryside near a small village. The hotel has exciting décor and serves a varied breakfast. The hotel has a beautiful outdoor area with pool and sun loungers. The pool is located so one feels that in the middle of the nature. The location is perfect to see the nearby caves and several of portugal known sights.
"Special little hotel with love for nature"
The room was not really 100% to our liking, with a view on the street/parking and open bathroom. We only stayed for 1 night, so couldn't enjoy all the activities, but we followed the cooking class, which we liked. We also enjoyed the pool while having a drink from the honesty bar. Overall, there was a very quiet atmosphere and a lot of attention to detail in the decorations.
It's a really nice hotel in the mountains. The food is excellent and the cooking class is very fun. It is hard to arrange other activities and everything must be arranged 24-48 hours in advance . There are omelettes made to order but all other breakfast foods are cold buffet. We didn't do the other activities and used it as a stopping point for traveling. Nice location and friendly staff. Expect to pay about 60 euro extra per day for food and snacks . I didn't like the room all that much but the bed was comfortable . Comparable prices to the US and not the best on value . There is no gym and the pool is cold . It's a nice B and B with great food and location; decent rooms and fair amenities but for Portugal I would expect more value. With the extra spent it was about $220-$225 per day, which is a bit high.
