I've stayed here a few times during visits to Prague: it's a great hotel but a little tired. The pool's good, the views from the upper floors are exceptional. It's very close to the Prague metro (Vysehrad is essentially the hotel's own station, two stops from the city centre).
Let's get the "bad" out of the way: The rooms, while well maintained (and maid service is excellent) are not quite up to what you expect from a modern ***** hotel (a well deserved classification). My guess is that the hotel was built in the late 70s, early 80s and while upgrades where made (notably the beds) the basic infrastructure (which is of high quality) shows its age. This is most notable in the bathroom. That said: The room amenities, are absolutely up to scratch. From the real nice, fluffy bathrobes, overe the beddings up to the real coat hangers (those theft proof atrocities are a major annoyance of mine. Good luck hanging your suit into the bathroom with those) you'll find anything that you need. And in excellent, well maintained quality. Now let's get to the good stuff: Great quality beds. Absolutely top notch! (With which, we have the most important hotel room feature out of the way). I'm a Prague (very) regular and to me Nusle is one of the best locations you can stay in the city. It's not a five minute walk to the center of the old town, but compensates quite nicely with a metro station of its own. So it's a five minute metro ride to the center. (It's actually a nice walk too on a sunny day). The staff is just awesome. Even though it's a rather large hotel I always feel welcome and personally cared for. While I mentioned the slightly dated infrastructure, the price / value ratio is unmatched in Prague. You really get overall ***** luxury and amenities for a very reasonable price. It's a five minute walk from Vysehrad. If, theoretically, you only have the chance to see one tourist attraction (alas, there are not that many tourists there) do yourself a favor and let it be Vysehrad. Great breakfast, although, for personal reasons, I rarely take advantage of it. Even with the slight reservations mentioned I'll give the Corinthia an unrestrained 5 star rating.
"Absolutely Amazing Hotel"
I booked this hotel for a 5 night package. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, I mainly travel for work and this was a private 5 night break in Prague. The hotels best features are The rooms are lovely and I was lucky to have been allocated a room on the 17th Floor Over looking the city.(Thank you Zuzanne for making this possible for me) The Swimming Pool sauna and steam rooms on the 24th and 25th floors have to be visited to be experienced. It was an Oasis of calm for me and exactly what I needed. (thank you concierge and house keeping staff for delivering the bathrobe to be so quickly). The breakfast was also incredible and the selection amazing (thank you to the greeting staff for making the first visit so easy and also for the carry out coffee I received each morning on my departure. Thank you also to the house keeping staff who delivered an iron and board to my room within minutes of requesting it. It has been said before the Metro is at the basement and so easy to access the city.(thank you again to the concierge for your help explaining the workings of the metro system to me) I travel normally for business and don't normally choose 5 star hotels but this was one of my better choices. I read about delays for the lift and I must have used the lift 50-60 times during my stay and I never waited more than a couple of minutes. The air conditioning worked perfectly for me contrary to what others reported. The bed was amazingly comfortable and I had an excellent nights sleep every night I have stayed in Prague twice before but this hotel was so much better than the other two. All staff were extremely helpful and courteous, Those that worked inside the hotel entrance, the bar staff, the house keeping staff, those that showed my table for breakfast each morning Absolutely everyone. I think the staff would have a lot to show others who work in the industry how to make guests feel like they were the only gust at the hotel. A big thank you to everyone and I hope to visit again in the future.
The hotel, it's staff and amenities were top notch!! The only not so great thing is the location but the train station is right across the street so it's easy to get around. Hotel staff was very hospitable and helpful. They made me feel like they were happy we chose them.
"Prague you are beautiful with the stay in hotel Corinthia"
I was there from Friday to Saturday the last week. Tha staff was excellent , everything was perfect. The welness area with the swimming pool was the best choice for my referesh. The dinner in the grill bar was excellent an delicious. The staff in restaurant was very kind and helpful. The hotel is next to the metro station Vy'ehrad and only 2 station to the city centre- Museum station. I finished my stay with the romantic breakfast on the terrace with the nice view on the Prague. Thank you for everything:-)
