"EXCELLENT POSTION WITH GOOD SERVICES"
I have stayed in this hotel on many occasions .I love the quiet position but within easy reach of the main High Street shops, the Underground, restaurants, Kensington Gardens, the Royal Albert Hall etc. There are several eating places in the hotel as well as a snack area and shop. The staff are efficient and helpful. The rooms are large, comfortable and fully equipped . I always feel at home there, and it is good value for money.
"Last minute booking"
Great location for Kensington/Chealsea/Nottinghill. A tube or bus ride to Central London but still not too far away. Easy and reasonable price for parking for London if staying here, made it very simple for us. Clean, comfortable, well priced considering the location. Decor was a bit dated, but well maintained. Would have appreicated fresh bottled water daily. Courteous and helpful staff. Free wifi with upgraded room on a higher floor. Recommend this option if possible.
"A Very Enjoyable Stay"
My wife and I stayed at the Tara Copthorne for 7 nights over the New Years period. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay in our 11th floor Club Room. The location of the hotel is excellent being only a few minutes walk from the High Street Kensington tube station, close to the Hop On Hop Off bus service and a plethora of pubs, restaurants and shops! The organic supermarket nearby was amazing!!! The room was very comfortable, very quiet and had teriffic block out curtains! The wifi was great for us although unlike some of the other reviewers who seem to NEED superfast wifi all of the time, we actually got out of the room and saw the sights!!! We did not spend our night on our phones or tablets! Breakfast was very comprehensive with some very unique touches. We were able to access the Club Lounge each evening for wine and Canapes which was very nice seeing wine was sooo expensive in the restaurants and cafes. We also could have breakfast in the Club Lounge where there was a smaller selection but you could order specific things which was nice. The main question you probably want to ask was it worth the extra money for the Club Room'' In our opinion, yes it was for the 11th floor room and its quietness. The Club Lounge is very nice to have but unfortunately the hotel cannot screen its guests who sit in there like the King and Queen and complain about a little streak on their wine glass and let their kids eat all of the canapes so they do not need to buy them dinner!!! I would book the Club Room again. Nice Hotel (Big Hotel!) and we enjoyed our stay there very much.
"Last minute stay "
We booked here last minute. The room was dated and looked like it could really do with some work and updating (skirting board hanging off in places etc) but it was clean. Staff were pleasant and polite. Room was quiet. If you need a quick place to stay centrally with parking this is fine. You will not be wowed with quality though.
"Average hotel which leaves you frustrated"
On first impression this hotel seems pretty good but scratch the surface and cracks appear. Main gripe is the wifi. Offered free (as it should be in all hotels without fanfare) it doesn't work. Signal strength poor which means speed is awful and the connection drops every few minutes. I tried working in my room but it wasn't possible. Second whinge is about the shower - poor pressure , difficult to regulate the temperature and fixed so as to make using it difficult. All very frustrating. That said the cost of this hotel is on paper pretty good but you pay for what you (don't) get.
