"High quality, excellent service"
Although this high quality hotel is not central, it is only two stops on the nearby Metro. Rooms are well equipped and very clean, staff are friendly and helpful, and the food is good. There are excellent views in any direction, so the higher the bedroom the better.
I was attending a conference and it is perfect location for the conference center. My Mother also came along to see the sights. She is 76 and found it very easy to get around. Only 2 stops away from the city centre and only 1 stop and the number 22 tram, gets you to the Bridge and Palace. No taxis needed. (Although the Hotel taxis are a fantastic idea and good value for money) The room was vell kitted out and beds and pillows amazing. (Best sleep ever). David at the Concierge was very helpful. Especially to my mum, helping her every step of the way, to make sure she enjoyed her stay. I have on the last day a Pedicure. It was the best ive ever had. Down points - My mum couldn't use the swimming pool as it only had upright steps and she cant climb out because of her hips. The safe in the room, must have been made for someone 7ft tall!! I could only just reach, but had to stand on a chair to make sure I had got everything when i left the room. In the morning, you had to wait a long time to get the lift down. Difficult if your working, and need to get somewhere. (I saw some people walk down the stairs) My Mum wanted her hair done and couldn't get a reservation. They said 3 days. So if this is what you need, #i suggest you book in advance, or as soon as you arrive. An excellent choice and would definitely go back. What a beautiful city.
"Ok, after all"
The close proximity to the nearby conference center was the reason I chose the Corinthia for a week long stay in Prague. My rate included breakfast and access to the business lounge, as well as free access to the pool. The hotel is somewhat dated, and, as others have said, does not deserve the many stars it claims. The hotel caters for tours as well, and when it does, the breakfast area gets really crowded. I found the breakfast somewhat disappointing - it's all there, lots of choices, but I found myself eating less and less each morning, because the taste just wasn't there. I think it's because of the ingredients - the bread is of the industrial type, for instance. I had dinner on one night and found it quite enjoyable, so they certainly know how to cook. Although I give the hotel an "average" rating, I would return if I got a decent rate. I like the fact that the window can be opened, my wife loved the pool area, the location is good because of the metro station just in front of the hotel, and the overall experience was comfortable. During my stay, the proximity to the conference center was a huge advantage.
"Not as many stars as it claims"
Stayed here during a business trip to Prague on the basis it claimed it was good deal with at least four star hospitality. However a few thing at the Corinthia are not four stars. The rooms are equipted with windows with very poor sound proofing. If they put you in a room facing the expressway/congress centre beware, unless you enjoy sleeping with the constant sound of traffic! There are very few electrical outlets in the room. Given today that travellers need to charge phones, iPads and laptops, this can be somewhat tricky. There are no outlets at the desk as you might expect and the only two outlets I could find were both under the desk and these were already connected to the desk lamp and the water cooker! The beds are good, but then the morning shower was a shock. There was no warm water in either tap or shower, so I had to have cold shave and a freezing shower! Not too happy I had to queue to be ushered into the dining room for breakfast. The boiled eggs were hard, overcooked with a grey yolk, the porridge sweetened and the tea in bag and I could point to more. The checkout could have been smoother, and for some reason the computers were not cooperating either. I pointed out the lack of warm water etc and the cashier deducted 10% off the bill. So the first impression was not what I had hoped for and certainly not worth the rate. The really only good thing about the Corinthia is that is just next to a Metro station that takes you downtown in minutes.
Prague is a truly fantastic city but what about the Corinthia Hotel' Positives We stayed in Corinthia hotel Great location, A lots of space in the hotel, nice rooms with nice bathroom nice view . The Hotel is not far from the city center and has the handy advantage of a Metro station just outside the front door This made it ideal to get about, the metro trains run every few mins so there was never a problem of waiting long for a train or spend your money for taxi The Hotel was very clean and quite , the staff at reception were helpful and friendly, and went out of there way to be helpful .we stayed in nice room equipped with mini bar safe etc...... Breakfast was nice- wide choice available . Bread . Cheeses and hams and eggs . Vegetables .Coffee . Tea . juices ,, without being anything special . The staff were always courteous, helpful and friendly with gentle man named Sobhy on the business lounge every evening happy hour and room service . He was so positive and smiling and with humorous and lighthearted. He recommended us the Rickshaw restaurant and was probably the best Thai food we have had in our life !!! He is very professional and efficient in his approach to work as well as dedicated his tasks how he was running to help old lady I could say safety place for old people as well !!! The spa was quite nice and clean with nice view from the top of Prague , Overall an excellent stay, great staff . enjoy and forget the negatives things there are far more positives. . We can safely recommend this hotel . Thank you the Corinthia Staff
