The Copthorne Hotel Merry Hill Dudley is located in the Brierley Hill, next to the Merry Hill Shopping Complex, and 5 minutes from the Dudley town centre.
My company has recently taken on new business local to this hotel so it has been a base for many and we have used to host induction days. Faultless staff, great rooms and good food. Comfy beds, great facilities.
"Great as always"
I stay here every year with 3 friends for Christmas Shopping at Merry Hill. The nice thing is the reception staff have been there for years and remember us. We had an issue with our trip advisor booking as they only had one room not 2. I had my booking details with me and instead of saying I needed to contact trip advisor they did it. Despite it not being resolved straight away the gage us two rooms next to each other and said the would resolve it.
"Shopping trip with the wife"
Hotel is in a fantastic location for Merry Hill shopping centre with plenty of links via public transport if you don't drive. The staff was first class and check in was swift and easy. Faradays was a great place to eat and have a drink on the evening. My only downsides was the room I was in 435 was very nice, but next to the lift's on the top floor so the noise every time it was used was like a bassline. We did sleep, but kept waking up throughout the night as it was in constant use. We didn't complain at the time as didn't fancy moving room during the night, but fill out the customer feedback form with the issue. If the receptionist had asked how our stay was on leaving it would of been mentioned to her as well, but it was a very quick okay/thankyou kind of check out. I would stop again, but would request a different room.
"Nice hotel. No organisation!"
Stayed at this hotel on Saturday 19th November on a bus trip with Jones international. The hotel rooms were lovely. Dinner was included in the package which was lovely. The service was ok but waitresses tried to serve two tables at the same time and were getting orders confused. The vegetarian meal ordered on our table turned up and it was a chicken pie! This was followed by a member of our party and several other guests getting stuck in the lift. The staff didn't know how to deal with this and the manager just kept running up and down the stairs. No-one had a key to open the lift. If it hadn't been for another guest who managed to open the doors they could have been in there for ages. Also despite being told that someone stuck in the lift wasn't well no-one asked if everyone was ok when they got out. Total shambles. Went for a swim and jacuzzi Sunday morning followed by a lovely breakfast. The queue was huge and went down slowly. The breakfast wasn't very hot but it was tasty. I would stay here again but I would avoid using the lift!
Would like to praise the wonderful bar and waiting staff at Faradays. Megan the waitress is lovely and always pleasant , and Hassan at the bar always very helpful and charming. A warm welcome back to Darren at the bar -we missed you while you were off. Only complaint is the parking, unfortunately disabled spaces are often taken up by taxis or cars that are not displaying a badge. This needs addressing urgently-maybe employ a concierge to check'
