The Admiral is a great hotel, in a great location that we got at a great price through Prestigia.Comment of H. Stephen , United States the 2014-08-01
"Good hotel. Great location."
Great location. Nice view from room overlooking the opera house and the waterfront. Room was clean and spacious enough with sofa and lounge chair. We used local bakery for breakfast as price at hotel was ridiculous.
"Great hotel near everything - and great breakfast"
A really good location for touring Copenhagen. The hotel itself is in very good shape: our room was recently redone: the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was modern. We paid for an upgrade to a room overlooking the water on a higher floor. Well worth it. Quiet with a great view. The staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating. The breakfast had almost everything you could ask for and well worth it. We had a snake and a drink in the lobby one afternoon and it was tasty and well priced. The hotel location is ideal: 5 minute walk from the old town center but just far enough away to feel like a retreat from the crowds.
We had 2 rooms here in April. Regular rooms that had some nice beam work in them. The rooms were plain, nothing exciting. The service was good, the location was great for walking to Nyhavn. The restaurant called Salt was wonderful, very good even if you are not staying there. The lobby bar was average. I am sure there are better hotels, but this one was historic.
"Take it or Leave it"
Had heard about this historic hotel, but was a bit disappointed once I arrived. Unfortunately, my room had a distinct odor to it, like sewer water. Once I notified the front desk, a cleaning person promptly came to the room and poured some bleach cleaner down the drain in the bathroom. The hotel is obviously old, and could use some updates. On a positive note, the staff was amicable and helpful, and the location was ideal right on the waterfront, and within walking distance of shopping areas. Overall, just didn't think it was all it was cracked up to be.
We booked this hotel after seeing it on a Rick Stein programme. We were not disappointed especially as we were upgraded to a waterfront room. Everything you would expect from a four star hotel, courteous and friendly staff. Good location for visiting the sites, we walked everywhere. Easy access to and from airport, 10 min walk to metro which only takes 8 minutes to do the journey.
