"A Good Hotel"
We stayed there as a couple for 1 week. The hotel has a good offer. The people working there are friendly, and it is a clean hotel. However, in the last 2 days of our stay, room service would keep forgetting to take out used mugs or dishes, replace the complementary coffee we used, or take away used towels for cleaning. Also the wifi was horrible, it only connected for 2 min before disconnecting again.
"Good location but needs updating"
Stayed for a couple of nights because of a good deal found online. Location is great, few minutes walk from Union Street and about 10/15 minutes from Union Square shopping centre and plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants nearby. Rooms are nice but a bit outdated, however hairdryer, iron and tea and coffee making facilities are all included so can't complain too much. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Decided to eat dinner at the restaurant one night as we were impressed with the menu shown online although it was limited and a bit on the pricey side. We made a reservation as we thought it would be busy but there was only one other couple there when we first arrived. There is a different menu available to what is advertised online which was a bit disappointing and unfortunately the food wasn't really worth the price. Website also advertises cocktails available in the bar however this is a very small list of gin-based cocktails which was a bit disappointing. We parked in the long stay car park across the road as the hotel's small car park doesn't seem to be in use. Overall happy with the hotel in terms of facilities and location which was great for the price considering it was September weekend but would recommend eating out at one of the many nearby restaurants.
"great central hotel"
We stayed in the Copthorne hotel last night as we were in Aberdeen with friends. We parked in the multistory carpark directly across the road from the hotel which only cost £5. Check in was super fast and the receptionist was really nice. We had a room on the third floor which was spacious and nice, lots of extra touches with bathrobes and slippers, toothpaste and brush, toiletries and tea/coffee and hot chocolate. The room was warm but we opened the window and put on the fan. Bed and pillows were comfy and large bath towels were availabe. The room was clean and yes dull because of the small window but ample lighting to combat this. I never actually notice if the carpets were threadbare or not, we were only here to sleep so absolutely no issues. We were even lucky that the seagulls took a day off so no noise issues at all. Breakfast is served buffet style and we were quite late in going down but everything was fresh and replenished quickly. Plenty choice for all tastes, cereal, toast, cooked breakfast, fruit, yogurts and plenty tea coffee etc. Would highly recommend this place and will stay again on future visits to Aberdeen.
"Not a 4*"
We had a 2 night stay recently. Reception fine, comfortable bed, ensuite probably could need a revamp, slightly tired. We went to the bar about 6.30ish for a meal, only to be told we couldn't be accommodated, so we had to go out to eat. The following morning we went for breakfast, 9.40, to be directed to a table that was not prepared! The bare minimum of food. At 10.05 everything was taken away, but we weren't asked beforehand if we wanted anything. Very poor standard and lack of training.
Stayed here back in June for one night stay before attending a wedding. The hotel is in a good central location however the area not sure is great' just felt abit run down. The hotel entrance is ok, receptionist was helpful and check in easy. The restaurant is ok the food wasn't great and limited choice for gluten free. The room itself was ok, Clean and standard. Bathroom could do with a bit of upgrading as cracked tiles etc Would I stay here again, no. Just didn't feel to standards like advertised and the area for me didn't feel safe.
