"First Class Stay"
Besides being easily the best hotel in Khartoum the Corinthia is a skyline defining landmark in it's own right. The rooms are spacious and the use of materials and colours give a feeling of comfort and luxury. One has to try the lavish breakfast buffet at the top floors whilst enjoying a magnificent 360 degree view of Khartoum. From traditional Arabic to English or Continental, there is plenty of choice and all is fresh and house-made. Hats off to the logistics-team. Must be quite a challenge running a hotel of these standards in this type of environment. Since there are a number of restaurants to choose from inside the hotel one really doesn't have to leave the hotel grounds at all. Of course there are still good reasons to have a stroll outside; Take a left turn and follow the Blue Nile downstream for about a mile and do pay a visit to the Sudan National Museum, not to be missed!

Corinthia Hotel is one of the very good Hotels in Khartoum although good hotels in Khartoum are less than the 5 hand's fingers. Beautiful architecture facing the Nile river on it's 2 branches : the blue and the white Nile river. Spacious rooms and clean. The Staff is Good, helpful, friendly with kind attentions. The food is below average. Efforts should be made on the culinary services. If cuisine is improved, the Hotel could be highly rated to become unique at the Capital.
"Luxury in Khartoum"
Amazing architecture, views to die for and very hospitable staff all round. Food is also amazing. Loved the Arabic and African spices and blend of flavours particularly the meats and salads. Will certainly return.
"Magnificent structure and views but not a lot has changed in 7 years!"
I first visited the Corinthia in 2010. I recall then thinking how it stood out but that the standards inside did not match those of the architecture which is stunning. Its not as though the staff don't try or aren't friendly, they are. Its just the levels of service and food do not deserve a 5 star rating. Here's a few examples: 1) Maintenance: The toilet seat in my bathroom in #1012 was faulty - it wan't a major job - just awahse needed tightening. It took 3 days (and a direct appeal to the maid who arranged it) for it to be fixed. 2) Room service: I had two meals in the room. One an Arab Mixed Grill which had been cremated and despite a specific request for rice which was repeated back to me I got fries which were as I feared not home made and tasteless. When the rice came (spearately after I complained) it was warm not hot. 3) Mini Bar: Replenished sporadically by a very friendly man - but its hit or miss. 4) Overall food - international with few vegetables - even the mid east dishes lacked imagination. Certainly no local fish and no heads / bones! Best meal I had was Soup and Dumplings in RIckshaws. 5) Conference facilities: I was running a day long masterclass and had to arrive very early to set up the room and facilities. As an example a multiple plug point provided but only one socket available as the others were taped over. These are all relatively minor points but do make the difference between a 3 and 5 star which the exterior aspires to be.
