"Another Great Experience - Thanks"
I have now stayed at the Copthorne Tara Hotel Kensington London frequently during this year. A client of mine that i was visiting decided to place me in another hotel in the same area, there was simply no comparison !! I would not say I treated my stays at the Copthorne Tara with any degree of complacency but seeing the alternative really drove home just how good the Copthorne Tara is. I checked out and was back in Copthorne Tara within minutes the hotel amenities, cleanliness, professionalism and courteousy of the Staff (Cyrus in particular) makes you feel a truly valued customer I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and its within easy access of so much that London has to offer
"Best value for money"
Reasonably priced hotel at an excellent location, close to high street kensington station and shops and to hyde park. Rooms are clean and pleasant. Staff are helpful and cheerful. Breakfast is affordable, fresh and have reasonable variety.
"Nice hotel "
Stopped at the Copthorne Tara hotel for a long weekend lovely hotel nice rooms good quality food the only down side was the queue for breakfast on a morning was crazy tip get to breakfast early around 8am all in all nice hotel would visit again if ever in Kensington
"Queue from check in to check out, and room which was not well cleaned"
The big building looks a bit like buildings in former Eastern European countries. When you enter the reception area, there are queues, for check in, for luggage, for elevators. The room had a bad smell of mildew, the room temperature was close to impossible to regulate, and the room was not very clean. After some re cleaning, it was ok. But the smell of mildew remained. The morning after we experienced the mother of all queues to the breakfast restaurant. 15 min in queue, and then we were placed in another queue. If you have a hotell of this size, you should have a more structured approached to handle guests for breakfast. The hotel is ok, but not very well organized.
"Christmas kick off"
We have stayed her several times over the years for our yearly Christmas trip to London. The location is excellent. The rooms are always clean, albeit very small. I hate the air conditioning units though - very old fashioned and no happy medium between too cold or too hot. This year we stayed twice as we had to go to Surrey for an even on the Friday night. We checked in without drama on the Thursday evening and I asked about leaving some belongings there on Friday to be retrieved on our return on Saturday - to be told, yes, but for a charge. Ridiculous. We returned on Saturday at 1:30 and our room wasn't ready so we went for lunch and a drink and returned at 3pm - which we were advised to do, again no room. At this point I was getting cross - it's our weekend away, we wanted to freshen up and get changed. We were offered a club room - as our standard room wasn't ready! Great, thank you very much! Again for a charge! They wanted us to pay for an upgrade to a club room even though it was their fault our room was not ready in the first place! £50 for the privilege! We declined and demanded a room! We were upgraded to 'Club' I'm still not sure what the difference between standard and club is! It is not in size! So, I'm fed up with the attitude now! Looking for somewhere else to stay in future! Horrible expectant attitude!
