The Copthorne Hotel Merry Hill Dudley is located in the Brierley Hill, next to the Merry Hill Shopping Complex, and 5 minutes from the Dudley town centre.
What an excellent hotel. Everything was outstanding. The room was large and quiet. The bed was comfortable and huge. No noise or light pollution. I slept soundly. The buffet breakfast was fantastic I was lucky enough to stay three nights. Happy days. The staff ere helpful, attentive and knowledgeable. I couldn't have asked for more. Similar in style & approach to the Mecure & Village chains. I think it's slightly better. We'll worth the extra couple of quid. Thank you for a lovely stay. Most enjoyable. Highly recommended.
"Enjoyed our stay and breakfast worth every penny."
We stayed on 6th April for husbands work event which was taking place in the hotel.. Let reception know that we had parked in the carpark at 8.30am and a real bonus to be told the room was ready and we could book in straight away. Booked a double room , but actually had a double and single bed in it. Nice sized and spotlessly clean room except for a few stains on the carpet. No coffee table and chairs this stay though, just one desk chair. (Suppose that's with having an extra bed in it). Plenty of mirrors, electrical sockets, the usual drink making facilities and biscuits provided. Iron and ironing board , hairdryer and a safe. Husband spent the day in his event , with plenty of hot and cold drinks and pastries freely available throughout the day. A tasty hot buffet lunch was served for them, and a set menu meal for their function in the evening which he also enjoyed. The thing that stood out especially was the breakfast. Pleasant staff, serving plenty of tea and coffee to the table and explaining what was on offer. Really well cooked hot buffet and fruit really fresh.Well worth paying £10 extra a person for. Only a few minutes walk from Merryhill Westfield shopping centre.( Can either cross the road from hotel or walk over the canal bridge and onto the towpath which is safer in busy traffic.) Hotel leisure centre accessible via internal staircase or from just outside reception. Towels and locker keys provided for hotel guests , just need to leave room key behind leisure centre reception. Communal changing rooms and useful costume spinner . Decent sized swimming pool and small but good steam room . Also a sauna and powerful jacuzzi. We enjoyed a few drinks in the hotel bar after husband had finished his evening meal. Pleasant bar staff , good drinks and a nice atmosphere. There are a couple of pubs just a few minutes walk the other side of the canal from the hotel which serve decent meals. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Minor issues like the door mechanism needing resetting by the maintenance man, and the safe needing him to over-ride it ,with previous guests leaving it closed, were dealt with straight away and he was there within minutes both times. Checkout was quick and wished a pleasant journey. Based on our experience both times we have stayed at this hotel, wouldn't hesitate to book here again.
Loved every moment of my stay. No hotel over the last month beats the service nor the deco. Copthorne Birmingham let me down. Booked similar room but nothing like the quality and luxury you feel when you stay here. Breakfast always at a high standard apart from no.veggie sausages. Fantastic stay. Thank you.
"Room ok, food not great"
Stayed for a work event. Car park - depending on time of day you arrive hard to find a space. Check in - not great, staff were rude and barely any information given had to ask. Room - big, clean. They are out dated but nothing wrong with them. Breakfast - it's ok. Pastry selection poor. Cereals and English fry. They will make poached eggs for you if you ask. Meeting room - it was roasting, even after going to reception to get it fixed was still way too warm. Lunch - poor choice. The desert was lovely though Dinner - large group and took well over an hour before four starters came out, even though starters and mains were asked at the same time. Would not of been such an issue if they had told us how long it would actually be and stop telling us it'd be a few more minutes. Food not great and so over priced for what you get. Bar - fine and bar staff were nice. Overall the hotel is fine and if I stayed again would only eat the breakfast.
"Good location and friendly staff"
Stayed here whilst working in Merry Hill shopping centre which was ideally located. Friendly staff, rooms fine although quilt was too heavy and room a little hot. Nice bar and restaurant to relax in...
