"4 Star'' in 1991 perhaps. Run down, tired, we were mis-sold"
*I'll say this now since my experience with them - They have offered me an apology and a £30 room rate next time.... but its highly unlikely there will ever be a 'next time'. Partner booked our room (419) which was classed as a 'CLUB' (room class above their standard room) and it fell seriously short in comfort. The bathroom was an embarrassment and should leave them ashamed. See photo's. There were chips and scuffs on the furniture and the room left me breathless (literally). Don't mind spending money on a nice hotel, and also appreciate budget too - depending on my needs. This was awful, they addressed my disgust 57 hours after leaving the place. Saying it was totally booked up and couldn't have moved us. But the point is, they should never have been renting out a room in this state. (judge for yourself from pics) I hope they respond on here and I'll happily copy and paste our email correspondence. It too was a joke, as they offer a discount on a future stay without addressing the £78 spend on the last one. Disgraceful. I've stayed in better Youth Hostels and that is no joke. (sadly)
"An average stay..."
Hotel faces towards some pretty horrible looking flats and a dodgy multi-storey carpark. However, a grand entrance and on arrival appears like an impressive place to stay. We stayed in Room 208. It's nice enough but quite small. The shower head is fixed so unless you are 5ft tall, you need to bend down to wash your hair. The shower curtain blows around with the bathroom fan and sticks to you which is rather annoying and the bathroom floor gets wet. The bathroom door was a nightmare to close and makes a loud clatter. The floor was very uneven and creaked with every step you took. Overall the staff very friendly on reception but the Copthorn rooms are old and dated. We expected a little more what we paid.
Place is lovely when you walk in. Staff are great and really friendly and helpful. Bedrooms are dated and could do with updating but really comfy. Food was excellent. Would happily use again. Great location for all near things in town
"A short walk to city centre"
This is an older hotel, but has a good size room, big bathroom and a very good bed. The room was a little warm and the window wouldn't open. There was a constant noise of music coming from one of the other rooms. When I arrived I had made a mistake with the dates when I booked this the day before. They allowed me to change the dates ago charge which was very good of them. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
Dated room on the 3rd floor. I would say in its hey day this would have been one of Aberdeens best. I could point out some flaws in my room but on the whole wasn't that bad to put me off. My room service meal certainty was very prompt to arrive . Starter over priced but main course was value for money. It was delivered by a well presented well mannered waiter. Breakfast very overpriced. Car parking not good at all. Over all it is tired and could do with some investment from head office certainly no reflection on the staff who work with dedication here.
