Booked this hotel as we were going to see Heaven 17 at The Town hall and this hotel was the closest to that venue. It is only a short walk away. We managed to park in the hotels car park. After a nightmare trying to find it due to roadworks. At Reception the chap who checked us in could do with some retraining, he was The most impolite of all of the reception staff we have ever came across. Please and Thank you and Good manners cost nothing. Being greeted by some one just saying "Surname" then as I gave it he then didn't bother with us and saw to some one who was stood next to us but was behind us in the so-called que. then he came back to us with "Surname" yet again, that didn't impress us one bit. He gave us Absolutely no information about The hotel. The chap who checked us out was ok though. Our room was clean and tidy. Average sized. With Tea/coffee facilities. Iron and ironing board, trouser press. A Very big bed. TV. A Bath/shower plus toiletries. Plenty of soft clean towels. Yes we would stay here again in the future as the hotel is ok. Yes we would recommend it too.
Cannot fault really. Rooms are warm with fantastic views. Room service was prompt & great quality of food. Staff were extremely polite & very helpful. Can only say will definitely return to a Copthorne as a very professional hotel with high standards.
"Don't think I will book again😡"
Very outdated hotel, with no character at all and feels unclean and not welcoming. Amazed that you need to pay for the Wi-Fi in the hotel, not seen that for a very longtime. Not that friendly at the reception when I arrived, no advice on the parking, meals or breakfast.
"Expensive prosecco and the worst coffee ever"
Attended here for a conference with work. The positives are nice reception and bar area and pleasant staff. After that it's pretty much downhill. The coffee served was so weak you could see very clearly to the bottom of your cup. Sandwiches and chips were ok for lunch and edible enough to get you through the day. The room the conference was held in was very oppressive due to the number of lights above your head and the heat was unbearable. The little fans provided making little/no difference. The meal provided at night time was a scant choice of salad and I recall a turkey curry. Both not good. The prosecco was a decent one but at 30 a bottle I expected so. The halls/corridors on the way to the rooms were outdated. But the rooms were big spacious once inside and I got a good nights sleep. I would not visit again if I had to pay for it myself.
"located on Paradise circus, but definitely not paradise"
Rooms are tired, bathrooms are dark & the shower is either ridiculously hot or cold, the hotel is basically in need of a complete refurb, also had quite possibly the worst bed in the world (530) that I restored to having to place pillows down the centre to stop me rolling in to the massive dip in the mattress. The lift is a joke, whichever floor you select, there is no guarantee you'll get there on your first attempt! The hotel is currently in the middle of a building site & although not the hotels fault, the views & noise are unbearable!
