"Top hotel for Sudanese market standards, excellent views"
If you decide to visit Sudan or more specific Khartoum from abroad you probably did your research and you would know the current state of affairs in the country and the city. Compared to that state of affairs, this Corithia hotel provides above average services and standards. Circumstances beyond their control prevent them from providing luxury services as would be expected from a best hotel in town, but this is Khartoum and you should be happy with the services offered here. I stayed for business, had a nice room on a high floor with a stunning view on the Nile. Breakfast is great, with a lot of choice, the buffet restaurant offers a lot of variety (though might serve that same variety multiple days during a week) and the asian restaurant is also good. So happy with the stay. Internet speed could be improved but I believe this is also beyond their control.
"One of the best stays ."
I usually stay at Corinthia Hotel Khartoum, but I consider t this stay as the best among other stays. The hotel management and staff made their best to put some efforts to revive the hotel. There are several positive changes especially in the rooms, Food and beverage and Executive lounge. I had a very well reception from the reception team especially Mr. Mohammed Madani , who as I knew him was all the time very helpful and receptive. I witnessed several positive changes and well thought off touches that I wish to continue to improve the WIFI and further upgrade other services. The hotel building and design is a valuable asset and with the prevailing positive initiatives I expect this hotel to be the best in Khartoum as I wish it will be. I recommend this hotel for business and families.
Confortble clean rooms but limited TV channels in English. Shower could be better. Internet in the room kept disconnecting. Food was average but quite a good breakfast selection. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Check out was very speedy.
So with respect to location comfort and looks it would rate 5/5 With respect to wifi 1/5 but probably it is the local network... With respect to staff at reception they promise they will check for you and get back to you. Still waiting like.... There was a western person (seems like a manager) who was passing by the reception who noticed that the lampshade wire was unsightly. He fixed it but the look of disgust he gave to the employees should have been withheld for a private conversation not at the front desk in front of hotel guests. The pool was large and warm The jacuzzi was scalding - literally!
"Mediocre hotel, no credit cards accepted"
It's ok but I would say over-rated if you are hoping for something similar to Corinthia elsewhere. For example bathroom was dated and not clean, minimal supply of the usual shower gels etc, old towels, few plug points and bad internet. Bed was comfy however and restaurant views great from 16th floor. They won't give you a room with a Nile view if paying a web price.
