Came in at 11:30am after a long 10 hours flight. The reception was strict "Check in is at 14:00 only". Even though its mid January and the city is half empty. Tired and in need for a shower I had to start roaming the streets of CPH till 14:00. When I came back, checked in, asked if there is an Iron in the room. "We can give you one", and the reception guy brought me an iron board and iron so I found myself trying to carry my suitcase, backpack and an Iron Board to my room after the travel I had. Service and hospitality is lowest ever.
"Very close to the railway to stay overnight en route to Greece with train."
Good bed - I slept like an angel! And when I arrived with a late train, everything was ready for med - the booking and the reception in the hotel just worked! The bed was soft, and As I said, I slept very good and was rested in the morning, at the morning call when the phone rang.
"Loud and grimy hotel with rude staff"
Danes are not known to be the most cosmopolitan or polite people, but I was unnerved on check in that the front desk staff expressed his disbelief that my non-white partner speaks Danish. A note to your staff: your hotel is in the biggest city in your country, not on a farm, so expect to encounter some diversity. Typical Danish microagression. The staff member was cold, offered no welcome or thank you upon check-in either, which I found rude. We stayed on the second floor on the Tivoli facing side. The room was drafty and grimy, with paint chipping off the walls, dingy lighting, wallpaper hanging loose, scuff marks on the walls, and rust build-up in the bathroom. It was clear that very little effort has been made to maintain this hotel. The windows offered very little sound insulation from the road below. So it was like sleeping right next to a highway. The sound of cars coupled with hordes of drunk Danes stumbling by and screaming well into the early morning hours made this a miserable experience. My partner, who has stayed on the train-track facing side said that side is even noisier than the Tivoli side. Even though we were booked for two nights we checked out of the hotel after the first night and instead moved to the Crown Plaza Copenhagen, where we had an excellent sleep in a clean, quiet room with very friendly staff.
"Best decision ever."
It's the best choice I've ever made when planning a trip. Nice, comfortable, really nice staff... If I ever come back, I'll repeat! The location was perfect, next to the central station and close to the long pedestrian street full of shops, and also near the hop on hop off bus stops. There are some people complaining about the train noises, but they didn't bother us at all!
"Will be back"
The location of the hotel, being next to the central trainstation, Tivoli and Vesterbrø area with all its bars and restaurants is optimal. The rooms make you feel like home, breakfast is fine, the bar is nice and the staff very good. I had a problem with my shower. Not only did they fix it, they also gave me a proper discount. Bravo!
