Comment of B. Monika , Germany the 2014-05-12
"Excellent location, very comfortable hotel"
Excellent location - 3 minutes walk from the underground train station, 7 minutes walk from Checkpoint Charlie, 20 minutes walk from Alexanderplatz and around 25 walk minutes from Brandenburg Gate. There's a Lidl or Aldi (I can't remember which one) within a 3 minute walk to stock up on snacks and lots of great restaurants within a 15min walk. The room itself was very comfortable as you would expect from the Marriott brand. I had booked the suite for myself and my elderly parents and we had ample room to spread ourselves out and not feed claustrophobic. Breakfast was EXCELLENT. I miss that crispy bacon already. Great coffee too. The serving staff should be commended for very friendly service, always with a smile even when it was extremely busy with huge tour parties! The only let-down for me were the staff on reception. While they were efficient, which was great, they also came across as robotic and you would rarely see them smile. I hope they are not unhappy. The highlight of my stay here was the hotel sending a small muffin cake to the room on a slate with Happy Birthday written on it as a surprise for my mum!!! This was such a nice touch. Thank you to all of the staff who arranged this and thanks for keeping in touch with me on Facebook ahead of my stay with you.
"Very good business hotel"
The double room cost us about 100 euro which is a very good price for a place like this.Though the hotel is in the centre of a very big and noisy city,I could sleep in the afternoon-absolutely quiet with this concept of the building encompassing the internal yard.Comfortable beds, curtains that can make the room dark at any time.I could really rest very well during a very exhausting business trip to Berlin.Stuff is very well trained and efficient. The Oleo bistro in the hotel is very good, especially that concept of lunch menu in a wooden box!for 9.50e. Good to have iron and ironing table in all rooms.I only missed slippers and shower cap.
I travelled here in august 2016 for 3 nights, Thgis hotel has a gr8 location where it is near to the mall of berlin where you can make shopping there , its 15 min walk, also it is near to alexander platz which is the most famous platz in berlin. the food was good and the rooms as very clean and very wide, i enjoyed the room so much , i dont have any con in this hotel.t
"Friendly staff, good rooms"
The hotel is comfortable, rooms are adequate. The staff is great, friendly by nature. The hotel is a bit out of center and the breakfast could be a bit more diverse. There is a restaurant and a bar, which are fine.
"AN INSPIRED CHOICE THAT HELPED CREATE A NEW TREASURE OF MEMORIES!"
My Wife and I decided to take a four day mini-break in Berlin and chose this particular hotel after some research on Trip Advisor. We arrived at the Hotel mid morning on a Saturday, around 11 a.m. Despite our early arrival on the day we found the reception staff to be most accommodating and amenable, and within a matter of a couple of minutes had arranged us an early check in at no extra expense. We found the reception staff to be particularly amenable, without being overbearing throughout our visit. It was refreshing in a busy hotel to be met with a genuine smile and willingness to help. We made our way up to our room to unpack, it was very clean, spacious and well designed in it's layout. The bed was large and the mattress very comfortable, we had some very good quality and well deserved sleep during the course of our visit. The shower was excellent ,and the clothes storage space more than adequate for the duration of our stay. After a short period of unpacking we both made our way down to reception to do our initial exploration of the City on foot. There was an extensive display of leaflets relating to local attractions and transport suggestions which we found most useful during our time in the City. The Hotel is modern in design and I would guess is fairly recently built, it is located near to a number of convenient transport routes the Spittlemarkt underground station being only a short walk away. If the truth be known a lot of very interesting attractions/locations are within a relatively short walking distance if you are of average fitness. Checkpoint Charlie is only a five minute walk away, the hotel having been built only matter of yards from the original wall, you can view the "Cobblestone Markers" in the road outside the Hotel. We returned to the Hotel that evening after putting in a few walking miles and decided to eat at the Hotel. We were not dissapointed, the high level of courteous service we had encountered in the reception staff was matched by the bar and Restaurant staff. The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, the range of wine available seemed to cheer my good lady, the food was hot, well presented, inviting and last but not least delivered in good portion. It was a most enjoyable end to the day and I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to converse with my Wife not just about the events of the day but it also gave us a relaxed opportunity to catch up with the events of each others busy lives. A good nights sleep was had by all, it is fair to say that throughout our stay we were never disturbed by internal, or external noise whilst in the hotel. Breakfast the following day was of good quality and a wide variety, it covered all types of tastes and appetites, My Wife did comment that my answer to what would I like for breakfast would probably be "A Lot!" The coffee was outstanding and is something I have consistently missed since returning to England. We have decided that this Hotel will provide an ideal base for future return trips to Berlin, despite our best efforts so much in Berlin remains unseen, it is a huge, vibrant and exciting City We felt relaxed and happy throughout our stay, helped along by a few cocktails in the evening if I may be bold. The food and drink we felt was very reasonably priced for a quality Hotel in a Capital City We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, and looking forward to returning in the near future, we have very fond memories that I hope will follow us through life. Give it a go, see what you think!
