"Stay here when in London "
This was the third time I've stayed at the Copthorne Tara. This time we spent a bit more to be on the club level and found it was worth the extra cost. The bathroom had a nice bathtub. The location just off High St. in Kensington and the reasonable room rates make this a great value. The breakfast was excellent along with the club level daily happy hour. The service was exceptional from all the staff. Can't wait to come back!
"Nice clean hotel, parking too expensive"
Stayed for business for 1 night, the room was clean, tidy, quiet, everything was functional, LCD TV, Aircon, Shower, Kettle, Fridge. Service was good and breakfast had a very good choice. The room did show wear and tear in the shower specially. But still it was clean.
This hotel was easy to get to via public transport. Kensington High St tube station is literally around the corner and the buses were equally close with destinations to all parts of the city. The area is very nice, you feel safe and you can walk to several pubs/ restaurants. The following are within half an hours walking distance: V&A museum, Science museum, Natural History Museuem, Kensington Gardens and Palace, Hyde Park and the Royal Albert Hall. Check in was smooth with very pleasant staff. Our room was good, but the walls were a little thin, the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was available from 7.30am until 10.30am (11.00am weekends). There was a huge choice on offer and the waiting staff were very attentive. If you are staying in this area of London or wish to visit the nearby museums this hotel would be a good choice.
"Not a four star "
Room unclean, no shampoo, sink blocked. breakfast ok, 4 attempts to get the waitress to put a teabag outside the pot as I like weak tea!! Reception very busy, long queues. Dinner was nice. The hotel is in a good position in Kensington shame it does not live up to 4 stars. Having said that there are obviously very good facilities in reference to access disability. I think the disappointing side apart from being unclean and housekeeping not up to standard was the difficulty in communication with some of the staff who did not understand what was being said.
I was very happy with my stay there its a great location staff were very helpful. Train Station not far away and the hop on hop off bus. its a very nice part of London. Definitely will stay there again 😀
