The furniture is outdated but the rooms curtains and wallpaper look updated. Beds are comfortable if you like firm. I didn't notice any noises from neighboring rooms, but my husband heard noise from a few vehicles with muffler issues. Room was clean and the included breakfast had variety. Coffee could have been a bit stronger. Staff was pleasant.
"Good Hotel close to Cardiff City Centre"
Good comfortable rooms, staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast well worth booking in advance Will book a room at the back over looking the lake next time we visit. Short 4.5 mile drive by dual carriageway straight into the Millennium Centre area of the City and only a short drive 5 miles to the City centre to go shopping, etc. Attractions Museum for Welsh Life right on your doorstep + all the ones in the City. Castle, Welsh National Museum Go and enjoy.
Nice but a little dated hotel in need of modernisation a couple of miles off the M4 with decent lake views, the food is not too bad and the service a little slow.Breakfast is buffet style but when items run out they are a bit slow replacing them but it was a nice breakfast, the bar prices certainly for the beers and lagers are reasonable averaging about £3,80 a pint but glass of vino will cost between £7- 8.50 and a bottle about £25. The room I stayed in was very comfortable with a king size bed with a separate seated area on the fifth floor. there is a health club but I didn't try any of the facilities.
Staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful.hotel needs a lick of paint and maybe a window cleaner to see great views.did find black hair in the sink and bath(definitely not mine)and towels were well worn
"Dated and needs a lot of work"
Where do I start! On arrival I thought I going to a lovely hotel but by the evening My thoughts had changed. At first glance the roon looked lovely my only concern was it looking over the car park but I didn't hear anything. It was quite clean and the bed was comfy, however the pillows where a little hard and the bed sheet didn't stay on. Other than that it just needing up dating. You could see that somethings had been replaced but more needed to be done. I was impressed with the staff in the evening, both at the bars and at the dinner. However when some guests where making a little noise in the early hours I didn't feel it was right for myself and my table to be told that we couldn't sit out either. After all we weren't the ones making the noise. There's my biggest disappointment! The breakfast. My colleague and I had to wait to be seated by ten minutes. We where asked did we want tea or coffee, which we gave our order but a gain ten minutes later we had to ask for it again. All the fruit looked like it was tinned so I didn't bother, I went straight to the cooked breakfast which was cold. Guests just wasn't putting the lids down and the pour person who as trying to replenish them and cook fried eggs could keep up with putting them down. Well they couldn't even cook the fried eggs!!! And it didn't help that the hot plates you was putting you food on was as cold as the food. Another colleague only wanted a coffee and they was told they would have it brought out to then on the veranda, however it never arrived. Sorry but I wasn't impressed!!!!
